yeah I rarely use it since it's useless in the corner and if I'm not in the corner I have space to work with anyways

I played like 12 to 14 hours of beta over the weekend, mostly Karin and Gief with some Sim. The connection was smooth for most of my games. The biggest problem I had was playing on pad, I missed a lot of anti airs.

His vreversal is one of the best, free escape from almost everything. In the corner you can even use it to punish shit. Like if Nash cancels into flip, you can vreversal, recover and combo him.
If you look closely you can tell they are different shades of red

I don't think it's in order, just who is top tier.
Basics.
Spacing, knowing what attacks to combo at least, anti airing, mixups... etc.
I am 14-1 so far, almost to 700lp. Network has been very good so far.

I just came back after finally turning off the desktop. Damn, it's been years since I last played Street Fighter for hours and hours on end. A thirteen win streak is nice, but I wish I'd gotten to 2K LP. Every single time I got close to 1800 someone just came and smacked me down. On the bright side I did manage to reach the top 4k. People in the top 1k must not be sleeping at all.
Also, Karin is the new Ken and that only disappoints me slightly. She must be the most used character of the beta so far imo. Makes me feel good, but I'm not big on mirror matches.

done for today but i'm leaving feeling pretty positive about the game. i wasn't really feeling it last beta but i'm liking what i'm seeing now. can't wait to get into training mode without getting interrupted every 20 or 30 sec for a match. plus now i'll be able to play gaffers and train together which is what i'm planning to do to learn the basics for a lot of characters. really hoping the new madcatz pad is good so i'm not held back by execution.
looks like i'll be having to catch up to you just like when marvel 3 was released a long time ago. can't wait for the player matches.

Thanks for that clarification. I could use work on all of those. Trying to figure out what attacks are good defense against jumping mixups is what I'm working on now. Someone here said standing strong is good with Nash. Jab has worked pretty good on wakeup against aggressive players. Nash has a horrible wakeup game. I know right now that Ryu, Ken, Cammy and Rashid are dangerous on wakeup, so bait it or keep your distance.
My mixups are basically, you don't know if I'll sweep or overhead while your down. I'm not good enough to combo into anything from that yet. If I try to jump into a mixup I would probably confuse myself right now.
I can't wait to see you at that midnight launch ;^)
It's pretty interesting to see even mediocre players (judging by anti-airs, hit-confirms etc) do very advanced combos. Could maybe end up being boring.
Chun does close range Kikoken and hit confirms into super, it's amazing. Her V-Trigger combos, too. All at level 6.
Needed this laugh after the last two lag fest matches. Good job.

You're right. I'm guilty of it too. I'm going to get back on in a little bit and see if I can lose it all. I got past 1000 while beating players I never thought I could beat and that's all that matters. Win or lose, I'm getting better.Everyone is drooling over their precious LP even though it'll be disappear into the ether by the end of the night.

I think it's too early for a tier list as well. But I assume PR is just looking at the tools and seeing how they are going to play out. I think most people are just basing tiers and who is good based on who they are losing to and they find annoying right now. We need more time.
The netcode really is bumming me out. I fear it is just not gonna work good with my connection, if this is how it is going to be. I don't have issues with my 360 or PS4 Ultra, so I don't know what the deal is. I have it for only 5 bar connections as well. We shall see. Maybe I will fiddle with port forwarding.

Tons of playtime, very little success. Either that or a real bad streak of losses.
I would swap Birdie and Cammy in for Vega and Sim (or just add them to the upper tier). 90% of my losses are to Nash and Cammy.
Quick, switch to Ryu. Fundamentals will be there even when your mind is playing tricks on you!
I do hope the netcode is better in February. A good chunk of my losses were against lesser opponents due to rollback.
Crouching medium punch seems to be pretty strong.
lol, lame can't take lame. Unsurprising. I keep thinking Sim players are gonna DC once they figure out I'm jabbing them out of those SF4 teleport tactics every time.
