So much potential for game of the year threads

I would vote for Trump over Cruz or many other republicans. Theres a reason why other republicans hate him and he isn't taking money from Koch. If I voted republican it would be Trump. Remember he used to be a democrat. The wall and blocking Muslims will never happen.

Those are his positions though. Whether they actually happen or not, a vote for Trump is a vote for someone who wants to do those things.

Like when Bernie says he's going to break up the big banks. He isn't, but if you're voting for him, you're voting on the idea that he will, not on the idea that he won't.

I'm on a night shift, driving around the original Hampshire over in the UK, listening to this on the radio - I'm actually a bit scared.

Is Trump actually mentally ill? I feel more and more and more like I'm listening to someone have a breakdown. It's also terrifying to hear all the 'USA! USA! USA!' nutcases chanting like that while he just spouts random weird shit. I'm actually scared he might win in November. He's a joke yes, but you never know.

I feel like if he wins, we're all dead!

He's like a celebrity Nigel Farage.

I'm sick of reading all this shit about Bernie not being able to pass any legislation. Bernie will use old man strength to beat the shit out of anyone not willing to do their jobs.

I am still voting for him because I want to endorse progressive policies and see the democratic party move to closer to the left of the worldwide political spectrum. I am worried by his disinterest in foreign policy, and the details of his tax plans, but I view the ideological positions as a place to bargain from, not a real guarantee of implementable policies. Starting off the conversation with passing universal healthcare might get us a public option, which in a few election cycles could get us a public/private system like other countries have, where everyone pays in to the public system and some (if they wish) can still use private insurance. Starting the conversation off with free college could get us a system where the government provides interest free/inflation indexed loans for tuition to public universities, etc.

What needs to be fresh is the ideas and the way a campaign is done. Sanders is way more fresh than Clinton in that perspective. That's why he gets nearly all the votes from young people. If being a woman is the only thing that is "fresh" then she's clearly not.

Good job making this kind of speech while he's live on TV btw.

Bern might be older but Hil has been in too many positions in politics ranging from First Lady to Secretary and everything in between so yea I'm sure she has some fresh ideas.

the neocon battle between Jeb and Rubio fighting for eachother's votes and ending up with minimal to 0 delegates is so awesome!!! I hope both keep on dividing each other's support rendering both non-viable

Trump 2016!

Hillary 2016!

Christie is just too fat to be president. It sucks, but the american people are shallow.

William Howard Taft was 340 pounds.

I feel like Christie is the candidate most likely to snort coke off of a dead prostitute.

All these results are going to do is convince Jeb to continue :<

good. keep them all in, all the way. have the convention be a giant clusterfuck. have a candidate get picked that is completely blasé and vanilla that nobody is happy with. *really* disenfranchise the republican voters. get what remaining moderate republicans (voters and politicians) out of there and into the independent category. continue the parties slow deflation... until a new second party can firmly go for the middle ground, letting the democrats push a little further to the left, and get party politics finally heading in more progressive directions.

maybe not this year. maybe not in four years. but if the republicans keep playing to the dwindling bigot vote... that's their destiny.

I never mentioned Sanders in my original post. So, criticizing Bill's failures is automatically talking up Sanders?

I can write pages on how much I hated Reagan growing up.

Depends, are you letting Sanders slide for his part in that vote too?

I'll re-post this since people like to pretend that Bernie flip flopped on the crime bill when his vote reflected years of harsh criticism of the bill but ultimately was decided by its inclusion of VAWA and the assault weapons ban.

He still voted for it. I don't really care what his excuse for it is.

Trump is a reality TV character. Right now he's playing to the voters, and those voters lean a certain way. He will absolutely pivot more to the center should he get the nomination once he starts trying to win over independents and Reagan Democrats.

Bernie truly believes what he says. Trump is presenting a side of himself that will best serve himself in the popularity contest primarily voted on by registered Republicans. Watch what he does in a presidential election, should he make it there.

But he still voted for it....

And if he voted against it, you'd go "HE'S TOO SOFT ON GUNS! HE HATES WOMEN!"

This attempt to smear him with the bill he voted for, that included both good and bad, falls flat when he has thoroughly explained his disdain for the bill. You don't fight for VAWA to get it included and then go "Eh, fuck it."

Blame the system.

He still voted for it. I don't really care what his excuse for it is.

lol of course you don't

lol Cruz lying out of his teeth saying he's gonna get the Reagan Democrats

Bernie is kind of like an American Jeremy Corbyn. I'd like to see him win. But like Corbyn. Not sure he could.
His supporters are all lazy fuck students who won't get out of bed to vote and everyone else is scared of him because he's a commie?

I would be absolutely shitting myself if it somehow came to be Sanders v Trump!
