With Quantum Break going PC who is ditching the X1 in favor of a new rig?

Now that Quantum Break is coming to PC day one I'm selling my X1 and finally building a new PC. I've wanted an excuse to do so for a long time and MS has finally given it to me. I love Microsofts new strategy and ironically enough when all is said and done I'll probably spend even more money in their new ecosystem. I'm definitely getting the Elite controller as well.

Is this impacting anyone else similarly?

My shit can't even run QB on PC. Them specs goddamn.

I'm not ditching a console I spent money on, nah. QB on W10 is free anyway for me so why ditch it.

You also gotta consider that for enthusiast PC gamers the idea of playing uneditable games on a shitty store interface instead of like, Steam isn't really worth the investment.

Its definitely affecting my decision. I made a thread asking if people would buy a console solely to play with friends and with all the One games heading to PC... I'm leaning torwards getting a PS4 and starting a rig.

Good luck getting a gaming PC that'll run Quantum Break for the price of an Xbone.

My PC will probably run it but that has cost me around £900 all in.

The Event on the 25th will shed some light on what my decision should be.

MS has got me with their IPs, I want them.

But if I can play all of them on my PC, best believe I will.

I was intending to buy another Xbox One for Scalebound after giving mine away to my brother in laws, now I have no reason to buy one at all. Xbox One feels so meaningless with all these exclusive titles going to PC. PS4 and Xbox One already wern't really competing as the price and specs are more or less the same but now Xbox One isn't even trying to compete with games, the sole purpose of a video game console.

I bought my Xbox One to play these games and they are still coming as 'console exclusives' all the same. Nothing has changed for me.

I recently built a "rig" but I'm not ditching my xbox because all I play is Halo 5 right now anyways. This decision is only good news for me though as I will be able to take advantage of cross buy and hopefully cross saveinge.

I also get a ton of value from my xbox as a media and Xbox fitness machine. Nothing has changed in my mind.

I'm keeping my X1 for Forza, otherwise, might as well pull the trigger on an Alienware 15 notebook. Was going to get one for the new Doom anyways.

I bought an Xbox One for all these exclusives a day before E3 2015. I guess I will simply store it for now.

I already have a rig that can run most of these Xbox games at twice the graphical fidelity.

I pretty much have no reason to buy an Xbox now.

I wish they would bring Sunset Overdrive to PC.

I would pick one up if it streamed from my PC to TV better than Steamlink and had cross buy for everything.

The xbox is now a no buy for me. Would have brought it eventually. But hoping to build a pc in the next few months! So now I have no reason for an xbox one since all the exclusives seem to be going to pc

Don't own a Xbox One but considering I have a decent PC I'm in no rush to get one with all this news.

Ive wanted an excuse to build something pretty beastly again anyways but just having 3rd party wasn't all that compelling. The idea of being able to really make games like Quatum Break, Scalebound and Gears 4 shine is just to exciting to me.

As I stated in another thread, if the game is good and interests me, and has a cross-platform multiplayer component, then I will buy two XB1s to gift one to each of my brothers while I upgrade my PC so that we can play together. Though I personally have no interest in owning a XB1 for myself, they likewise have no interest in owning a PC, so it'd be a nice opportunity to play games together that we otherwise wouldn't have been able to.

I'm currently saving for a new high end PC (1.5-2k range). It will be nice to get a free 60FPS XBOX One thrown in as a bonus. I'll take the dumb Windows Store software DRM over the XBOX' hardware DRM every day of the week.

Good luck taping two XBOs together to play it on Ultra?

Both bolded statements are pretty dumb is what I'm trying to say. Plus, the Xbox price is approaching 200€ in Germany.

I have a Mac for my computer needs

Have never been a PC gamer.

So nope, no need to throw money at building a "rig" when I have an XB1 that can play the same games

Unless you're really strapped for cash then I don't see why you wouldn't keep it. You seem to want QB Day 1 and the pre-order gets yu the Win10 version for free. Unless the thinking is that you spend the $250-300 yu get from selling the console on an Elite and a new card, then I say that's not a bad idea.

I would probably wait until their preview event on the 25th to see if other games you are looking forward to (Scalebound, Gears, Forza, Crackdown) are actually confirmed for PC. Then I say sure why not

It's certainly enticing me to build a new PC. I have the savings, but I doubt my conscience would appreciate me blowing $1K+ on a new rig, being in college in all.

If I'm going to build a rig, I'm going to do it right the first time.

Nope. For the same reason I won't dump my PS4 despite it performing terribly on games like Firewatch - I have no interest in PC gaming. Console + smartphone is all I need.

Don't think I'll be getting a new rig, my current one should more than suffice at a good level of fidelity. I got GTX 970, i7 980x@4.0GHZ, and 12GB of DDR3. Really curious how DirectX12 will work in this game, might make my old-ass as CPU a bit more efficient. Even though I don't think I've been held back by my CPU yet . . . Really happy QB is coming to PC, this saves me some money by not having to buy an X1.

We actually haven't heard if it is exclusive to the windows store or not.

I'm going by "worst case" which would be Windows Store exclusive. It would still be a massive improvement. Imagine MS giving a shit about the PC audience.

It could mean a new Freelancer.

Nah, I mostly play management and tycoon games on my PC. I was tempted to pre-order it digitally to get the Windows 10 version with it but looking at the minimum specs I'm not quite sure where my GPU fits in...

Nah, I'm going to stick with XB1. I have a gaming pc but I don't use it enough to justify upgrading it just yet. I'm just more of console person I guess.

Well i was gonna get an Xbox one again this year for scalebound and also grab PSVR.

Now ill just get build a new PC and then get vive or something next year.

When i can get these £40 exclusives for £6 from the ukraine store (if they keep that loophole open). why would i ever want an Xbox one again.

The GPU alone will cost you $650. Have fun building a $1,300-1,500 PC that will play the same game as your $300 Xbox One.*

*This is of course assuming you bought it last holiday season and not at launch like me.

I normally don't sell any of my systems, but I honestly have 0 reason to keep the X1 now.
I'm honestly wondering if these news will affect resale value.

Overall, this is great news for gamers, but I can't say I'm not bitter about this.

I'm not ditching mine yet, but if Forza Horizon comes to PC and the Scalebound rumors are true then I'll definitely consider it.

This. There is a market for console only owners. GAF needs to chill with the apocalyptic talk.

I have no intention of spending a small fortune on a new PC.

60$ vs at least 700$ (worthless canadian money) if I upgrade my PC. I'll go with the Xbox version. I wish I had the budget to go PC though.

If you bought an Xbox One to play these games, what has changed? Unless you already have a nice rig and prefer the PC version, it would make no sense to ditch the console you bought for these titles which are still console exclusive.

Yeah I am regretting purchasing a XBO. I have hefty pc that I upgraded for a 970. Tomb Raider? Got it for PC. QB? Why for PC of course, none of that sub 1080p bullshit. Online games? My friends are on PS4 so I will buy those there, additionally better performance and better IQ. Halo 5 was the only thing and it wasn't worth it with that shitty campaign. Gears 4 is rumored to be coming for PC too so yeah... Not feeling good about the Xbox prospects. First time ever I regret buying a console, last gen I was mostly 360 and also Ps3 and Wii but I never regretted purchasing them all.
