DRIVECLUB Feb 2016 Update Details (The City map update)

These models were added as part of the season pass:

  • Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 CE
  • Chevrolet Corvette Z06 CE
  • Chevrolet Camaro ZL1
  • Chevrolet Corvette Stingray
  • Chevrolet Corvette Z06, 2015
  • Dodge SRT Viper GTS
  • Dodge Charger SRT8
  • Dodge Challenger SRT8 392

Rushy add a C5Z and I'll be your valentine!

The breaking capability in the standard physics model is super powerful, unnaturally so. I'm guessing hardcore mode simply makes breaking distances and control under breaking far more realistic. Which is cool
Can't wait to try it out after work.
It's no GT but very nice improvement! Much more realistic.

They would do the races on bin day..

That's recycle rubbish bin day. Such attention to detail.

Still no expanded wheel support. :(

Please, match your earlier promises Evolution (and match bargain games like WRC and Project Cars) and support more wheels!

I have 22GB free space. I am updated prior to 1.25, yet it is telling me "cannot download" due to space. What gives?

I think the patch is about 12-13gb maybe Ps4 is the same as PS3 where it needs double the space to download a file and then install it before deleting the install package file?

I thought they said the patch is only .9 GB, some are saying 2GB?!

It probably needs to read the whole patch log which is probably 12-13GB, and then add the remaining 1-2GB from there. I seen that with GTAV and Destiny.

Game is so beautiful and yet so boring at the same time, IMO.
City tracks are an awesome addition, but the handling is unbearable to me. And how anyone can defend it as a spiritual successor to PGR is just baffling.

I love the handling of this game, is not a simulator but feels really really good when you master the handling mechanics. And now with the hardcore "Drift" mode is even better.

No love for the 1967 Chevrolet Corvette? I just want to relive one of my most amazing gaming memories:

Have they been adding music tracks to the game along the way? or is it still the original tracks? It would be nice to hear some new ones. I like the variant in this trailer.

I use Spotify when I want racing music, it's awesome since it's built into the PS4's OS functionality and you can control the music from a smartphone/tablet.

Pretty sure they have, and Bikes has its own soundtrack too.

Speaking of which, is there anywhere (besides iTunes) where I could buy the Bikes soundtrack in MP3 form?

BTW - loving the new track and hardcore mode. The city circuits are small, but I like the variations. Hardcore requires even more control and attention so I love it, though I didn't know what was up with the acceleration slowdown after collisions, but it makes sense. Thought it was a borked damage system there for a bit ;p

Great update, I can finally play this! Really struggled with the old physics, felt very disconnected from the car, this feels more alive!

Anyone else feels the braking is strange in hardcore mode? It obviously doesn't really turn off ABS because your wheels don't lock but their effectiveness definitely feels lessened.

I was expecting a bit more from the track tbh, at least on Dry it looks really bad to me

Especially compared to other in game tracks

Gonna try some weather next :/

@gonna switch to png, facebook compression is awful

It feels more like a race track with buildings slapped along the sides, rather than you driving through an actual city. I think maybe some of that is the width of the roads just not connecting with what you'd expect in an old town.

I'm not a Corvette guy, but the 67 Sting Ray is the best Corvette ever. Always loved the look of that car.

all these images of the new tracks, can't wait to download this tonight. My love for this game knows no bounds.

So that's what it is, guess I was kissing the occasional wall on those new courses Hehe.

Weird there's no sound or indicator.

New tracks are always welcome and the layout of the track is fine, but as far as being great to look at, this new city track is rather dissappointing, especially in comparison with the rest of the game's visuals.

Dont know, looks kinda mediocre to me.

If anything I'm just slightly disappointed there's no point to point track but having said that, I do like what we have. It looks fantastic in heavy rain.

If you have a season pass go to RPM tour and on the last championship you can choose Skyline R34, car was supposed to be available on 23rd..

Nice find. I also spotted the Honda Civic in the Evolution Tour - Some Like It Hot Hatch event. I'd wager both cars can be found in more events that aren't strictly limited to a certain car, manufacturer or country of origin.

Edit: Yep, both cars appear in at least 6 events across all tours, including the original DC tour, but curiously enough they are locked in the original tour, while playable in the DLC tours.

Is this update out in South East Asian regions yet? I didn't get any notifications to update and I even checked for updates. Nothing. I really want to try out those new tracks.

The acceleration delay feels more like a bug than a feature to me...no "collision penalty" warning and not being able to move sucks. I suspect this is modified in a patch soon, its a horrible feeling gameplay addition, besides that, the rest is great

Driveclub has some sort of temporal anti aliasing, and generally looks much worse stationary. Shots in motion would be more representative of how it looks during normal racing.

I'll give it another shot with the new handling mode. Maybe that is what was missing all along.

Quoting myself, because the update is out in my region now, currently downloading.
