Street Fighter V Roster Discussion |Thread 2| Deal with it & place your hope for DLC

I gather the 6GB patch notes haven't been revealed. I hope the update adds vs CPU in. Can't believe Capcom haven't put in one of the most basic aspects of fucking fighting games.

im currently playing without updates since i had no patience. will install later, whatcha wanna know.

Apparently there's a 6GB patch on release day so I'd calm my tits before making any accusations.

The 6GB patch is already out and does not add VS CPU mode according to the threads at Gamefaqs.

This seems like something they could turn on at the flick of a switch though so hopefully they get it sorted asap.

I like Street Fighter's gameplay and cast of characters, but I'm rarely in the mood to play online. It's too nerve-wracking. My Internet connection sucks, the slightest hint of lag takes me out of the experience, and I'm not very good at fighting games in general (no matter how much I practice), so I end up losing 90% of the time. I'm not a competitive person -- I play video games to have fun -- and not getting a single attack in isn't enjoyable to me. When local multiplayer isn't an option, I enjoy throwing the game on and playing a few quick fights against the CPU as a variety of characters.

With that said, I really don't think I should have to justify the inclusion of such a basic mode. It's 2016. Capcom ought to be embarrassed.
As someone stated to one of my other posts you can just turn training mode on and set it so it plays out like a regular match. Also there is still survival mode if you want just do a bunch of fights against the ai for a while.

just nornal vs cpu? that's not in? lol. okay will install during dinner.

Yeah it's not in the game. Thanks again. Nothing will probably be added but it's worth checking anyway.

Yes you can. You can do that in training mode. The max level CPU in the beta was a real fucker.

You can turn off hp/super refills etc and it just plays out like normal matches.

Looks like this is what I'll have to make do with.

Survival mode is there from the sound of it and wouldn't that fill the gap if you just want to fight the cou a bunch. Downside I guess is you can't just sit and do matches against one character over and over.

Yeah but I like to fight a character during many rounds or do the same battle more than one time, maybe some people don't use it much but I love fighting CPUs in versus mode.

It's not the same thing. I enjoy the presentational elements like victory animations and win quotes. We also shouldn't have to jump through hoops just to play a simple fight against the AI.

I'd rather we didn't turn the OT into a shitstorm similar to the content roadmap thread, so I'd rather not have this as a title.

To be clear, I am one of those who don't care about single player options in SFV. I just thought it was clever considering the backlash the last couple days.

While it's silly that Capcom didn't think to include a vs CPU or CPU vs CPU option, I'm a bit confused at how upset people are over this. Why would anyone buy a Street Fighter game to play with or just watch CPUs?

There's nothing confusing about it, really. Not every one plays or has the means to play online. And not every one has friends or siblings to play local multiplayer with, that's why they go with the option to play against the PC.

I do find it clever and I actually find it funny, but I thought that it'd garner too many negative reactions and block up the OT.

Now I don't really care.

This is my exact feelings on this. Training and Surival will have to do, but I wanted to see all the win-quotes and win/loss animations which I probably won't get to see now.

At the end of the day I'm still going to enjoy the game and play all the different modes for hours, but man Capcom really dropped the ball at launch. No, this isn't a case of 'it should have been delayed', it's a case of 'these features should have been here from the start'. Delaying the game for a couple of game modes is pointless. Not putting basic game modes in at launch when your previous game had them is a fucking joke. I'm still supporting this game and Capcom, but man this is a huge fuck-up on their part. I hope this gets added in soon.

If this game gets slammed at reviews for lack of content, it's gonna deserve it. and content coming later never excuses that. I just hope negative reviews and word of mouth generated from that don't adversely effect game sales but with casuals who knows, it could.

Casuals tend to stay away from fighting games the most due to the heavy realiance on taking the time to learn stuff, so there'll only be a little drop there. In terms of sales, Capcom will reach their target but I wouldn't be surprised if it was past March.

I get what you are saying but first impressions mean A LOT, hell some people still think the Xbox One can't play used games. As the saying goes, you only get 1 chance to make a first impression.

I really doubt it. As long as this game gets a decent score, it will still benefit them.

First impressions can mean a lot, I agree.

Say what you will about Capcom and their brainless exclusions but they're generally good at taking fan feedback on things like this. All it took to get a "PERFECT!" screen added in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 was a fan suggestion at an event iirc. Get Combofiend's attention on Twitter or something and we could probably see something added as early as the March patch.

I don't care much about the vs. CPU options but I am a little bit bummed we're not getting a normal arcade mode. The character stories are pretty disappointing - I didn't expect them to be amazing but I didn't expect them to consist of 2-3 anticlimactic fights and less than 5 minutes of cutscenes each.

You're right there. I just hope the game does well. I want more seasons and SF6.

Is this sarcasm?

I can never tell on this site anymore.
No, it's not sarcasm and it's not cool.

What is your shit-blasting at Combofiend going to accomplish other than bringing more hate into the world for no reason? He can't add VS CPu to launch if it's not already there, and shit-blasting won't make him any more aware of the fact that people are upset than acting like a decent human would.

I wouldn't be surprised if they bumped Alex up in the release schedule after the NYC stage reveal.

I'm also bummed about no "Arcade" mode, that's a super weird omission and I figured character stories would be like SF4 arcade but whatever

Well Well...

As someone who doesn't play against the cpu (will try survival tho) I could care less but that doesn't excuse them for taking it off. lol I'll give capcom the benefit of the doubt as always and say that whatever day one patch or them flipping a switch (since this is basically an online experience and everything is connected and also fix that disconnection thing for local play smh) fixes this
