The idea for Jeb! is to make it seem like Trump is the terrible terrible bully but it's just making seem Jeb! look weak instead.

It is stripping Bush of any leadership quality at all, he looks so weak that it's uncomfortable.

He would be better off fighting for second or third place, for the time being, and then facing Trump only when he is forced to. When it comes to Trump vs. Jeb, there is no doubt to anyone watching which one is the alpha-male.

Do you remember the King of the Hill episode with George W. where Hank shook his hand and it felt so weak?

It's that x1000

I don't think speaking Spanish would really help either of them considering who they're trying to appeal to. It's like when Harry Potter spoke Parseltongue in front of the entire class.

Eh, depends on where you're from.

No it doesn't. Same way that feliz is not felis damnit. Even if you don't pronounce the difference, that's how the word is spelled.

LOL

Both those dudes (Rubio & Cruz) get the boot from Hispanic voters for their Repbulican scarlet letter but Cruz's ass would get laughed out right away. Seen it on interviews done on Telemundo and Univison where a supposedly fluent Spanish speaker wants to do an interview in English and the interviewer is all thought you were a native speaker. That was back in the late 90s though maybe they don't care as much. That's why Cruz's Spanish sounded cringy to me, Rubio sounds more fluent from what I have heard.

I just don't get why Jeb doesn't back down from Trump and instead focus on everyone else exclusively. He needs to flat out start ignoring Trump until he just flat out has to get mixed up in that. He is never going to come out a winner in that fight.

(Going to put on my imaginary psychologist hat for a second)

I tend to think Jeb does this because he doesn't know how to deal with a bully. Think about it. Jeb is a Bush. He's had everything in life handed to him on a silver platter. He was always the rich, "cool" kid growing up everyone wanted to be around. He's never struggled in his life.

Jeb thought he could just play the Romney-2012 strategy, and walk his way to the nomination by letting the crazies burn themselves out. Jeb is out of his element when he has to fight for what he wants.

Trump looked horrible throughout this debate in my opinion. His behavior felt worse than usual and really highlighted his temper and the fact that he can't take criticism. Dude was flying off the handle about everything.

Americans need to make sure he's as far away from being in control of the strongest military in history as is humanly possible.

Rubio grew up in dem Miami streets. Cubans and Cuban Americans don't shy away from Spanish in Miami; he probably spoke it at home and with friends.

Cruz on the other hand, his dad worked overtime to acclimatize him to the anglo way of life, and probably didn't bother to teach him some Spanish.

Finishing up now, fuck that Rubio closing statement holy shit. Makes me so angry. Just generating fear/narratives that are so far from reflecting the actual realizes of our country.

This debate was the purest fuckery I have ever witnessed in my entire life... and I was agreeing with Trump a great majority of the way. No words.

Off topic, but I'm watching CNN. Anyone else here consider Erin Burnett just stunningly beautiful? I'm glad that Megyn turned me off because I discovered Erin after all of that.

S.E Cupp brah.

Trump was on fire tonight. It was like someone threw toddlers in the gorilla enclosure, and he was just tossing them around.

I'm Mexican so I can't speak on the Cuban experience but Cruz sounded fake as hell, plus he is a Republican, the people I grew up with would rather vote in a Dem that does not know a lick of Spanish than a republican trying to fake being a Spanish speaker.

Imagine how boring, on the Republican side, this election would be if Trump wasn't around. I'd have probably tuned off all chatter until there was a nominee in place.

Ya know, Trump wants to deport my ass but it takes a whole new level of vile to make me hate Cruz and the audience booing at him for mentioning he had friends that perished on 9/11 more. I felt just a bit more sympathetic. I noticed he's moving a bit more towards the center. And I had to laugh at Cruz not answering whether or not he would deport us Dreamers (who have DACA specifically).

You would think the RNC would make it less obvious they like to stack the crowds with Jeb and Rubio fans. The more they constantly boo Trump, the better he does with the anti establishment voters.

I thought he did well to point it out at the end that he is working for the voters, and not the special interests while pointing to the crowd.

She does look great. The black woman sitting at the left table is beautiful as well, not sure of her name.

Still reeling at all that happened in this debate. The contrast between what we saw on Thursday night... just unbelievable.

Bloomberg pls.

Absolutely. The biggest (only, apart from entertainment value) reason I love him as a candidate.

It's going to be so hard for any of them to combat that whole thing too. Forget about this primary, I think it's over and Trump has it. Look ahead, and it makes sense why Sanders has a better shot against him in the fall. If it comes down to Trump/Clinton, I can't imagine just how much stronger that entire point could get. If there is anyone more in the establishment, there aren't many more looked at that than Clinton. It could be very, very interesting.

It's going to be even more of a sticky situation since Trump is already starting to lean a bit more to the middle/left and the primary isn't even done yet. He said a bunch of stuff folks on the other side will love to death already. How can a Republican go up there and take up for saying no to the war in Iraq, speak out against Bush, and on and on? Insanity.

Exactly!
And he is still up in the polls.

IF he wins SC and a lot of stuff is going to go down this week, he is getting real close to getting the nom.
I'm sure the anti-Trump media thinks that he handed them the bullets tonight, they will push his 'possible anti-GOP standpoints?' to the next level.
It will be very interesting to see what Foxnews does with it this week.

I think he is getting close to the nom, and all these tactics that the party is doing is wrestling away any form of control they may 'potentially' have on him in the primary/when he is president.
Donald J Trump does not forget and does not forgive.

i thought jeb had his best debate and trump definitely let it on that he was frazzled a bit... that audience is full of evil people as far as i'm concerned

Trump was the most agreeable up there tonight, other than Kasich, and that's really saying something.

I think Trump will be getting a lot of ads against him for saying something good about Planned Parenthood. that's the chink in the armor that republicans are going to exploit.

Oh man what a night for king trump. SC is done and dusted.

yeah he straight beasted tonight, he really didn't say anything at all but managed to somehow show a position of power over the others, he was just domineering in comparison

but i only wish chris christie was around to spank rubio some more lol

I think Trump will be trouble for the democrats if only for the fact that he hates the bushes as much as a typical left wing liberal does.

If he gets the nom, he will be shitting on the bush name every chance he gets. I'm looking forward to it.

Someone should ask Ben Carson if getting rid of all regulations includes licensure for physicians and surgeons. And if he would allow an unlicensed doctor to provide treatment to someone in his family.

My favorite part of the night was Kasich looking like he was watching Japanese wrestling at a bar and loving every second of it. For a hot second there, dude forgot that he was supposed to be politicin' he was so busy reaching for the beer nuts.

Erin is a pretty good looking lady. I'd cue some slow music and have her kick of her heels after the show. No doubt.
