I have no hesitations getting my games from other services from steam ever. The problem is how they don't let the games be how they are on any other platform ever, instead they are shitty apps. Many people use lots of different tweaks to get games working to their liking, treating PC as a console is horrible.Especially with a game like Quantum Break that has demanding requirements there are so many different configurations of computers out there that you can't treat it like a console, the freedom for the user to make it work on their end is necessary. Lots of people like using rivatuner to help get a smooth 30 fps when they want to keep high settings and can't achieve 60 fps. That's not possible with these apps. For me the deal breaker is I won't be able to use my steam controller which has become my absolute favorite controller, which works with pretty much everything even decades old game, and it just won't be possible to use it because of how backwards the Windows 10 store is.
So that's why I won't be buying Quantum Break until it gets much much cheaper when I would've bought it day one full price from the windows store if they actually handled games normally.
Not even to mention simple things like ReShade don't even work, and GeDoSaTo to bump up to crazy high resolutions for beautiful screenshots that only serve to better promote games to people. I'm not even too informed on all other problems I'm sure the games being treated as apps creates but I'm sure the list goes on and I just have no desire to get a game from the Windows store. The sad thing is, if they just built a better store that I would have a good experience using I would buy games from them in a heartbeat. It's like what stuck with me when Valve addressed piracy on PC by saying they believe customers will come when you provide a pleasurable experience that's greater than pirating, people will happily pay for games, and they were very right. If only Microsoft could do that and not create such a frustrating user experience
I'm sure some console guy will say I'm just butthurt its not on steam, but whatever it's more about them still not understanding PC gaming, and many console gamers don't either.
