Wow what a disaster of a launch. The tutorial was so cringe worthy.
I don't want to do story mode for fear of losing my progress. Now that's terrible capcom/Sony.

Out of curiosity, what other stage finishers are there outside of the noodle bowl one?

Not a single fucking one other than that. They never bothered to make any other destructible stage elements since the first day they unveiled the game to the public. Some people won't even care, but I find it to be shitty.

Who said Survival mode is fun? Shit fucking sucks. First 25 fighters are brainless drones, nothing but a total waste of time. And finishing on higher difficulties doesn't unlock the prizes in the lower ones, does it?

You know what, this launch reminds me of Destiny a bit. Solid basic mechanics, rushed everything else. However, at least with Destiny online worked perfectly right out of the gate.

p.s. 30 minutes of survivalin', not a single goddamn online fight. Yes, I enabled that shit.

Holy frijoles I am the absolute worst at this game. I've read the guides, I've watched the tutorials, but really, I don't know exactly what the best way to practice is.

How long does it take to get good?

Varies per person, but usually a long time. You're gonna lose a lot but learning from your losses is how you improve.

Good call. I would have waited but I'm kind of impatient about new games. I guess I'll be waiting one way or another.

Yea I also have other factors. I need to get a stick as well lol. So I'll have the funds in a month. The light content and most launch games being broken online I can wait. I have no doubt after at least a month the game will be smooth sailing.

The launch event was real good and I can't wait to see this game in a tournament settig

This survival mode bullshit is really killing the game for me. Losing at level 29 of 30 because the ai started cheating is dog shit.

This is most similar to the Diablo 3 launch.

Destiny online launch worked fine for the most part.

Seriously? Wow, that is lame. They show off a cool, funny little thing that would be nice to see in other stages and then decide "nah, that's good, we've shown people they won't care any more."

Appdata is a hidden folder. Change that Windows folder settings, or just manualy type in \appdata at the end of your filepath name & hit enter.

I've been defending Capcom's decision to release this early for awhile now but this sounds like a mess. The hardcore community is obviously going to stick with this game but I fear the mainstream is going to move on fairly quickly. Great job Capcom. Christ.

It's absolutely shitty. This game is really starting to make me angry. It's a rushed product, PERIOD.

Given she appears in the story mode is there a good chance we'll get C. Viper at some point?

Of all the new SFIV characters besides Juri, I see her being the one that comes back. She would fit into this game perfectly.

Definitely see her bein the SFIV rep in season 2 DLC.

Good to be back in the Street Fighter game and getting my ass kicked over... and over... and over... and over... et al.

Also, FANG... God Tier.

Aside from the lack of content, i really hate how shitty the menus look, and the ergonomics of it. This game feels very unpolished from all angles. Glad i didn't pay full price for it.

At least the netcode seems decent ( when the online portion is actually working ).

It seems to be working fairly well for me. Getting matches in just a few minutes in training mode..

I think this will probably be a lot better in a few days. Not really running into too many problems with just playing the game online right now.

Yeah this is worse than early access garbage right now. I expected to at least get online matches. I'm stuck with useless "character stories" and shit survival mode. I really shouldn't have bought this. And because I got a code, I can't refund it. Ah goddamn it.

Also, some tips for training:

1. Practice your anti-airs by setting the AI to jump in on you and attack

2. Practice hitting your links. Nothing is more killer than a dropped combo in a match

3. Learn your buttons! Know their range/damage/what combos off of them/etc.

4. When you get more advanced: Crush Counter combos. Take advantage of that max punish!

Yeah, except Blizzard has the resources to fix this. With Capcpom, idk
This will fix itself in a week when the casual players move on and the server load is reduced.

There's no fixing the (deserved) scathing user reviews across the Internet though.

I started playing seriously in 2011. I'm "ok" now. I'm not even remotely good in comparison to many here and I put a loooooot of time into AE in college.

It'll take you a long while for the game to click. You're learning an entirely new genre, and one that is inherently more difficult than many of the games released today.

Also I have to agree with a lot of the people that say this feels like an Early Access game. It really really does. Nothing feels complete at all other than the actual mechanics. Almost everything else feels half assed or just frankly unfinished. Do we know when something as simple as player vs. Cpu is being added?

And you know what that means? less and less support for your game. I don't see this game lasting long. Can't wait to see if it was able to sell even 100k copies on PC lol. I hope releasing early for CPT was worth it. The only way to salvage this now IMO is release a f2p version ASAp like many failed MMOs do with heavy emphasis on microtransaction for the f2p version. Good luck to capcom they are going to need it.

Capcom have definitely dropped the ball. The betas were suppose to prepare them and the servers instead just caught fire.

I really hope this doesn't affect its casual life. I had much fun with SF4 over the years and was really looking forward to that again casually.

The content they're adding in March feels ambitious after the launch. The impressions from the beta were so good as well.

The first goal should be to learn a character well enough so that you don't have to think about which buttons do what, it becomes automatic. That just takes time and repetition. Could be a few hours, could take a few days, depending on your aptitude for learning this kind of thing. You can practice this in training mode, arcade mode, casual matches, wherever. Just playing and not hitting random buttons will get you this far.

The next goal is to learn when to use those attacks that you have now internalized. That's where watching replays (not just your own) and tutorials and guides can help in conjunction with playtime. Despite each character having a lot of moves, you can get by with a handful of them if you can make the right decisions.

It takes a long time to get for real good, but there are some basic principles that will take you from bad to passable very quickly. I thought this video was pretty cool. It was posted recently in one of the many SF or fighting game threads on the front page.

It's SF4, but it applies here as well.

We are aware that users are experiencing issues logging into the game and uploading match results, and are currently working on a solution.

I assume this is what people are getting with those ranked matches? I havent done ranked

Yikes. Capcom really didn't have a cent to spare on this game, huh?

It's not just the fact that she appears, but the situation she appears in.
There's clearly a fight scene planned there.

I assume the same for
Oro
during the Dhalsim story section.
As it is
he just kind of floats into the scene and then floats out
. It's pretty weird.

Haven't touched multiplayer yet, player level 191 from doing the story mode and easy survival for the whole cast. 253k FM.

Really enjoying getting to know the characters move sets with the braindead AI :D Rather this than training room grind.

They use it just once?

Guess Fatal Fury is still the king of this mechanic when it comes to 2D fighters, even had ring outs ala Virtua Fighter.
