Reading this thread is making me so excited, can't wait to get home and straight victory newbies to build my confidence up lol. My Chun-Li is more more than ready, and Vega can get some play time as well

Struggling against Nash players. That fucking juggle kick thing is devastating. Takes so much of your health

Even in beta I think he was my worst match up. The dude's pressure game is on point. I feel like very few characters have answers to him.

I just lost against 2 different Nash players. Making me regret my decision to main Ken until Alex hypa bomb drops next month. May have to go back to Mika and Bison so I can get wins too. :P

If anyone wants to get some games in today and the battle lounges are fixed send me a PM and we can exchange online ID info.

I should be on a good chunk of the day as I work from home.

How is this game for a relative SF newbie (not played since SF2T)?

I was contemplating the Steam version, but the lack of solo modes makes me worried that I won't be able to do anything but fight more experienced players online.

Any tips for how to handle Zangief with Vega? Had 7 wins in a row, then was matched against a Zangief and got absolutely decimated by a shitty command grab every time I tried to attack.

If you are winning to take some losses to learn, then you have plenty of content. All around it's the easiest mechanic and combo system of any SF game. So a newbie can learn it on the basic level and execute movies much easier than SF4.

You have to play footsies and find the buttons to keep him out. You go into a string and release or fuck it up you will eat SPD everytime.

If you focus on fundamentals, SF 2 is a fine place to come back from. Whether you wanna test dexterity when needed to accomplish fancier things, that's up to you. You'll eventually hit a wall knowing fundamentals alone, but it gets you a lot of mileage. Once you're comfy with basics and move sets of the characters you like, there will be plenty of tutorials online to help you with the new systems added. I think you'd dig it.

So apparently my Level from the Beta carried over to the full game (I was Level 15 since Tuesday).
Did I miss out on Fight Money because of this?

Lol i saw someone with a 8 win streak in ranked thinking he might be good. Dude was fucking terrible doing only sweeps. So right as I beat him it disconnects.... So it's possible to get a high win streak if u just disconnect in time?

I had blast playing last night. Online feels good, but the there is no psn met player function for this game. Is that because the game is crossplay with PC?

Survival is just...sigh...so fucking dumb. Dunno why they thought input reading AI was a good idea.

It was the same way in SFIV, super frustrating.

When I first started playing I fought against the AI a lot. Then I fought against players a lot. Now when I go back to fighting input reading AI it's so much more infuriating.

The same works here as it did in SF4 in that you need 1 knock down. Then hit a button as they are about to wake up (cr LP) and they will mash out DP to try to punish, and you can sweep, and repeat.

Yep. The AI has ironically been the most detrimental thing in Street Fighter as far as single player goes. It's not nearly as bad as the old MK games, but it still gets pretty terrible. Playing the AI at higher levels and then going to a human is really jarring.

Bison is the king for that.

I just wish you got something for getting to a certain level. Normal 30 only to get murdered by bison and get nothing. Not even EXP. I wouldn't expect FM since they're stingy with it anyway, but certainly I should get even reduced EXP.

Can't help but get salty. I know it's all practice mark you, but I'd like something for my time.

Isn't that all AI if they aren't set to brain dead? I've always hated fighting AI in fighting games.

It's just another area where they didn't focus much time on. Getting through 25+ waves with no sweat then to be murdered like it was nothing to prevent you from beating it and getting Colors is a fucking joke.

Lovin' how you can favorite players to check out their replays.
I got Ultradavid and arturo for now lol

Super Bronze - Bronze - League Up - League Down...

I think I'm gonna finish in Super Bronze League and take a break.

Loving the game and love playing Karin, just need to learn some actual combos and what to do when I get the crush counter.

Can you guys test something for me?

Survival with fight requests on: do you get slowdown or frame rate drops?

I get noticeable ones here and there and I don't know if that's server related, like it's refreshing or doing some shit.

This was last night when everyone had issues finding games.

Yes I had the same issue last night. Playing on PC and had my settings set to max. It wasn't an issue during training mode, but there was some heavy slowdown during survival with fight requests on. It felt like lag, but I thought it could also be an issue with my graphics settings... I'll check again tonight.

Having a rather hard time lol. Yesterday got up to 490 lp and today getting completely thrased and now back at 0. Rookie league forever.

I'm also free to play (Europe preferably ,though US isn't too bad either depending where)

Steam: Seini
capcom id: Seiniyta (am in the Neogaf SFV group)

It's true. Happened to me last night. I was 2 rounds away from a normal completion and all of a sudden the difficulty spikes and I lose. Deflates any desire to try again for such a mediocre prize.

You know what? Maybe that's it. I did play lots of single player because the servers were down.
But I leveled up so fast!

Should have probably held off on that since you don't earn fight money offline iirc, I played only training mode yesterday because of this.

getting my V-reversal game together. Awesome edition to the game.

So, how many costumes are available right now and how do you obtain them?

Servers were up for majority of yesterday for me. MM is a different story.

I earned lots of FM. My bro the same way. He earned about 80k yesterday.

What are some good buttons with Karin?
You see this?

Worship it

Yeah, right now I don't really care for fight money because I'm getting the season pass, which gives me the characters.
But I'll still need fight money to unlock all colors, right? Season pass doesn't give me that?

Lost 4 straight casual matches. Yep, it's going to be a rough ride lol

Mechanics of the game are fun though, I just got a lot of growing pains to go through.
