I hate losing to people whose character level is 0 and player level is 0 and yet they know how to play so much better. Makes me feel like such trash.

You shouldn't let this bother you. Online rank has literally nothing to do with the experience or skill level of the player.

Some of us have been competing for 15 to 20 years in these things, and many people put a hundred hours into the betas and pre-release builds at shows already.

Just like in a real life tournament, you should treat every opponent as a mystery. There is no number on any screen anywhere that can tell you if JoeShmoe82 is brand new to fighting games, or the alt account of a 10 year veteran.

Just keep fighting and learning.

My last match, 6Machine!

Edit: Didn't mean to pick Dhalsim.

Edit 2: GGs SixMachine. I clearly need to hit up Training for days. Thanks for the matches!

Lol, someone made another negative SFV thread about the steam reviews.

Well, at least the game is getting a lot of coverage I guess.

How are the servers holding up? Lobbies still working right?

Because every new SFV thread makes me double check that I don't have a magical PS4 that's been able to play most of the day.

Is there a way I can check what my connection is like(3-5?) etc. in the game? I'm having trouble finding matches in any mode. I just want to make sure it isn't my router being too old etc.

I really wanted to like Laura but have lost my first 11 games with her online. Just destroyed :(

As a SF noob, who is a beginner friendly character that isn't Ryu or Ken? Or should I just keep struggling with Laura? I've learned her special moves and unique strikes but can't find any good resources on good combos for her or advice.

Kind of lost on where to start.

only got 1 match so far although it work pretty well the 1 time I got to play. anyone want to try play? I'd like to try how my internet connection fare against people in other country.

how do you setup match? my capcom id is the same as my psn id, Callibretto

absolutely loving ryu, wish he had a fake fireball.

also, i hope we get a few more distinct shotokans, i'd be happy with akuma or oni, and a new character.

fang being partially charged bums me a bit, birdie too.

rashid is awesome tho, ty capcom.

Getting this weird error in Ranked where player info (rank, level, what system they're on) isn't displaying. But other than that it's fine.

GGs Troubled Bat, who do you plan to main?

This was my first run of Fang against a live opponent. I learned a lot. Your M. Bison mauled me because I was playing pure keep away, but Fang's normals seem actually really good. I would like to learn rushdown Fang a lot more.

Just did easy survival mode with chun, however it seems i've only unlocked a color for the battle outfit I used and not the default one? please don't tell me you gotta clear all of these with every single costume sets.. o.0

You probably don't want to hear this, but start with Ryu or Ken. Get the basics down, learn spacing, combos, cancels, etc. Then move on. They're great all around characters and really good for learning the game with.

That's ridiculous, they except people to do normal and hard like 2 times on every char to get all the colors?

welp.. I guess i'll just unlock for the battle costume now

Also say I lose on like, wave 25, do I need to restart from the start too? @_@

Just wanted to thank those of you who chimed in on my wake-up issues. Neutral jump has opened my eyes. It's incredible--baffling, really--the amount of people who try to jab or throw you on wake-up. Actually managed to hit a small winning streak in Ranked finally.

Yea I hate that about birdie. It's like all is good and then BOOM! A charged move wtf? I don't have a problem with charge chatacters., I do have a problem with mixed playstyle characters. It fucks with my head. And it is hard to keep my fingers pressed on a button while using others on my pad.

Same reason why I couldnt play juri.

I enjoy playing as everyone besides Chun-Li, Zangief, and Rashid.

I really want to learn Nash, FANG, and Necalli.

You're FANG is the way I would love to play like. Lol. But yeah, I still don't know what to truly with Bison besides be on somebody's ass. xP Yeah, his normals are honestly really great.

Catch me online! I'm YoungGoYard...

I'm drunk but I'm still doing well. Just lost to a good Gief though....not mad...it's all about the fun man. The fighting on this game is magical....you lose because you fuck up. I love it.

PS: watch out for V-Trigger to Critical Art on Gief. I think if you get sucked in you get grabbed for the super no matter what....be careful.

SFV Server @SFVServer
We are almost finished bringing our Rankings servers back online. Just doing some final checks before switching it back on.

Guys, where do you go to get some tips? I've lost the past 8 matches I've had and no matter what I do I can't win anymore, it's so annoying. Any help is appreciated.

This always happens. I always hit a level that I can't get above in fighters for some reason.

I'll try them tomorrow. Taking a break for the rest of the night. I was getting frustrated. I'll look up a guide for them tomorrow. Thanks!

I really struggle to translate what I learn in training over into a real match. I wish there were Vs CPU so I could train vs an actual opponent without feeling too much pressure.

I went and watched some matches on the cfn to help me with certain matchups.

Apparently the way to beat bison is jump around like an idiot and always end with low short.

Yeah dude so for sure. You lose you cool so easily when things don't go your way in this game. It's sort of weird for me to really master a grappler character (I play R. Mika), I've never tried to main a grappler character in a fighting game before. I used to main Guy in SF IV, so I like rush down and nutty mixups (Mika strangely reminds me of his playstyle); but right now I'm freezing when opponents cross me up or jump around a lot when they're close to me. I just know she has so many anti-air options but it's hard to know the perfect one to use in every situation. I'm getting more knowledge every match, the salty losses in this game are too real though!

play casual? IMO it's the best choice, there's no stress there, it doesnt affect your rankings.

Turn the dummy to cpu in training.

Wait 5 minutes for a match, it's another Ken... match is over, wait another 5 minutes... failed to connect. This on a 50mbps connection in a populated area. GG Capcom.
