Fire Emblem Fates Releases in NA Feb. 19th; $80 Special Edition Announced

Best Buy was late to update the release date too. I wonder if they are waiting on stock? There was some weather issues recently but not sure if that would effect them or not.

IDK but I'm going to be extremely upset if my copy is cancelled.

Edit: Has anyone at all from Best Buy received a shipping notice?

Hmmm... Best Buy apparently sent me a text saying I can pick up my SE right now. So they are breaking street date or a glitch? Dunno but gonna go try after work!

At least two of us in the OT have tried. They're not breaking street date. Feel free to try, but I wouldn't go out of my way to try.

At least it shows that you guys even have an order. I go to my account and it shows like my order doesn't even exist, I even called this morning asking what was going on but a representative told me my order was still showing up on their end and scheduled for shipping tommorow.

At this point I'll be happy if I get it at all.

set your settings on best buy to show orders from the last 6 months. if you ordered around november 12 like the rest of us it won't show up on the default last 3 months setting. i know i almost shit a brick the other day until i figured it out

Well now I feel stupid. lol Thanks for the tip though, that worked.

I was gonna get my preordered se after work from GameStop but I'm just gonna go as soon as they open to avoid any sort of screw ups they might be itching to make.

Well Amazon finally charged my card but still hasn't shipped, assuming thats soon. Prime don't fail me now.

Mine got picked up by USPS yesterday and hasn't updated tracking since.

This is a large part of why I hate when my stuff gets stuck with USPS. Their tracking is the worst.

They are horrible, and they've got the nerve to have a commercial saying they've got real time tracking now lol

Yeah, trying to retrofit tracking systems on the old postal system just hasn't worked. The way shit moves around and how many times USPS outsources packages to other services for the majority of the trip means packages don't get scanned in. They are infinitely better than they were, say, 5-6 years ago. You basically wouldn't get any sort of update back then until it was actually delivered. They still are absolute shit compared to any other service.

They also are super inconsistent with their delivery times. I'm half expecting my SE to miss the release date shipping deadline, which would be super shitty.

Talked to a BB rep who said it wouldn't ship until tomorrow. When I asked why it wouldn't ship to arrive on release date like ever other preorder I've had with them, he acted completely clueless. Bunch of useless assholes. It obviously isn't going to arrive tomorrow, but I just want a straight answer on why it won't ship until tomorrow.

So frustrating. If these cocksuckers cancel my order, I'm going to lose my shit.

Is there any history on the Nintendo LE's regarding who might have stock tomorrow? That short window for this release got me.

With Limited Stock, your best bet is to call around to your local Best Buys and GameStops to see if they got a little bit of extra stock or someone cancelled their order. Doesn't seem like Target or anyone else is carrying it. Probably will be difficult to impossible to find a copy.

The ONLY confirmed place with stock tomorrow is the official Nintendo store in NY. However, it's also their grand re-opening and the voice of Mario is going to be there, so... you'd likely need to start lining up soon.

Otherwise, I doubt anyone will have extras. Your best bet is waiting a few days and praying people don't pick up their preorders.

Just got an email saying my Special Edition will be ready for tomorrow's release and I also checked my order status and it said Order is ready for pickup! All I am fearing now is the dreaded Pickup sticker on my fates se packaging.

Yeah this is frustrating. I've ordered countless games and amiibo from them for release date delivery and they have never missed. I've been looking forward to having a full weekend to play the game for months now too. Not even an email to say it won't arrive on release like was promised when I bought the game either.

Even worse they ship my stuff UPS and it's going to sit at a center down the street from my house for two or three days until Monday when it gets delivered.

If this is how their service is going to be going forward I'm going to take my business elsewhere. Now that amazon has matched the 20% off GCU isn't the be all end all for buying games anymore.

So after a lengthy discussion with Best Buy, it turns out they don't have any idea what's going on and their best explanation was that it "should" ship tomorrow. They don't know why it hasn't authorized and couldn't offer any other help at this time. I'm glad they have GCU, but this is making me seriously just consider Amazon for future limited releases.

Duders... I know the GCU discount is nice, but this happens almost every single time with Nintendo limited editions sold by Best Buy. They're the worst, and I will never depend on them to deliver on-time (and usually, they don't at all).

I would not be shocked at all if Nintendo didn't get the SEs to Best Buy in time for shipping. My Amazon copy is shipping out of CA. Being in MI, they never ship out from that far out. It wouldn't surprise me at all if these things are coming in hot.

i ordered 2 xcx limited editions and they both were delivered on release date, dunno why the issue this time

all of my nintendo stuff including the zelda MM LE and Xenblade have arrived just fine for me *shrugs*

They are marking in store pick ups as ready, meaning they have them in their warehouses and people at the individual stores are slapping a sticker on the box and putting them aside for people. That makes it a little hard to believe that the ones for shipping just aren't there. If it was a site wide issue I could believe that they don't have them yet though and that thought did cross my mind. But I've seen tons of people saying their order was marked as ready for pick up at their local stores.

See below for Xeno, but for MM you must know that you are in the absolute minority there. That launch, in particular, was a complete bloodbath in terms of cancellations and delivery.

Xenoblade is the RARE exception. You can actually still find those at retail; that shows you how well it sold... :(

Checked my tracking on Amazon for the hell of it. They are saying 'Arrived at Amazon Facility in Brownstone, MI.' I didn't even know they shipped from one warehouse to another before getting to me sometimes. I also didn't even know there was a facility in MI. Amazon is weird sometimes. I feel a bit more secure mine will be here on time.

It's possible Best Buy got their stock in multiple shipments and prioritized In-Store stock. It's also possible their in store distribution got their stock ahead of their online warehouses.

It's also possible someone forgot to check a button that said 'it's OK to start shipping now'. It sucks that people are getting their stuff late, and it shouldn't happen, but I wouldn't assume they are screwing people just yet.

Praying for you. Hope your stuff doesn't get lost like the last couple times (in the past two weeks) amazon used USPS to ship my games.

I had a feeling BB would let me down like this, I'm going to be really disappointed if it doesn't arrive tomorrow...

it will "ship" last minute and arrive on time... most likely. At least that is how it has worked for me the last 5 or 6 times I pre-ordered a game from them.

I don't know why best buy seems to work that way while other retailers update the shipping status more immediately, but that's just how they do things.

What's the file size on each game, by the way? Wanna know if I can hold both digitally, if not I might end up grabbing the physical pack instead.

Getting really nervous about my Best Buy PreOrder. I REALLY want the Special Edition. I only have one GameStop near me so slim to no chance of getting a cancelled pre-order. Guess if they cancel it I'll have to wait and hope the Special Edition is re-released.

My CE has arrived in an Amazon facility in my state, yet it's still stated to get here Monday. Is the track package thing ever wrong?

I can't think of a time that nintendo has ever officially rereleased a special edition.

the only time I can think of that it sort of got rereleased is with the metroid prime trilogy when gamestop randomly got a stock of used copies of it.

nah I know about the MM issues, also know that most people who had them got well compensated including most of them getting the game for free.

even then that was a weird situation in general.

constantly for me. I've had a ton of things arrive a day or two late from amazon despite prime in the last year, and plenty of things that say they will take 3 days and still end up in two like they were supposed to :/

Yeah it can be wrong. I've had items arrive to me without ever being shipped. I still look at Amazon and it saids it still shipping.

my best buy has been saying mine would arrive the 24th for about two weeks now. it said id have to pick the 12.99 shipping to get it tomorrow. i preordered the 12th of November.

The tracking status on the Amazon site itself is wrong for me sometimes. If you put the tracking info into the actual USPS or UPS site it will give you a better estimate.
Usually once the package gets to your state you will have it in 1-2 days, though, in my experience.

Mine has done the exact same thing. The USPS site just shows it being picked up in CA, but Amazon says it arrived at a facility in my state. Since its further along, I'm tempted to trust Amazon in this case. Also, USPS tracking is the worst.

I was mainly meaning a release of all games on one cart. Though I wouldn't hold my breath for that either. If it is cancelled I'll likely be forced to try and find one on the second hand market.

Also, best buy got some delayed Limited Edition 3DS at one point, though that was related to the shipping issues caused by the port strike.

I was really, really pissed off that I missed the boat for the SE since I wanted to play Revelations part without waiting three weeks. Now though, I'm kind of glad I'm not going through the roller coaster of actually seeing if products ship.

Regardless I'm really not sure what Nintendo was doing with this set up. Make a product that's clearly in high demand and then make tiny stocks of them? Amiibos are one thing but I really don't like the artificial scarcity bender Nintendo is on right now. This shouldn't be some niche game with a small print, it's supposed to be a flagship title for the 3DS.
