Friends were getting way more matches than me last night even when I was accepting shitty connections.

Is there any way to see what my connection rating is incase that is causing me a problem?

Being zombified sure got its perks, the hair is sharper than a knife. Need to take note of his hair rather than his arm/punch next time.

This is more on Vega than Nash. His Cr.MP isnt too great against Crossups.

The feels when you are 0LP non ranked and get matched in ranked with a 2000+LP Silver rank...and you get bodied the first round.

Only to come back and win round 2 and 3 despite not being able to do a combo to save your life and still working on trying to remember how to even do special moves lol :p Meanwhile he is whipping out combos left and right.

And he ranked down to Ultra Bronze cause of it :P

I have 3325 LP

my last 5 matches have been against people under 1k LP.

WORKING AS INTENDED

this is boring as fuck
Well, to be fair, there are probably not a lot of players in the +3k range, that are online at the same time as you are, around your area so that you can have a nice connection.
It's either that, or the matchmaking makes you wait forever for that rare bird to appear. ^^

I noticed that somewhere in the high twenties. The CPU all of a sudden bugs out and starts landing EX fueled combos for big damage. I can't wait to see what sorts of bullshit the game will throw out once I hit the forties. This sucks, but I gotta get them Karin colors.

Look at all that single player content. Capcom did a real good job... lol.

That is a lot of LP. I can only hope to get that far as someone that never got into SF.

Gonna find out tomorrow. I'll take my 1500LP and have something nice to dream about before reality crushes me the next day.

Well it's looking like normal mode struggle colors for a while. I really want that baby blue bipson.

Yeah, they need to work on the matchmaking right now. Earlier I had around 650-ish LP and kept getting matched with people who had thousands or were on 10+ winstreaks.

I played against this guy named Nasuki or something like that that's ranked 300 4-5 times today because of it. He kicked my ass the first time Capcom, you don't gotta keep putting us together.

[edit]

Does anyone else have a hard time fighting Necalli? He has amazing pressure, if he gets right on you're ass you're fucked.

Man, I've never played a fighting game before but always wanted to. I can't play this to save my life... I can't even do combos in character action games, I was a fool to think I stood a chance of figuring out how to play Street Fighter... I hate that I can't play this awesome looking game.

Wish the tutorial was more in depth.

Zangiefs are going to be more popular when the pros start showing his tech, right now he has virtually no combos and he is slow as all fucks. Though his st MP is very scary. I think he can be really, really dangerous with that V-Trigger of his.

I still say that Gief is trash. You have to play so ridiculously patient with him plus you have to make some amazing reads, reads that the other grapplers don't need to put themselves at risk to make.

Matchmaking is pretty bad atm tbh. I can get to like 2k. But only because I keep getting matched with 1k sub players. Ran into 2 2.5k players and I just couldn't do a single thing to them

I am going on the most epic losing streak known to man. I am pretty sure I just lost a match to a Ryu that MUST have been played by a cat walking on an unattended arcade stick.

If fighting her, close range will get ya killed, jumping in from distance is okayish

I honestly feel it would be best if they just did the most logical thing and add a new character to the DLC roster, add them to everyone for free instantly when they arrive, and delete Laura.

Also I'm 40 LP and got place against a person with 1.2k LP who literally just fucked with me. Matchmaking everyone!

Let me guide you to this thread instead. Very helpful tips in there all round and all are SF V related posting recently.

Got to about 1366 with Rashid.

I'm loving him.

I'm not loving this SHITTY netcode. Every other match lags 50x worse than SF4. What were they thinking?

Also the bug on PC (maybe PS4?) where it takes forever to find a match after doing about 5 or so ranked matches. It even loads in slow and doesn't load in your and your opponents LP during the versus screen. Restarting the game is the only fix. Such trash... How do we have so many betas with that not being noticed?

Either way, still having fun. But the rollback is so bad.

Jumping in? QCF HP and you're down.

I like how Laura fights but besides her QCF moves I can't do shit with her.
Yeah, as with many characters of the cast, you can't really jump in on Laura.
From a distance she will indeed qcf.HP you, from a little bit closer she will st.MP xx vdash to mix you up, and at cross-up range she will just vdash underneath to get out of trouble.

tldr: the only safe jump option you have against her is at close, when trying to cross her up.

I sometimes swear that on the opponents screen, they have a lot more time to react and block then I do. I get people who literally block perfectly over and over again within the smallest possible window and yet when I try to block like that, the game just doesn't let me. I don't know if it's something with the connection but it feels off.

Game searched for matches for 20 minutes before coming to work today. No matches.

Debating this on a national forum over here, there's the feeling that people from different ISPs are getting different results in matchmaking. There are 3 major ISPs in Portugal and it seems that one of them is getting a lot better results than the other two.

Has anyone else had the same experience?

Let's not forget the perfect grab cancelations I still don't understand how they can counter it yet some how can never land one.

Blocking low is your best friend. Block high if you notice them in the air. Most overhead attacks take quite a while to go, so it should give you enough time to block high again

Grab counters aren't really something you react too, it's mostly just a case where people grab at a very similar time. If you're getting grabbed a lot, it's probably because you are commuting to blocking too much, and if your grabs are being countered, then your grabs are probably really obvious. Grabs work really well when you've been rushing your opponent down for a while or forcing them to block for a long time.

Just noticed something.

Does Ken's story confirm ken is actually naturally blond, no dye at all? Weird thing to care about, but It was kind of weird how they seemed to increase how japanese ken was over the years.

Yeah, playing ranked feels kinda weird for now between ragequitters and getting matched up with people with 6 to 10 times my points.

It's funny, I have yet to get a ragequitter, but most of my matches are too close because I don't have a good punish combo yet.

And the other part is that the rookies I go up against have been the scariest and best players usually. I went like .500 today against silver rank players

We are having the opposite experience lol

Yeah, this seems strength based. LP RL doesn't have full invincibility but is low/throw invincible and would hit in these cases (also I imagine EX would as well).

perhaps this will get necalli players to think in certain matchups though.

I mean once you show them you can beat it the option they thought was invulnerable, you've stacked the mental game into your favor.

I've been enjoying this and the matches I've gotten so far have been pretty good connection-wise. But man... relearning how to play with a stick is rough, I have no idea how to approach most situations. Also, getting 0 fight money from a loss is too rough. It should be maybe 1/3 of what you get from a win. This is a game where competition is incredibly fierce, everyone knows how to play and you will get bodied match after match after match. It's just incredibly difficult to find motivation if you're not being rewarded (even a little bit) for the effort you're putting in. If you're playing to get better then you'll keep going, but for more casual players who just want to earn 40,000 FM for a story costume for example, this isn't gonna work. Those 800 wins could take months of daily constant playing.

Dammit, I was just about to register for SFV at EVO when I realised that I've already got tickets for Star Wars Celebration in London, which takes place on the exact same weekend. :/
