The dithered shadows I can deal with to an extent but the 30 FPS backgrounds, yuck!

Hope both get patched. Cause the game is really good looking otherwise (except the backgrounds themselves in certain stages).

The background animations are the worst. I'm really wondering if they made the right engine choice. How did MKX have no issues with this with UE3?

Frame rate issues are really noticeable to me, but I admit, I'm not great at noticing differences in lighting quality, so I could be missing something obvious.

It's also weird how there's not much consistency. How does the NYC stage have all 60 fps NPCs yet some don't?
 
Anyone who's just learning the ropes in a fighting game like me and wants to practice some friendly matches? I'm in bronze so have been learning but I still make a lot of mistakes. Would love to play some sets where there's time to learn in multiple matches.

Finally beat a Nash who is a matchup I struggle against and he had a 3 win streak, was the first time I saw a rage quit at the end :/ what a bum.
 
Anyone have a Bison code they don't mind parting with? Would be greatly appreciated, might have something to trade if that helps. Thanks
 
I expect it later down the line, sort of like Driceclub with some of its visual upgrades.

But City in Chaos has 60 fps characters.

I believe Shadaloo base also has a mix of 60 and 30 fps characters?

In any case, this is probably low on their list of things to fix but it would be nice that they get it fixed soon.
 
Did anyone notice that getting in and out of matches takes way longer now? There's this black screen with loading symbols that I've barely noticed before and it's taking quite a while now.

Especially the beta was much faster.

They made Hooligan so much easier to do in this game. Still not HD Remix, but still good. Also found a pretty good combo, assuming I don't mash into it 90% of the time.

Cammy's sMK also moves her 1 or 2 pixels forward, too.

My take on that is that they are disconnecting you from the servers once you are beginning a match, and reconnecting you after that, probably to unload them from the charge of the opening week(s).
Yesterday I had a "connecting" message when coming back from a match, and when I would go back to the home screen my level and FM would take a little time before appearing like they would when logging-in to the servers.

I was just doing some survival and loading back into it after a match wasn't crazy long, though still longer than it should take with an SSD.

Exiting survival back to the main menu took ludicrously long though. Like 20+ seconds.

I'm on PC. I don't know if it's the same on PS4, but that's where I played the betas and it was nowhere near this shitty.
 
Wish there was a way to speed up the after match bullshit. They make you pick the stage and character in your little thingie to speed matches up yet they stuff have long unskippable result screens.
 
To the red rashido that ended my win streak last night, holy fuck. That relentless corner pressure was fucking INSANE. Definitely thinking about giving him a try after that beatdown. He seems untouchable... poke poke poke, SPINNING MIXER!! God damn.
 
Don't know if PS4 could handle the backgrounds running at 60 too. Fairly certain that decision was performance related.

I wouldn't mind the 30fps backgrounds so much except occasionally when I'm playing I'll catch a glimpse and swear I'm dropping frames, I'll take a quick look at the corner and see it's running 60fps but it's distracting. It's not a huge deal or a game breaker but I'm not overly fond of it. PC player.

30fps backgrounds are super distracting at the end of Rounds.

I'm having great fun with him. His only downfall is that he doesn't do THAT much damage. He floats like a butterfly and stings like a butterfly.

I have a feeling that this version was not completed yet and that this is the reason that it is (A) only seen in story mode and (B) empty of NPC's. Chances are that the finalized version that is selectable (hopefully as a toggle option and not via its own stage slot mind you) will have some kind of NPC presence, whether it be people or wildlife. I could appreciate it with some birds at least.

Personally I do like the NPC's despite the 30 fps or their relative low poly count. Without them stages feel a bit lifeless to me. That said, one or two stages with environmental animations instead of NPC's would also be cool, like a remake of the stormy grass stage from Alpha 2. As long as there is something moving or reacting to the fighting in a stage, I'm happy.

I definitely noticed this today. And I thought it was my Internet.

Also, I´m getting sick of being matched with players from my country ONLY. Meeting the same guys over and over again is so boring. With Ultra SFIV I used to meet people from all over the world, what the fuck is up??

Daytime Kanzuki Estate doesn't have any NPCs because it takes place before Karin's party. It's empty by design.
 
Even leaving training mode to get into the main menu takes almost a minute. That can't be right...
While having matchmaking turned on that is.

Strike doesn't give that much hitstun, at best you can link a c.MP or a c.LP if you hit it just right, sometimes a sMP if you land a counterhit

Don't think you can get a s.hk after a cannon strike. IT's only +2 on hit. if you land it deep enough, the most you'd get is a c.lp.

I'm PC too. It personally never bothered me but I agree it can take you out of the game ever so slightly when you see the contrast in foreground and back.

I'd rather have the occasional frame drops fixed. I've a i7-4790K and OC MSI 970 and every so often offline regardless of stage, I get sudden slowdown. Only for half a second and every other time I play. Given different configs I've attempted I don't think its a hardware issue.

A Fight Money match. Would be a sick way to get more FM online and would be putting something on the line even if it's fake money lol.

Yeah that was my first thought when they announced fight money. They'd have to be stupid to nkt release something like that in a year maybe.

They're tied to your level with the character. Increments of 2 at first, then increments of 5. So playing online,survival and doing story mode all goes towards getting you more colors.

Where's my job offer, Capcpom?

This is too easy you need to make it more convoluted dammit! Joe Schmoe needs to earn colours for every costume separately!
