After kicking myself for using HK and c.HK too much as mika, I won a match where I told myself I couldn't use HK at all. It was a nice feeling.

You're not actually having perfect matches. You're playing against someone who sees nothing but teleporting around and lag.

In those conditions, you really might as well play against the Computer.

I've played multiple people in lounges and have never heard this before? How do you know how my connection is? I understand your points and arguments about being wired but I really don't think attacking me because I use a wireless connection, and using baseless claims about *my* connection is conducive to the arguments being made.

I'm pretty sure you can do anything. It puts the enemy right by your feet though for a nice mixup.

I meant while hes bouncing, while hes in the air. I cant find anything that connects

Hello lovely people. Just ordered my first stick and I want to make sure it has Fighting Gaf's seal of approval. The Hori Real Arcade Pro 4, which I'll be using for SF5 on my PS4. Good entry level stick? I have it ordered but can always cancel if I hear anything about input lag or other problems, but it seems to be well regarded.

Thanks all.

GGs. You were definitely getting better as the matches went on, so keep at it ! :)

Heh thanks :). Any tips you can give me? I'm having trouble getting in with Mika against guys with projectiles. And I also mess up a lot off inputs. Tried a few times to combo into a CA but it never worked, while I can pull it off consistently in practice mode :/

I don't know what I should be doing against your Mika, honestly. But it's great to go against it.

Go ham, that's usually what screws me over I feel. Tend to lose a lot because people get crush counters on me and then just keep doing jump ins and put me on the defensive.

Though I seems to be playing way less stressed against you, probably because lp isn't on the line

Edit - also, I can jump in on you quite easily and open you up either with the combo or the crossup

Depends on your range, but you probably don't want to follow s.HK with s.HK unless you have VT available to cancel the second into more damage or you are literally at the max range. On a CC s.HK you have time to step forward into s.HP, which gives you some other options (s.HK CC, s.HP xx MK Stomp, cr.MP xx LP/EX Rush for example). If you are just inside the max range though (which you generally will be even when trying to space it for range) you can step forward into s.MK xx s.HK xx V-Skill target combo instead which gives you decent corner carry still and bonus V-Gauge.

That target combo is also what gives him that gross reset in the corner I mentioned earlier. If you do that in the corner (making sure you use near V-Skill so it actually hits) you can hit them with cr.LP or cr.LK before they hit the ground from the V-Skill and it will air reset them. You are at so much advantage while they are recovering in the air reset you can meaty them literally with whatever you want. If you use cr.LP you can cancel it directly into HK Stomp which times it to their landing frames (which is only -2 on block and if it hits will pop them up for either a DP or EX stomp follow-up), you can meaty s.HP (also safe) to go for cancel into MK Stomp, cr.MP xx LP/EX Rush, you can meaty cr.MK into LK/EX Stomp, command throw, meaty s.HK (which is a good fish attempt for a VT cancel into s.HP xx MK Stomp, cr.MP xx MP/EX Rush for huge damage), whatever. You can even meaty something like s.MP to safely try and combo back into MK target combo to loop it (or follow up the V-Skill pound into LP/EX DP before they hit the ground if it'll get you the kill/stun).
Good stuff, gonna try and have a pocket Necalli for whenever I get bored of Nash.

Let's talk story, eh?

Rashid is a cool guy.

Necalli is basically Buu from DragonBall Z.

Birdie is a punching bag in the story.

FANG will definitely attempt to backstab Bison in the story.

Vega's motives doesn't even make sense. He's with Bison for no reason. He likes crushing things he doesn't find beautiful? Huh?

R. Mika's crush on Zangief is sweet... yet it would be nice to see her behave without Zangief dominating her mind. She's the "Senpai, notice me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" person.

Zangief is Zangief. All he knows is muscles.

Dhalsim actually had a cool story that fit him.

Nash wants revenge for rushing against Bison even though Guile told him it would end horribly.

Chun Li is sweet.

Cammy wants to protect her sisters. My 2nd SF waifu continues to be awesome.

*sarcasm*: Ken is totally a great, dad! Focus on your wife and kid, man. Maybe its time he lets go of fighting or stop rushing into fights every two seconds.

Laura's story was very meh. I still feel like her prololuge was a waste. It wasn't exciting or even entertaining.

Bison is doing what he's always been doing. He's as scary as Bowser from Mario. He's been around so long that any intimidating factor he has is gone.

Karin is Karin.

Ryu is Ryu.

Cameos = potential DLC characters

Ed = the next wannabe Juri.

Thanks all.

I have one and really like it, although some people change out the Kuro buttons for Sanwa.

Personally, I have almost no experience with arcade sticks and the Kuro suit me fine for now.

I wish they had character stages which played the character themed music. Dhalsim has one, Laura has one, but some of these others are just random stages.

Me too. This and more stage transitions has been what I was hoping for since the game's unveiling in fact (naysayers be damned).

Seems like Capcom for some reason decided that character specific stages would be too much of an effort with 3rd Strike (not New Generation, 2nd Impact or any of the SF games before that mind you - just 3rd Strike for some reason). That game however, unlike IV and V, at least made it so that each of its stages, if it was not still tied to a single character (which some of them were to be fair), was at least shared by (I think, at most) two characters so that each character could still call one stage his/her home so to speak. They even made different variants of stages to complement each character that shared it.

After seeing that each character's art showed a (sometimes offscreen) scene from a stage, I had good hope that SFV would at least feature shared stages again like 3rd Strike. So far, that is only partially true unfortunately, with many characters still missing their stage like you said. Maybe with their new service-based model revolving around in-game currency, the chance of getting a few more stages has become bigger. Fingers crossed that at least all of the newcomers will get one, and that some of the DLC characters will get one too (especially if some of them can share one that suits them all).

man ive been pretty positive so far but 20-30min waits between matches and inability to use battle lounges is starting to take a toll on me. The "dude just move on" switch is clicking in my brain, and I cant refund it either because I have 15 hours in game now (of which like...2(?) were actual gameplay, so im kinda stuck with a dud here.

My evening was literally spent waiting for matches and playing the 3 that popped these last 3 hours, while tabbing out to browse gaf. I could be playing an actual game that works, but because Im loving the actual fighting, im sitting here going "well maybe a match will pop soon"

And doing training while waiting isnt really my jam so... yeah. Really bummed tonight, heh. Not exactly sure what to do, give it a rest for a few days hoping it improves, because spending what little free time I have before work like this is killing the game for me.

nevermind...but yeah reporting stuff to @sfvserver may be helpful for them getting data points on users still having issues with matchmaking

These fucking rage quitters!!!

There was a ryu who had 1900+LP and 29 wins.

I managed to beat him one round, was tough but doable.

He fucking quitted.

I hope quitters will be banned for 1hour or so. This shit is fucking annoying!

Oh man. I fought Ken for the first time on ranked. First round he -ruined- me because I tried to zone, my friend watching me stream recommended I try rushdown instead.

IT WORKED SO WELL.

Rashid's pressure is so fun!

Entry level!?? That's an awesome stick with some nice proprietary parts. The Hayabusa stick by Hori is God-tier imo. The Kuro buttons are good but I still prefer Sanwas.

I was experiencing this earlier, maybe you tried this but changing connection setting from 5 to 4-5 made a big difference for me.

You would definitely gain alot from becoming better at block the crossup jumpins. You're very easy to beat if you can't block those consistently

Time to pull out a character I don't know how to use.

This was me with Nash just now. Got owned hard in Battle Lounge but it was way more one-sided than it should have been. Nash just doesn't seem to click with me. I want to like him but just can't find a rythm yet.

And yet...I took to FANG immediately. Go figure.

Alrighty. I'm out. GGs! It was a great fun set! Your Mika is good, and I just can't figure out what to do for myself with that character.

Play ya another time!

Edit: Ouch.
