10k really isn't that much

Yeah, I'm speaking from my own experience that it would be nice in case some people lost FM. I lost about 4,000 FM from the character stories due to the servers not responding and giving it to me when I was online. I think I ended up with about 156,000 FM when I was done with story mode.

The servers is really killing this game for me. It's something new every freaking night. The game is GREAT... the online... just flatout terrible. There really is no excuse either. It really seemed like they had the online down in the final beta.

Fucking servers. Guess I'll call it a night.

Made a little progress. Won two out of ten or so fights, and had a couple other close ones. Getting better at footsies, pokes and defense. Though still have a lot of work to do there. I suck at anti airs and punishes with Chun Li though.

Thanks to a nine win streak I managed to reach a new high of 1944LP, but two losses against an annoying Necalli and the server crapping out seems like the game's way of telling me to give up for the night before I drop below 1807LP. Still can't get past level 32 (Rashid?) on hard survival mode. Capcom messed up so bad with this game outside of netcode and actual fighting...

Anyone know what Karin's gameplan is supposed to be against Vega, Necalli and Zangief? I can handle Vega somewhat, but the other two's buttons seem to be made just to kill me.

The netcode is great, but the lack of local FM storage during disconnected periods, the lack of automatic server logins and the fact that the game boots you back to the main menu with every disconnect makes for a horrible experience. I don't blame anyone that refunded the game.

I was doing story mode and lost connection to the server while in the epilogues loading screen.

I'm missing fight money, is there any way to fix this or am I screwed?

Played first match, casual. I liked it! Got my ass beat, but not bad. Just took a couple mins to get into a battle.

I faced a lvl 29 if that matters, and I am lvl 0 ;)

How bad were servers when SFIV launched? Just as bad? I don't remember having this many issues with SFIV.

They didn't really use servers back then. However, matchmaking was probably the best by far of any fighting game I've played for SF4 at launch due to the sheer number of players. The netcode itself left a lot to be desired.

It's crazy that it boots you from single player games when you're disconnected :(

I've always been a fairly casual Street Fighter player, but something has bitten me with this one. Shame I can't play much of it at the moment.

Um .. so.. I don't have PS+ but have been playing online since launch with no problem.. Anyone else?

Damn man.. was doing so good. One hit against to win against someone 2 ranks higher than me... Servers die again. This is getting fucking annoying.

win game - not uploaded to server
win game - not uploaded to server
win game - rage quit ken
lose game - EVERYTHING IS WORKING PERFECTLY NOW

I've probably lost 300 points to this..

Alright, so fighting games are kind of a blind spot for me, and I've been seriously eager to make SFV the first one I really dig into, but everything I've heard has convinced me to wait at until it's fleshed out a bit more.

So I decided to pick up the Street Fighter Alpha Anthology instead. Have I made a good call? Is this going to be a good starting point, does this collection have proper versions of those games, is there better way to introduce yourself to SF, am I a fool for delaying picking up what really looks like an incredibly fun game?

After I decided to hold off on jumping into SFV, I started looking at the series as a whole, and tried to get a decent grasp on which games are available on which platforms. There's a lot to go through, isn't there? Champion this, Turbo that, Hyper this, Super that. And somehow instead of landing on a numbered title, I ended up going with this mysterious but apparently beloved Alpha subset of games.

Sorry if this isn't an appropriate thread for this post. But I've been mostly alone in this decision making process, and this seems to be where all the SF fans are. :P

PSN has a free weekend right now. I can't explain the other days though.

Oh! That might be it. I didn't actual play online matches until this morning. I remember being able to play the beta without PS+ either, but I assume that was just a beta thing.

I wouldn't mind if we went back to street fighter iv's p2p again, the delay didn't affect me much, I mean we already have lenient inputs for online play.

If you're interested in learning SF5 you just need to play SF5. The core game is fine right now other than the server issues which will probably go away after the next week or so.

The best time to get into a fighting game is right at the beginning. There's such a large pool of new players right now, and you'll potentially miss out on that if you wait a few months.
