You mean the Madcatz Fightstick PRO? I have the regular version and it worked fine with this game on PS4.

I didn't know if there was any difference in sticks based on the art or w/e. Dumb question I guess. For the record, I'm referring to this stick:

I think you're missing my point. I understand that Fight Money has to be online only to prevent abuse. HOWEVER, the problem lies in the fact that the Fight Money system is tied to every.single.unlock in the game. Not just characters. But Stages, Costumes, their Colors and even Titles. You know what this means?

It means that because Capcom wants you pay Money for the things they're also charging for, it means that every other thing in the game that can also be unlocked is going to be a complete, tiresome chore to get, so you get frustrated enough to the point where you use your Fight Money on them instead of on the stuff that costs money.

That is how mobile P2W design works. They break you down to the point where you either pay or quit.

But P2W is... for things where you pay to get something that helps you win. None of those items help you win, they're all aesthetic. I think you're looking for a different phrase.

Even still, everybody seems to be frustrated by how they've handled colors so maybe they'll take the feedback about it and allow you to unlock them some other way besides FM or Survival. Like, let's say they put in Arcade Mode maybe that'll be another way to unlock colors. Or, maybe they'll actually go with the Character Level/Player Level as a way to unlock the colors.

Too many unknowns. Give them a chance to make changes, see how they react to things.

And you can't assume Arcade Mode is going to have braindead AI. Survival is intentionally designed that way and to be honest, that's how almost EVERY Survival mode is in many games. There's probably a few that are actually designed with progressively better AI with each fight but it's not the norm.

If they're going to include an Arcade Mode (which by what they've responded with they are) it will almost assuredly have a difficulty slider/options.

I think you mean F2P.

Looking at how much it takes to win FM calculated earlier in this thread, it doesn't seem like the grind is going to be super insane. Once we get dailies, challenges, a better story mode, and the Twitter-hinted arcade/CPU mode, the grind will be much less than it is now.

The biggest issue is the network problems, and once they iron those out, so long as the FM acquisition is stable, I doubt most people are going to be "broken down" to pay or quit.

Capcom has to make money, but at the same time, the consumer has to be able to earn the stuff at a reasonable pace without ruining the economy for those who choose to pay.

Yeah, I know. BUT they're a complete pain in the ass to get. Why? Because you're going to be able to get them with Fight Money, which is what Capcom wants you to do instead of using them on DLC characters.

It's not an all or nothing situation. People will most likely earn the colors they want for the characters they want. If you wanna get them all and don't have the time to grind, you can get them with FM or pay for them. The AI is what makes this whole thing stink, as does the awful system where you have to earn colors per fucking costume.

Wow just lost twice, points gone.
Won twice "could not upload bla".

PJSalt

Yea not even gonna attempt ranked until this gets sorted out. Not worth the anger.

Just gonna keep playing casul matchmaking and casul lobbies (whenever they work)

I'm convinced when the store opens they are going to allow you to buy colors with fight money and that's why they put them behind the ridiculously stupid survival mode. Forcing players to play a 50 fight survival mode where one death makes you start from the beginning is the dumbest thing I've ever seen.

Just got the game yesterday! Played all the betas, I was super bummed someone took my name(MrMcFly) but I like my new one. Rise up GAF! Time to hit online with my boy Ken

Let's all please ask ourselves...."WTF with these load times?"

BB had better load times at launch....sheesh.

Yeah it's garbage but perversely I'm glad that so many other people are having the same problem I am. Now instead of worrying about my setup I can worry about whether Capcom has the resources to actually fix this shit.

Edit: For those with loading time issues, are you offline or online? PS4 or PC? Every time the servers shit themselves on the PS4, my loading times go up.

That's my experience so far, when cornered there isn't a single button to save me except V-Reversal.

You ain't lying. Best way to deal with the corner is to stay the fuck out of it.

I got merked by a bad Birdie first round because I got backed into the corner and there wasn't much I could do.

That being said, a sweep and hop, or a better use of vtrigger would have saved me. A throw probably would have sufficed as well if you can bait them with the knee.

People are speculating it's related to server load and since this is a free PS+ weekend there's a ton more people logging onto SFV's servers that probably weren't before.

Just had a rollback take me from a KO to a loss
Cool, thanks Capcom

Games take forever to load, and when they do, 90% of the time they've got some bullshit in them that throws off the whole game flow

Seems like a waste of fight money to be honest when you will have the option to buy extra costumes, stages and characters. I know I wouldn't waste my precious digital currency on them.

Is anyone having issues with Battle Lounges? Aside from occasionally telling me that no lounges fit my search (despite being incredibly general), I can never actually join a lobby when it shows up. It either tells me that the lobby is full or doesn't exist anymore.

They're broken again as far as I have read this morning.

Tested this out at a LAN center last night.
what in the fresh hell did they do to Karin?

I couldn't get any of her classic moves to go off. Maybe I just don't get SFV enough, getting bodied by some cheap Nash didn't help.

I'm having fun learning Karin as I never picked her in previous game(s) at all. Agreed about Nash. Who thought it'd be a good idea to give him an airborne cross-up teleport?

He needs it to escape corner play. Once you learn when it comes out you can stuff that shit on reaction and really mess up his shit.

Nash isn't really that bad. His Jaguar Kick can get stuffed, his meter stealing requires a hit confirm or a sleeping opponent, and the second he gets vtrigger you know he's going to use it soon.

Anyone know when they're adding directinput to the PC version? Got my Chun Li stick in and wondering if I should download x360ce for now or stay with pad until they patch it in.

Whats the best order of action if you've been knocked down? Just try to stand up and block whats coming your way? I have big problems with this, because my opponent just keeps on beating on me the second I stand up. It's hard to block everything

this really sucks. every day since launch I've had 0 luck finding people online outside of one match. It's really frustrating especially because it seems like there's plenty of people able to find games fine. what the shit >:(

Depends on who you are facing and what character they use. You can empty jump to catch people off their game, grab them, block low, block high, or v-reversal.

Really hope SFV's online is fixed by next Friday, because that is when I'll be fully back on. My few days with it was an excellent experience mind.

Dont always do quick get-up, maybe try backwards recovery, use a safe Ex if you have one. Patience really.

Additionally, Capcom is looking actively into adding native DirectInput Support, expanded key binding, resolution switching, and more in an upcoming patch for the game.

Native DirectInput support – this was one of the more consistent requests we’ve received from the PC community. We realize many fans prefer to use their existing PS3/PS4 compatible Arcade Sticks on PC which are DirectInput-based, so we are actively looking into adding this feature in an upcoming patch. In the meantime, players can use popular XInput remapping tools such as the X360CE[www.x360ce.com].

That makes sense, I'm just salty for getting destroyed by any competent Nash I come across. So much to learn. #partofthejourney

you know that stage with the shop and bus you can get knocked into, I didnt realize this but you can enter the shop :O
Yeah, this was one of the first things they showed off, stage transitions. Didn't make it into the other stages though, even though the areas seem to be created already.

Drives me nuts how long it takes from a ranked match back to training mode. I should get a book to read or something.
