Street Fighter V |OT| No Options to Select

just fought a Ken that kept mashing crouching jab... dude this isnt SF4, that doesnt combo anymore :p

got a little 5 win streak going here, but every game is a struggle... Im just not feeling Birdie. Help me Birdies!
 
I still have trouble beating good players with R. Mika. If the player isn't very aware of her style of play I can beat them pretty convincingly but if someone knows it's hard to me to play my game.

Thinking I may play some Laura as well to mix it up.
 
Shitty thing about playing fighting games early is that combos aren't widely known and good videos about characterd don't exist (the beta ones don't really apply)
 
Sometimes Survival normal mode fights 26-30 are in the level of sf4 Seth at hardest difficulty or harder. The Ai predicts everything you do and if they hit you they can do 40-60% dmg. This shit is too hard now, never had a problem completing first time with Ryu.

Capcom is taking their sweetass time releasing those character videos. Kinda wanna see the ones for the new characters.
 
I just bought this. Why did I just buy this. I wanted to wait for March and I still need a PCB for my stick, and I still have no idea what PCB i even should get.

Took me all day for him to click yesterday, but once he does it's a lot of fun. Going from vega's speed to his sluggishness was a pretty big hurdle. Just remember, his buttons are amazing, and you never have to let anyone jump on you ever again with his godlike Cr.mp. You're in a good position to be aggressive after anti airing as well.. S.Hk works A LOT as a follow up, just be weary of invincible reversals.

Nah I quoted you right. Just remember you saying you can't play online at all. Changing it to NAT2 has allowed me enter lounges now rather easily! Too bad though that can't be a fix for you. :P

you cant tell if its a ragequit. might just be a legit DC, its the same code

I always forget c.MP in actual matches. And standing MK which is godlike, and I always forget. I do use the jumping MP (which crossups) at least :(

Also, I cant land a fucking air chain to save my life, I never predict it lol

Shitty? I absolutely love it. People are playing on an even playing field without too much knowledge out there. It's a great feeling.
 
Oh God, got killed by Vega on level 93 of hard. Which is only because I had only like 30 percent of my health because for some reason it Gave me 3 LOW HEALTH SUPPLEMENTS in a row in the rounds following.

Yes, but if the person "disconnects" two or three times in a short period, they could go to the "quitters valley" or something like that.

If that guy's internet is terrible at the moment, he can stop playing ranked matches to avoid the punishment.
 
and the streak is dead to another Ryu. Ryu is my bane on Birdie apparently

The shoryuken character discussion forums are a great place to start. Also bafael on YouTube has some great combo vids with pastebin links with notations.
 
So is anyone else experiencing ranked matches not registering, or am I just on a bad streak of rage quitters? I should have a 10 game win streak but my last 5 matches didn't count.

EDIT: Aaaand of course my one loss counts. Fuck this game.

As a dudley player from sf4 I don't think Karin is all that comparable to him. I came into sfv expecting to play her for that reason, but she handles very differently. Her command dash is hardly comparable and she uses far more of a footsie game than dudley wants to.

Caved in and ordered this last night from Amazon since I got it for $25 after the prime member discount to $47 and some store credit they gave me for another order coming late... I just want my cammy.
 
I feel like Necalli is super underrated. Dude is so hard to fight against, command grabs, infinite v-trigger mode, shoryuken, fullscreen charge move, insane dash, huge dmg and easy crush counters

Necalli's dash up, command grab is 2 frames faster than Ibuki's overhead in USF4.

His dash up, cLP is only 1 frame slower than Ryu's overhead in USF4.

Necalli is fast.

actually just got into a random battle lounge and played a match.

then the next 3 I tried failed to join. Like...whut >_> If I can get matches via matchmaking (albeit slowly most times), and apparently I can get the odd battle lounge, that cant be on me right? That has to be on Capcom? :/
