I often prefer saving up as Bison. His CA is the best anti-air in the game, which is usually his weakness, and if you have 3 EX bars you can do 80% of a person's life bar from two combos in V-Trigger.

Though TampaBison is making me consider using EX Psycho Blast more.

Rashid's is an amazing anti-air too, you can even adjust the positioning a little bit. But Bison's probably has more forward range.

Was wondering if anyone else has a graphical glitch.. noticed that the characters during gameplay have scanlines and are slightly transparent (you can see the background through the skin).. playing on the PS4

Wtf is going on with the matching right now. I went from playing with rookies to fighting against bronze level players. My lp is I the 200s against 500-600 players

Lost 2 in a row

Well ranked was fun until I encountered a ragequitter... Anyone down for a couple FT3's?

ID: xTaKeR

Thanks for the matches! Was a bit one sided but oh well. Mika seems to struggle against characters with good buttons so I don't feel all too bad about it. Footsies with R Mika is really hard so I try not to get suckered into it alot.
Was jumping a lot and tried some random stuff as, quite frankly, don't see many ways Mika can get around well blocking players. Only thing I should have punished more was your backdashes on wakeup. No clue why I didn't manage to do that.

Maybe some more command throws to mix things up? Probably. Main problem is getting in and getting an offensive going though.

Interesting matches though, you beat me with better basics.

Either that or you leave the venue without saying goodbye to anyone

Nothing better than a salty ChrisG. Okay okay, maybe a salty Sanford.

The gap between 200 and 600 isn't that large. Players stuck in the 500-600 point range are still losing more than they're winning.

are you looking for players with 201 points? that's not a huge jump....

it's better to ignore LP altogether currently.

So far i've found all characters EX moves to be worth more than saving it up for a Super. Kinda wish we still had a separate Ultra bar :P
Cammy's super is way more useful most of the time than any of her other moves sans EX Strike - which she doesn't rely on as much as 4 this time around.

Same goes for Chun, IMO. You don't really need meter that much unless you're getting knocked down constantly.

GGs Huggster :D

was a little laggy in spots, like it would have little drop then go back no normal for me. You try to host next time, see if its better. I need some food, that was fun. :)

I can't win a single game online and can't beat Normal Survival, I'm trying to read stuff online and understand *how* to play this game but right now it feels a bit like digging through a concrete wall with plastic cutlery.

For example:
- Keep seeing the word tech
- Look it up and barely grasp what exactly it means
- I think one form of 'tech' is cancelling a grab with a grab input of yr own?
- Log into the game and attempt to practise it
- Completely fail and become baffled that some people have the reflexes to pull that off.

I swear so many moves in this game feel like they require you to be psychic. How am I supposed to react or interrupt to someone's attack when it's hit me and I've taken damage before I even recognise what they're doing? Things like Mika's downright-kick which as far as I can understand is a kind of air intercept move?

Teching a throw isn't really something you do on reaction it is more about reading the situation and making the choice to do it. It's a really hard read to make without a lot of experience so don't stress it too hard, it comes with practice.

Absolutely agreed. I'm upset that there is no 'random' choice for battle music. I'd like to hear stage themes occasionally too.

For sure. I mean I like the character themes and all, but it's a bummer that you can't listen to the stage themes unless you're in Battle Lounge or local VS.

Well, if I learned anything from that set it is that I have no clue how to open up people with R. Mika! Holding back > my Mika D:.

Hey sorry but I had to run for about 10 mins. I definitely wanted to play more as I rarely play R.Mikas! and you have the combos and footsies down, but yea I suffer from the same problem where I hold back mostly when you had me in the corner XD. If you want to play again send me an inv!

Great fights Rhaknar! You're too good for me. I'm not very used to fighting Rashid either. Dude is crazy! Have to do it again sometime

I really dislike the matchmaking system in the game. Really really.

I'm on a losing streak why do you keep matching me with people with 3 and 4 win streaks???
You'd think the matching system would try and pair previous winners with other winners and losers with losers, but NOPE! SFV matchmaker be all like "I need to feed this Ken player's win streak with the blood of a salty Nephtes..."

Oh wait... A Ken player did you say?
I'm winning again yay!

Wow, there is one german rashid player that lags super hard and I bet he does so on purpose.

But I'm actually surprised that loading into training mode doesn't take forever anymore.

The Fighter ID is attached to the Steam ID, right? So I could delete the game, install it agaon on another HDD and my ID plus all the fighting data would still be there, right?

They've said that they're working on it but it remains to be seen how long it takes before a fix is implemented.

I hope they have a way to recognize actual disconnects vs rage quits. I don't think they do though....which is why I think they shouldn't penalize the person rage quitting but just give the benefit to the player still standing. Give him the LP and end it.

How can you adjust Rashid's positioning?

Bison's have very little forward range. Its advantage is a huge number of active frames and the 360 degree hitbox. It will even hit Dhalsim teleporting behind you.

Lol this literally my situation. I am on a 4 game losing streak being matched with people who are on winning streaks and higher up.

dude 10-6 is far from "youre too good for me"

Im trash. and so are you. we're both trash, we dont know any combos, its like we're playing SF2...

...so its fun lol. How was the lag? I assume you had the same random spots where there was a little slowdown, and then otherwise it was fine? You should still host next time

It did the same thing when the servers were offline tho.

Do you ever get this issue when playing offline? A friend of mine got framerate issues, so he tried playing in windowed mode, and when the framerate went down, he checked task manager and there was a process called "system memory and compressed memory" that used a lot of RAM.

I will mention that I don't really know about what he's doing here, so I cannot at all say how safe this is, but my friend did the virtual memory stuff that's being done in this video and it helped him: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z6pA97s28i4

Edit: Actually, my friend started having issues again today, so this might not have been the fix for his issues.

they need some sort of algorithm. They're either not using one at all or it really sucks.

I feel like it needs to check: League Points, Rank, total online matches played.

Check those 3 things and spit out an opponent closest to where you are overall.

Why can't I log in?

It's trying forever. Like 2 minutes at SFV logo screen before it fails, and I need to retry. I already did close out the app on my PS4...

Edit: Finally. 5th try waiting 2 minutes a pop...jesus

I don't think the 200-600 range is that big of jump. Am currently hovering around 1000 and get matched up against anywhere from 800-1600.
Anything above a difference of 1000 is bullshit though.
Well they are definitely at a higher skill level than me

How can you adjust Rashid's positioning?

Bison's have very little forward range. Its advantage is a huge number of active frames and the 360 degree hitbox. It will even hit Dhalsim teleporting behind you.

Once activated, Rashid's tornado CA can be moved by pressing forward and back. It's kinda like Honda's neutral jumping HP (the stop sign) from SFIV. So if you activate it but you know you fucked up, you can hold back and get ~1.5 training room blocks away from your opponent. Or if you're going for the chip, you can hold forward which will make it difficult to backdash or jump away.

Rashid's CA also hits really really high. Like peak of Vega's barcelona jump high.
