Jeez. I only played ranked. Getting regular 6-10 game win streaks. Against 2000+ lp people. Well because of the server issues I thought I'll play some casuals for now. Oh boy I'm getting beat almost every game. It's not like the people in casuals have a high lp. Most are lower than the ones I fight in ranked. But what the hell man. This has been a real eye opener for me. I really need to step my game up big time. It's like I'm good in ranked and than turn to shit in casual lol.

Can't you do it without the spike at the end?Shouldn't take away too much damage away and you'd still have a v-trigger move for some more shenanigans afterwards.

Yeah i recommend playing casual to get better. Since this game don't track win/loss ratio you literally have nothing to lose. Its the ultimate mode to try new things/character. Instead of testing things in a dummy you can actually play another human to get better.

You can, but I haven't gotten the Spike xx CA. I can get one or the other.
I'm sure someone else has already done it, but I want to see what I can do.
I also have no clue how to Arrow > Spike with Trigger on in the corner.

This is my first fighting game, really every. I have to say I am enjoying myself immensely. Never thought I would. The Elite Controller really helps with this nice D-Pad until my fightstick come from amazon.
It is so refreshing to not HATE losing. I obviously don't like to lose, but there are very few games where I am not mad losing. Most games have at least one unfair mechanic to make the player feel good and whoever is on the receiving in feel awful. Everytime I lose in SFV though, it is because the other player is just better. No angst, they just straight up beat me. I work with getting beaten!
Just need more people to play with, or at least willing to play with someone who is no where need "mediocre" let alone "good."

Gaf, I asked before, but anyone play Vega wanna give me a quick run-down on him? Good AA's, bnb, good normals. Any reason to go into Claw Off mode aside from the command throw (maybe as a way to reset its damage level if its about to be knocked off?)

I'd say get into lobby, can be frustrating eating dozens of losses in a row, but theres no better learning experience. One plus to these small lobbies too, get all that 1 on 1 time you need.

I had the same issue when playing matches just now. Had I gotten most of my ragequit wins, I'd have easily been comfortably in silver ranks but like over half of the people I beat just quit and the other half were of such low rank that I only got like 25 points for each win.

I'm also irritated that my previously near perfect netcode experience is suddenly really choppy even in 5 bar matches. I'm finding these matches really quickly, though.

So, after an hour of continuously disconnecting Battle Lounges with my friend in town and 3 ranked losses to teleporters (rapid movements appear out of nowhere) and 2 rage quits when I hit KO in final round, I want to smash my stick in half.

I am having an infuriating problem with lag with this game (PS4).
Every match is a total lagfest, both characters teleporting around, hardly any inputs registering. Even the character introductions have frame skips. Doesn't matter whether they are in the same country or whether they are playing on PC or PS4, it's still a terrible experience. Most of the time me and the opponent just resort to crouching next to each other and mashing cr.HK until one person wins.
I tested my internet on the PS4 and everything seems fine, <50ms ping, wired connection, 0% packet drop, 18mb downstream, 2mb upstream, NAT2 connection to PSN. Other multiplayer games on the ps4 play perfectly, I just tried BF4 and it plays absolutely fine. Only SFV seems borked.
I have tried nearly 20 games over the last few days now, about to give up with playing this game online. The funny thing is, the lag isn't that bad in the first 2 or 3 seconds of each round then becomes completely unplayable. Any tips to solve this would be greatly appreciated!

Sounds like someone is streaming something while you're playing.
it could be the other player, that or the server would be my guess.

there's something to it when you see that you can beat the person in at least one round, but consecutive losses are the polar opposite of fun for me especially when you pick up on your mistakes but are still completely below the other person's skill level >.>
