I dont know why people would RQ in casuals there is literally no penalty for losing. The game doesn't even count your w/l ratio.
some people are just really competitive I bet and it gets the best of them, not everyone can take what they thought of as a frustrating loss in stride. They probably just shut off their console on the spot.

At least that's what I assume for casual. For rank it's for the streaks and points and whatnot.

I don't think it's going to stop any of those people honestly. If two wins alone give you more LP than you'd lose in a DC penalty they'll always find a way. They'll fire up a torrent or jiggle a cat5. I think the bigger issue are dudes who are actually decent who do RQ after a 20 plus streak of legit wins.

Nah, if RQing costs 100LP they will actually be far below the ranking they could earn legitimately. It was how SF4 solved that problem. You couldn't disconnect your way to a better ranking.

Of course, SF4 had boosters ruining leaderboards anyway, but still.

Capcom should stop making stupid Online achievements for their games, then. It ruins the fun of everything.

RQ'ers must be super miserable in life to resort to the equivalent of flipping a table and storming off. Why waste your leisure time doing something that a significant part of the time, isn't fun for you?

Yessir, cfn id is: dubbmobile

Definitely not great at the game yet but really want to improve. Want to actually get better at this game instead of remain stagnant like I did in SF4.

Okay watched 2 games of you against GiaSekando26.

First of all in those two matches I didn't even see one attempt to command throw her or use your v-skill dash. Both those things are what make Laura's character. Karin never had any excuse not to block, cause you never put the fear of being grabbed into her. Also not using you're v-skill dash limits your mobility greatly, and that's one of her best assets.

What I did see you doing was a lot of pokes that really didn't do much because they were either blocked or you didn't follow them up with anything. You threw out quite a lot of unsafe moves. Her QCF+MP should only be comboed into, not at range. Same with her EX unless you know they're going to throw something out you'll armor through. Also her v-skill overhead is crazy unsafe, and you threw it out a lot. It should be used pretty sparring imo, as the risk for reward ratio is pretty damn low. It's something you wanna do when you know your opponent isn't looking out for it.

As for the match up itself, I saw you not punishing some of her blocked specials etc. That's just something that'll come with experience. The big failing was just the overall lack of any pressure put on her.

"You seem to be having frequent connection issues. In order to allow you to contact your ISP and fix any issues you might have, we've granted you the courtesy of preventing you from matchmaking for the next 24 hours."

I'm glad the maintenance yesterday seems to have vastly improved the server, at least on the US East Coast. I had the fastest match making I've had yet with the full game or final beta. Ranged from 30 second to a couple minutes at most the couple hours I played tonight. Load times for getting into matches and back into training mode were much better too. I saw a few failed to retrieve data errors after matches where it just didn't show the updated LP etc., but my LP and fight money always updated appropriately afterward.

I had a nice mix of opponents as well across both ranked and vs., a pretty good split of people who bodied me, people I bodied (mostly people even newer to the game then me) and close three round matches.

I called it a night after an easy casual match where it got my first online perfect KO in the second round. 😀

Wow that definitely helps a lot. I gotta stop being so scared talk on here lol. Will try to incorporate that advice moving forward. Appreciate you taking the time to help!

Officially tired of the Karin army now. I beat most Karin players pretty easily, like 9 times out of 10, so it's rare that I fight a genuinely good one that doesn't follow the flowchart. But, why did Capcom give her so many gimmicks? She's got the 6MK overhead (which I'm fine with), she's got the Ressenha (214+Punch) followups and the only way to blow that up is to either Anti-Air her as she does it or block it and Jab punish her. She's got her V-Trigger Rekka gimmicks. Plus she's got that MujinYaku (214+Kick) with overheads...

The character didn't need all of these gimmicks. The only point these gimmicks seem to have is to annoy the shit out of another player when the Karin user has a bad connection.

Hey quick question guys. My brother is going to use a new copy of Street Fighter V on our home console but the game belongs to his friend. Friend is coming over and we are playing.
How does the account work? Is it tied to the console?

Bump. Don't know how games our tied in the PS4, guessing I have to log in to PSN and launch the game with the account.

I'm pretty sure the stuff like LP, FM and EXP points is tied to your PSN account. I'm not sure what the actual save keeps though other than game progress.

Man I think Dhalsim is a terrible match against Karin. Plus it's fucking Art lol. Stood no chance.

Played him like 10 times in the beta and only got 2 games.

Oh I know. I just thought it was funny bc I just happened to stop by at that time randomly.

"wait, I know that name" as that teleport is hitting at the end of round one XD

I become so mindfucked practicing combo's. I can do it with easy for a little bit and then it's like I'm starting over learning it. ugh...

Any other Ryu's finding Mika a tough matchup, or matchups with Mika in general?

Always struggle against her moves. Decent AA along with damaging throws and EX moves.

After spending the first days tooling around in training mode and some easy level Survival, I finally made my first foray into online matches, and boy if it didn't make me feel like the worst player in everdom. Even going up against mostly other 0LP players the final results weren't pretty aside from a couple of small bright points. Despite seeing that's what he was doing, I wound up losing to a Ryu whose primary strategy consisted almost entirely of low sweep kicks.

Bleh. At least I literally can't perform any lower?

If anyone wants to play against a Rashid player, send and invite to Lord_Dubz. I can't play now, but I need more folks to fight when I jump on. Not gonna fuck with ranked until they patch in Rage Quit penalties.

Here's just a general thought on what Ranked Matchmaking should do

- Best of 3 if both Players are at Silver or Higher
- You get more Fight Money the higher your Rank (Through Top Bronze: 50, Through Top Silver: 100, Above that: 150)
- Rage Quitting should cost you 1000 FM
- If some Rage Quits you, you get 100 of their FM

I feel like I'm useless agains't Ryu players who are good at footsies and anti airs. Also, if you can parry Mika is completely fucked. And when you knock her down, go in hard, she has litterally zero options agains't wakeup pressure without super. If you lose the wakeup exchange, it's because you misstimed something on your end, not because the Mika did something

Thanks. Typically I get overzealous and lose it when they get below half health. Need to get better at tecking throws too.

this is driving me crazy. Only in online matches I guess I must be hitting the PS button and it makes the game minimize. sigh... wish I could turn off the PS button

looks like I must buy a fighting stick

I'm not sure what a defacto solution is for rage quitters , right now obviously there is nothing and with capcom having so much trouble simply getting the servers to run properly after a full week I would rather they focus on getting it working properly before dealing with RQ's.

But, that day will come soon I think , probably in time for the march update and when it gets here , well then maybe they can add a way to deal with lame players.

I propose maybe adding a title you can't remove that lame players wear like a dunce cap after too many disconnects. There needs to be a certain allowance for legitimate issues , maybe a 5% disconnect ratio ? and on top of that , if a disconnect occurs 2 times in a row , regardless of ratio , you get placed in "jail". A timeout that prompts the player "you are experiencing network issues and have been disconnected from SFV , please exit SFV , test your connection and sign in again, your user name has been placed on a timeout list for the next 360 seconds" or something. So basically if you are lame and rage quitting many times , you'd get bumped offline for 5 minutes. If your disconnect ratio exceeds 5% (and on that note, there would have to be a way to confirm that YOU pulled the cord and not the person on the other end) you'd be placed in a separate search server where you'd only be matched up against others above 5% and if it exceeds 25% you'd be banned from ranked matches for the remainder of the month. Capcom could also add a system where every 30 days , the league gets reset so that ban would basically block you from playing ranked until the next reset. If your internet is so awful that playing matches keeps you at that high a disconnect rate , well maybe it's time to upgrade ? That only leaves one last issue - the way I see it , the rage quiter will boot themselves from the server if they are about to lose and the honest player will still be connected, so the rage quiter will be staring at an error message. The honest player that's still in the match ? they would be left playing against an AFK player and could do as they please, ideally - win the match and get some points. Upon signing back in the lame player might be greeted with a message showing them the aftermath of the fight they disconnected from. I think it would only be fair that whatever the maximum number of LP you can lose from a loss is taken from your point total.
