Street Fighter V |OT2| Another Fight Isn't Coming Your Way!

Well I mean I have no problem with losing to someone legitimately, I just dont want to waste my time playing someone while the whole time thinking in my head if I win the guys just going to DC on me. What have they done to me.
I agree. I was just joking. Being able to play someone with a legit 22 wins would be a great learning opportunity actually.

"Either way it's wise to just leave that situation.

If not a quitter, 22 win streak means you have a good chance at giving him 23."

That's the exact same thing as being a rage quitter
I was only joking. Should have did the :P thing or something.

But, it's not the same because at least someone who avoids the match before it starts didn't waste your time or rob you of an actual win, unless it takes your win streak from you.

Getting late, need to go to bed. It's already difficult to react to charged roundhouse offline, and doing in that just wasn't happening. RIP me.

My Mika is poop atm. Maybe another day you'll help me practice.

Those Karin/FANG fights were crazy. They'd be dead even in some matches, then one of us would body the other in a different one.

I'm so amused/annoyed at the rampant rage quitting right now...

Maybe I should create a kick starter for a fight controller that simplifies rage quitting. Press macro button which just goes PS button > Start > Close Application

Man, Laura's CA must be glitched. Every time I use it to defeat an opponent, the server breaks and disconnects the other player

*Trophy unlock sound -- Made it to Silver Rank -- Congratulations on finding opponents that lost honorably. It will be an uphill struggle from now on.

The chart on the player profile screen that shows Discipline -- Power -- Respect ought to be replaced with Spam -- Lag -- Disconnect

Another disconnect is coming your way

Dear Cacpom,
Here are some suggestions on how to handle disconnects/rage quits:

1. If both players suddenly lose the connection to your server at nearly the same time (i.e. within a 5 second window), then your server got borked --award each player with 50 FM

2. If only one player got disconnected, then check for the following conditions:

2.1 If the disconnectee and the remaining player had the same health, and equal number of won rounds, then the disconnectee chickened out --deduct LP from disconnectee and award LP and FM to the chap that stayed on.

2.2 If the disconnectee had less health than the remaining player and/or the remaining player already won a previous round, then the disconnectee rage quit --deduct (LP x number of rage quits) from the disconnectee, and award LP and FM to the remaining player

Oh, and make this an update available in March

No need for all that. Hearthstone already has a way to handle this: if you quit you auto lose. Error in connection or not. (The next time the DCer logs in, savages come and take their points)

Don't play online unless you are in a stable environment. Obviously they can't implement this now. So it doesn't matter.

Yeah that's exactly the way SF4 handles it.

Honestly they probably already have this feature coded but they held back because they knew they were gonna have server problems at first.

"Oh my god, capcom please, nerf parry, shit is broken. You can't win agains't a Ryu that can parry well and consistently"

If they're committing to parry that often, throw them?

Ah too bad, I was hoping for a few rounds tonight. I enjoy fighting other (good) Karin users.

You said you play on steam right? Feel free to add me to message me on there to play sometime, my steams Xevren11. Figured that might be a better way since CFN id status are wonky.

Tomorrow night should work if you're game!

How do you suggest I get in melee range of a Ryu you shoryukens every jumpin, zones me with fireballs and parry->punishes my fireball bypass move that's normally safe?

Lol, I went into the game tonight intending to do nothing but ladder for a couple hours with my newbie Ryu. I ducked into training to warm up my chilly hands and ended up getting sucked into practicing for two hours instead.

And you know what? I still haven't narrowed down the list of characters I want to focus on. I like everybody. :D

I want to practice hit confirms (which I just learned were a thing yesterday).

In training mode if I set it to random block then I can go in and do my two normals into a special move. If the normals hit, shouldn't the special always hit? I am trying to figure out if I am messing up the combo or doing the wrong combo. I am playing Karin if that helps.

This happens to me all the time when I am playing online, I get hit with a normal and then a special and there's nothing I can do to escape (can't block, jump, jab). I am trying to practice these combos, specifically looking for some feedback to know if I am actually doing an inescapable combo (I clearly am not because the training dummy can block my special after the normals.

This is literally the first fighting game I have done anything other than hit normals, so please talk to me like I am 5 years old, I have no idea what I am doing. (I lost 50 games online before winning 10. I am really really bad).

Well a pretty successful day 1. I don't really like Karin's crush counters, and there have been some times where a ken would do a fierce shoryu and would go over me after I blocked it but my character won't autocorrect fast enough for me to punish...I also know one combo with her, qcf k + p xx dbl kick...that all I do if I want to be fancy. Most of the time im just doing footsies and getting used to her pokes. I also don't like her EX uppercut very much cuz it goes up nearly straight and either trades or sometimes does barely any damage. I suppose I should wait a bit more. Oh well I shall continue to practice fundamentals instead of comboes for now at the start.

Just because a move is cancellable into a special move doesn't mean the special move comes out fast enough to combo. What are you trying to do?

I am trying to find out which specials combo at all I guess. I am trying to figure out what moves to do after I land my poke.

Who are you using?

What I usually do:
- Neutral jumps when not in DP range. If they DP and miss, you'll hit the ground sooner, and will be able to crush counter them as they fall.
- Bait parries by varying the timing of your attacks, or fake out certain inputs to trick them into jumping in.
- By not getting into that situation in the first place by being in their face by blocking, sweeping and throwing more.

Basically footsie fundamentals

Survival is so easy with FANG. I can be aggressive as I want with the CPU's. Lol

Not Ranked
Rookie
Bronze, Super Bronze, Ultra Bronze
Silver, Super Silver, Ultra Silver
Gold, Super Gold, Ultra Gold
Platinum
???
Grandmaster
Warlord
Hero

Edit: Well there you go. I was missing a whole lot more. xP

If the normals hit, shouldn't the special always hit?

Not always. There are certain specials where if you use the hard punch or hard kick versions for example, they wont successfully connect after your normals due to their long startup and the fact that your opponent recovers before the move comes out. Assuming you are cancelling into it properly, try doing the special using a lighter strength version.

Got server disconnected on my last match of (easy) survival. Could be worse i guess :P

Hey Trickster, what's your CFN id? Looking for vids to improve my scrubby Mika.

"How do you suggest I get in melee range of a Ryu you shoryukens every jumpin, zones me with fireballs and parry->punishes my fireball bypass move that's normally safe?"

Neutral jump fireballs and walk forward, gradually gaining space instead of jumping forward.

Walk, walk, walk. It'll take time, but you'll get to a space where they'll be more hesitant to throw fireballs. OR, they'll get antsy and start getting aggressive.

cr. HP all day, you can immediately poke after with her light attacks and convert to some of her combos. You can also throw in her normal and command grabs when the opponent is scared to press a button.

Am I crazy, or can you not punish a fireball with a jump in if your read is good enough ?

The ranked system is starting to feel a lot more grindy than SF4's system. Like it feels like the amount that you play factors in a lot more than it did in SF4, and if you're OK enough, you'll keep gaining points. I kinda wonder if it'l be the same at higher ranks.

I mean I'm like top 50 atm in 5, meanwhile, I feel like I've struggled to maintain 4k PP in SF4 for years.

Anyone order their stick from Madcatz direct?

Wondering how long their ground shipping is and whether or not they ship the sticks from California?
