So at the moment one of my main problems is linking normals into combos. For example doing Ken's c.mp > b.mp > hp. Connecting b.mp to hp is easy but the first step; c.mp into b.hp is crazy hard. I land it maybe 1 out of 20 attempts. Same with Ryu's c.lp > lp > mp. I can do c.lp into lp with a little practice, but following up with mp is almost impossible. Is there a trick to this? Are they suppose to be this hard?

I feel like it's either some kind of game or controller lag (playing on pc with wired ds4) or I'm just really bad at the timing.
Some chars can link lights into medium or medium into hard, but the general rule is they can't.

I don't know if it's a typo, but you can't cr. mp xx b. hp with Ken. You can cr. mp xx b. mp. The secret here is timing. You need to understand that you are linking normals, whereas in b. mp xx hp you're doing a target combo (which cancels the mp animation for the hp).
 
Should I stream my run? I admit, that I'm spamming the one move we talked about earlier in the thread, to get to stage 27. Especially now that this is my second attempt.
 
Fuuuuuuuuuck! Got to Stage 27 with Ken on Normal, and then Zangief wanted to slaughter me. :(

Spam HP DP. Regardless if you wiff. The A.I does not know how to punish DP wiffs. It just stands there. This works for 27-30. I was laughing and sad at the same time at the fact that it worked.

EDIT: Or DP in general it seems. Then just BnB once they are stunned.

Well when I start to think about the fact that 29 and 30 read your inputs. I start to feel a little less bad.

EDIT: It really is lame though. It would be much more rewarding if playing smart was the right way to go with these. Instead of treating the A.I and human opponents completely differently.
 
This is a fun game, I like it. Looks beautiful as well. First streetfighter game I have bought since the Streetfighter 2 turbo for SNES.. Not sure what the complaining is about as it is only going to get better.

The AI just doesn't play like a human. What else can you do?

Either the damn thing is too easy to beat or it feels like it's reading your inputs... The options VS the AI are limited IMHO...

Also, I'm sorry anything to get through these damn survival modes faster. Goddamn are they a chore. For some colors... One of the many worst decisions this game has given us...
 
Just reached Super Bronze last night and will probably stay there for a while! lol

I swear, the sweat from my hands playing ranked can fix California's drought problems. That's why I mostly do casual play..
 
Real talk, I'm starting to get worried about my feelings for Karin. It's much stronger than typical waifu talk. I think it's love.

Ah yeah that was typo!
That explains why b. mp xx hp is so much easier. I guess it's most likely a timing problem then. I will try to practice this some more but I feel like it's really really strict on how you have to time it :7. Thanks for the information!

I've been in and out of Super Bronze several times now...
You lose a LOT more points for every loss now... I was around 1200 LP and got shoved right back to bronze on a short losing streak before working back up again... You need to be winning consistently to stay there from what I've
experienced...

Well.. I know the game is sparse on content (the 800 threads daily on GAF alone have been proof of that) but I do love me some street fighter.. I guess you could say I got bit by the fighting game bug. I just picked the game up on PC feel free to add me on steam I am Tim0850.

I also just this morning put in an order on amazon for a Madcatz SFIV TE stick for about 88 bucks after shipping, I am hoping that this stick will be ok.. I have never owned a good stick before and I've just been using a Saturn Virtua Stick with a mayflash adapter. Anyone know if this thing will serve me well? Any impressions? I was not looking to spend more than 100$.
 
Probably old news,but I came across the Mike Z post about how the netcode is implimented improperly. Explains why some people will experience rollback on their end, but their opponent is fine.

Really disheartening to hear, why can't Japanese developers just license GGPO instead of reinventing a shittier wheel? Best part is it'll probably never be fixed :(.

Wow, for a game focused so much on online play that is really embarassing.
 
Haven't tried Survival Hard yet. Was going to wait a few days since I have limited game time during the weekdays. Does the A.I still capable of being cheesed out with DPs? Or do I need to learn the way of the A.I opponent and play dumb.

Edit: Even more dumb.
 
In a game that can be a counter hit slap fest up close she can get a lot off of a bad button press. That's fine though. I actually like that there are matchups where you can't really contest characters at *their* ranges and have to V reversal or block (or eat a throw or a cc or ch combo). It makes the game a lot more interesting. As far as bison goes I wasn't asking for buffs, I was pointing out that he has deficiencies. People just seem to lack objectivity when it comes to some stuff. Things will change once people get more used to what is and isnt safe, where the gaps in strings are etc.
yea I really need to face a good bison myself. I'm having trouble with him if I'm a bit too predicable with my Rushdown pressure. Also when he gets Vtrigger and can teleport into ex stomp it's kinda hard to block, or maybe my nerves get the best of me I dunno.

I've embraced the ojou laugh a long time ago, but now it's something more. I don't even think about the game that much, just Karin. She never leaves my mind, I think of unspeakable things, things I never thought I'd want to do with anyone.

She must smell so nice, and her scent must be so strong after all the fighting. Thinking about her sweat is driving me nuts.

They definitely should have just given this to Sony to fully publish. Need some tech wizards like ND, GG, or Sucker Punch to help out.

I'm optimistic this will be a blip by June though. Driveclub turned it around starting from a much worse launch.

Reminds me of the arcades and the 1990's...
Throwing was totally in the game mechanics of Street Fighter II... But you had to be prepared to be called a "dirty cheat" for throwing because "Well I can't block that!"...

And then you had to worry about getting into an actual Street Fight with dudes larger than you...

My advice?
Let the Wookie win...
 
I lost and level 27 last night and I don't really ever want to play it again. It's such a waste of time.

I can imagine how infuriating losing at that point must feel. Would have preferred if the difficulties just made the AI harder and all of them had only 10 Stages instead of just adding more stages.

I actually try to hold back a little if I see my opponent has no idea what they're doing, to give them some space to figure things out. But always landing big punishes if they do something stupid like random DPs, gotta teach them it's a bad strategy.

Even then, some people still ragequit. I guess they'd only be happy if I let them win.

Not at all. All the tech they do wouldn't translate to a fighting game, even netcode wise. As noted, just putting GGPO in would have helped but none of those devs have experience in it either. It's unlikely any of Sony's dev team would have done anything better.

Any advice and tips would be great, Im really trying to see if i can make it past ultra bronze today. I had some bad luck with some uncommon characters that dropped me all the way down to bronze again.
 
How do I stop Nash's Moonsault slash? What can Mika do to capitalize on it?

If this is the jaguar kick, try to get used to react to it. It's very easy to beat it if you can get past the mental barrier of pressing a button against such a strong looking move. It's so safe on block because it's very weak before it connects.
