Haven't heard a thing about input lag in RAP4 Kai. That's mostly the VLX.
i think he's talking about this site where some of the hori sticks are labeled as "F-tier" lol
http://www.teyah.net/sticklag/results.html
Yeah, and the VLX is one of them. But the others aren't.

I see
F Tier: Hori RAP4 Premium VLX Kuro (+14.80 ms), Hori RAP4 PCB: includes HRAP4 Kai, HRAP V, HRAP V Silent, HRAP Doa5LR (+15.10 ms)
To be honest don't let those tests dictate your purchase decisions.

tbh i'm such a scrub player i probably wouldn't notice. i think a lot of people on srk have disputed the testing methods though
How did you go about adding the art? Is there plexiglass and how is it attached?Finished my F300 mod:

So I bought an HRAP 4 Kai, but it turned out to be the older model without the Hayabusa buttons. Is it worth returning/replacing the kuro buttons for hayabusa?

According to the new tests performed by the creator of that site the TE2+ is the best stick which is around 1.3 ms of lag putting it in the A+ category but like I said before take these results with a grain of salt.
Thinking about switching my TE2+ guts to hayabusa if hori starts selling the buttons separately.
Are these tests backed up by anyone else? Is there a testing method others can do? Most monitors are 1 frame lag, most TVs are like 3. So another frame and it's like 4 frames on most setups. Seems like a big deal if those tests really are accurate. I mean, if accurate, basing a purchase is pretty high priority. Sticks and buttons are a pretty easy swap usually.

Yes.

I think you're thinking of the Kuro buttons. The Hayabusa buttons are new and barely out in the wild, mostly on the just-revised RAP 4 Kai just being phased in, Japanese arcades, and the new RAP in Japan, I believe.
I didn't like the Kuros, and quite like the Hayabusa buttons.
Oh, right. I was thinking of the Kuros. Since you've used them, how are the Hayabusa buttons an improvement? The main problem with the Kuros seemed to have been a relatively common "squeak" to them when depressed.

So other than Frys, does anyone carry sticks? I hate waiting for mail.

HRAP 2 SA baby!
That's mine. It comes full Sanwa, but I modded Seimitu parts modded in.
Another nice PS1/2 stick is the Konami Hyperstick, which has Seimitsu parts outta the box.
Those are a bit hard to find without really breaking the bank.
What are the thoughts on SF 15th anniversary sticks that work on ps2 and Xbox? I know they have a circular gate, but I'm willing to try it. Especially because I need an Xbox stick

Welcome to the future, how a e s t h e t i c are you? Need a drink?

thanks cindi for this
Already slapped some sanwa buttons in. Thing makes my TE2 feel so damn cheap in comparison. Next up is putting a PS4 PCB in, but that will have to wait until next weekend

Shows what happens when you hit the exact same button at the exact same time for the Hori RAP and TE2.
In theory, if they were equal input lag, fighting game characters' attacks would "trade" hits. If one comes out faster than another, the faster character would score a counter hit as the other character is getting hit on startup.
The TE2 scores a counter hit a few more times where the Kai never scores a counter hit.
Although there aren't any other sticks tested visually like this, it corroborates the results showing the TE2 slightly faster than the Kai. Honestly 5ms of lag is 1/3 of a frame in a 60fps game, so it's not going to bother most people.
Where you located?
The 4 Kai came out first with Hayabusa stick and regular Kuro buttons
The 4 Kai Silent came out later with the silent versions of the Hayabusa sitck and Kuro buttons.
The original 4 Kai just got updated to have the new Hayabusa buttons, but kept the same model name as the original. They're simply just replenishing stock with the updated version as it runs out.
Hi sixteenCompletely different feel but they're OK. Might want to upgrade parts though. The buttons are especially bad.

Yes.
So is the one with Hayabusa buttons better than the one with Kuro silent buttons?
Okay, these buttons are way better than Kuro now that I'm in training mode. Bah gawd.
I just did about twenty fbs per side and didn't miss a single one. I just did dps on both sides and when I tried out the Fighting Edge I had trouble doing them.
This stick feels GOOD.
Really liking my purchase. Now to learn stick.
Buttons, yes. The stick is a matter of preference since the 4 Kai one is not silent.
The Kai has a PC switch too, so it's more flexible. Not worth paying more with worse buttons, imo.
The only negative on the revised 4 Kai is the issue I was seeing with mapping multiple buttons I mentioned earlier.
Don't all the RAP4''s come with the same Hayabusa stick though?
I believe so, expect the silent model has their silent hayabusa stick variation.
The stick click is not that loud to me really either on Sanwa or the Hayabusa stick.
Oh I see. So the one with the Hayabusa buttons don't have a silent stick. =/
How good is that Hori RAP4? I am looking to make it my first Fight Stick I already have their fight pad version and I like it.
That's the kinda stick I'd use exclusively to play CDi TetrisJesus Christ it's vapor wave in physical form

Great video but that's not the Kai. That's the VLX, which is slower than the Kai.
