This is under the assumption that all PC players are just going to immediately jump on the Windows 10 platform. Quantum Break alone is not enough, but, yes, it's a start.

The case is that Microsoft never meant for the generic public to know about the event. It was always labeled as a media event. MS didn't really need to do anything. At least they clarified when getting the info.
It's begun! By the way, since Phil Spencer got in charge Microsoft have been hearing fans fixing what was "wrong", so if They're really going to push Windows 10 Store for gaming even beyond just Quantum Break, i'm sure things like full screen, vsync off and Sli support will be added without many problems. Who knows, perhaps Phil was already announcing those features in that picture

I thought this event would have given us a few surprises today. Guess we will see Tuesday. Thought maybe they were waiting for this to give us something interesting for the March preview update.

Anyway, my money is still on Halo 5 and Forza PC announcements.
No they won't because everyone already decided they won't. And everyone already decided that Microsoft's new attempt at PC gaming is GFWL2.0 and also that they don't really give a shit about the PC market.
If it is really just hands on for spring titles, press needs time to type the articles. I hope for surprise announcements but I don't think anything huge is happening right now there.
Eh it's not really that far. Basically 2 work days( Friday and Monday). Most places will have edited their videos and stuff by Monday I'm guessing

I'd argue that he's not writing off concerns or concerned people, he's writing off the guys who speak about these things with perfect certainty. The time machine types, who peered into the future and speak with great authority that none of that's ever getting fixed and MS is definitely going to screw everybody over.

Give those poor press guys the time to write their articles(hopefully there will be lot to write of), edit their videos, enjoy some free doritos and perhaps rest a bit during the week-end
I'm hoping it will be focussed on actual direction they are going with Windows10/Xbox integration, and not just a play session for new games. Have an actual briefing wouldn't really be required in that case. Suppose it isn't wise to hype the event up to something it isn't, announcements for new titles.

Your example along with those that say "everything will be alright" are different sides of the same coin. Only one of those opinions derives from historical precedent.
There's legitimate concerns and then there's illegitimate and irrational ones.

That's exactly what that is. You get these types of things when people don't follow MS.
I don't see them allowing GBA emulators on the Xbox One store for some reason.
