What's the point of dry shampoo?

washing your hair with normal shampoo everyday increases the oil production so if you're someone like me with above average amounts of oil in your hair, you look drenched by 4 pm. Dry shampoo gets rid of the oil without increasing the oil production.

Also its just great on the go since you can carry a can with you and it does a minor holding effect which adds some nice volume

I could probably shampoo even less frequently than I already limited it to (every other day). it just looks even better freshly washed so i want to do that every time i go out

Oh interesting. Do you wash it out with water then, or does it just stay in your hair?

Rare for GAF or rare for normal people? :P

I only shampoo my hair once or twice a week.

You're not the first person I've heard that does this. Does it keep your hair less dry?

I'm not sure. I shampoo maybe once a month. My hair turns into a very fuzzy dry poof when I shampoo it.

I've probably gone 3 months without shampooing it before. The only reason I do it is when I notice it's getting greasy or if I'm going to get a haircut.

well normally i wash it out with normal shampoo since I alternate days but sometimes I do two straight days with dry shampoo and it can come out even better but its hit or miss

gotta say I really don't relate to people whose hair gets dry from shampooing :P

Makes sense. Shampoo's a tad brutal. I usually only shower every other day, but I shampoo+conditioner each time. It doesn't seem to affect my hair much. I have thin, whispy hair though. Usually just throw some product in if I'm going out.

Cheers to that

That boxed wine though.

I picked up the Metro Redux bundle for $7.50. This is my first time playing it. Ranger Hardcore mode right away.

Most peoples' body does a fine job regulating hair oil levels on its own, unless you eat a high fatty diet or wash it too frequently. There are other things that can mess with the regulation but those are the two big ones. Hair washing for me is mostly about getting dirt out and making sure I don't get dandruff.

Plus, personally, I prefer the dye in my hair to last longer.

conditioner makes my hair amazing for a few hours and then the greasiness hits twice as hard.

all this just makes me love beanies.

Girls wearing those loose beanies make my knees weak. Also pom pom beanies. Also beanies with snowboard gear on.

Ahem...

ew. haha. it's ice tea.

woah I still haven't beaten the first Metro on Ranger Hardcore. awesome option tho!

Oh it looks exactly like these little black boxed wine things I see at the liquor store.
And I expect to die...a lot.

they're the best. I hope they never go out of style

but they will and I'll be wearing one at age 73, looking like a product of the olden days. though actually by that point they might cycle back in tbf

I only use conditioner after I've straightened or bleached my hair. It helps cure the hair a little faster than normally would so that damage doesn't accrue as quickly, but it shouldn't really be a casual additive.

Shampoo companies are a conspiracy. Tell people their hair is dirty so they'll buy more shampoo. Tell people their hair is damaged so they'll buy more conditioner. Tell people X so they'll buy more Y. It's kind of insane.

I agree with this.

Random question:

Does anyone remember that Mecha PC RTS game from the 90's called "Metal Fatigue"?

I remember playing an RTS called "War Zone 2100" or something similar about 4 or 5 years ago and it was kinda grim dark post apocalyptic game where you could design Machine Gun Tank and Flamethrower tanks with wheels or tracks. It was made by Pumpkin Studios waaaay back in the 90's. There's an open source version of it floating around the internet last time I checked. A small group of fans are trying to make an HD version of it.

I'm wondering if anyone knows what I'm talking about.

Edit: I remember there's was two demos for the game back in the day. One of the demos was called "Urban" (lol) and it was probably the hardest RTS demo I had ever half ass beaten.
You were in the middle of this map and there was this awful fog of war and you had to defend the base while simultaneously trying destroy like three or four heavily defended enemy bases (I can't remember real well.) It sticks out (fuzzily) Just because of how fucking hard that demo mission was.

There was a robot spider RTS game releases around the same time that may have gotten a little bit better score then the game I was talking about from PC Gamer

the thing that contributes more imo is that they advertise it as something to slip into your daily routine.

brush your teeth daily
floss daily
wash your face daily
take a shower daily

so while you're doing that you may as well shampoo daily

I need to wash my face more cause I have problems with dryness there

one parts too wet another is too dry. go figure

A lot of people increase the very problems they're trying to combat by washing with whatever product and doing it too much

my steam is twotimingpete (anyone here is welcome to add if you want, but you risk random messages if I'm bored) but I don't own sf5, and the reason I don't own it is because I gave up on fighting games on account of little shits always being too good at them

Thats literally what this conversation started about (but for hair) :P

I actually don't wash my face enough. I tend to be in a hurry in the morning for reasons so I skip that more often than I should

Speaking of face washes, both my parents do this routine every night where they fill a bowl with hot water and then squirt a tablespoon of iodine and scoop a tablespoon of salt into it, and then they dip their face into it and breathe in and out a few times. As silly as it sounds, it totally cleans their system out, and neither of them have been sick for over 16 years.

They used to try to convince me to join them and dip my face too, but it's just too weird. I think I prefer being sick, thank you.

it honestly doesn't sound all that crazy
