Street Fighter V |OT2| Another Fight Isn't Coming Your Way!

I feel like I'm not using my normals enough. It's so easy just to fall into special moves because I know them and I have to like tell myself that I don't need to use them ALL THE TIME, and they have their place.

I promise you most of these aren't rage quitters. I would never rage quit in my life and in just 2 hours or play it disconnected me at the conclusion of a match 3 times when I was losing.

I also lost a bunch of point by the opponent disconnecting at the end as well. But I know they are probably not rage quitters because I played the same Zangief 4 times, beat him all 4 times and he disconnected once.

The servers are just not reliable right now.

You can tell when someone rage quits and when there is a server issues.

Is this happening for anybody else? I keep getting matched up with people, but before the fight starts (after the VS screen and the screen turns white) I'm getting a 40002 error. This hasn't happened to me before, but it's happened in 4 of my last 6 matchups :S

It's getting really annoying, I barely ever have time to play games.

I'd rather show players that we aren't okay with this shit. Like, new dudes can come in and play the game and not see a community that's okay with abusing the system at the cost of their hard earned points and victories.

You example/instance was much less harmful, in that your matches were extremely laggy and unplayable. Maybe you should have rode it out, but your intent wasn't nearly as malicious as his. Or as constant.

Tier list mean nothing right now. Ranks mean nothing right now. And you act as if Ryu is straight up brokenlowtierdonotplay.

which characters have worse move priority than ryu?

Yep. I get the error before I even connect, after, after the character screen, DURING the character screen, and after the match. That's why I said fuck it and decided to switch to BL.

I have a really limited amount of time to play games, and having all of it wasted by failing at level 26 of survival mode irks the fuck out of me. I don't want to play this stupid shit. I just want to use more colors.

For me, this is a way bigger issue than the lack of content. Survival mode is horrible, and locking something as basic as costume colors behind it is an absurdly stupid decision.

Got the ok from duckroll so I'll try and scan some of the book. I'm just going to scan and then resize them a little but other than that they'll be raw:

Nash is taller than Bison?

Okay, guys. Real talk time. I just had a GREAT match against a Rashid that was highly ranked and was on a nine win streak. I'm not familiar with the matchup, but I gave it my best.

He bopped me first round, and the fight grew closer and more tense as the match progressed. It was one of those matches where you're impressed both with how well you and your opponent are doing.

Finally, he botched an eagle splike, and I punished him for the win!

...

And then he quit on me. I was SO disappointed. Not because of points, not because I've never been quit on before, but because I was having such a good time and I thought the other player was too. I was disappointed in myself for not seeing it coming, and that's the saddest part of all: that we're dealing with an online ecosystem where we HAVE to train ourselves to see the quits coming.

So, I propose we do something about this. I propose we make a thread specifically for posting recorded evidence of rage quitters. Not only can it be a place for entertainment and shared catharsis, but also a hub for the names of the individuals to watch out for in the wild west of ranked mode.

We could have an OP that's updated with a growing list of repeat offenders. I've never made a thread, and I just wanted to know what you all think. I guess I just needed to get that off of my chest. In the meantime, I'll start editing the video of the match that spurned this so I can post it, whether it be here or in a new thread.

What do you mean by "move priority"? Because that really doesn't mean anything in such general terms. Normals? Specials? On wakeup? In the neutral? Are you talking about startup? Are you talking about i-frames? Are you talking about frame traps?

Depending on what you're talking about, Ryu is actually quite strong.

I think the real revelation here is that there's a "Sawada" listed next to Guile.

Street Fighter: The Movie is canon?

I suck when I get pressured as Rashid. How to deal with content cross ups and tick throws?

Every time I move in to put pressure on a move I know is negative, they always frame trap with EX DP.

lol

all of them as a whole. ryu can even be knocked out of a get up shoryuken which is quite silly tbh

We all know who's gonna be the first one to be listed

There is no such thing as "Move priority".

Every move in the game has a hitbox/hurtbox and startup/recovery. If a move is beating you out that either means it is hitting you when your move was recovering and that you missed. OR that he just pressed his button first and hit you during your moves startup.
Moves like Shoryuken dont have a hurtbox during the startup hence they become "invincible". Since it can hit you but you cant attack anything.

As for Ryu , he is very solid. You just need to learn what moves to be used at what ranges.

He can't. Use the MP version. He's one of the few characters that has a meterless wakeup reversal option.

doesnt matter which you use, he can even be knocked out of the ex version

go mess around with a friend and test ryu's s/m/w p and k v others starting at the same time and youll see what i mean

That's factually incorrect. Unless someone decided to use their own shoryuken or general invincible reversal option against you as you were waking up.

Unless you're getting hit by a super or an ex DP from your opponent, that isn't true.

If EX is above ground, it is not safe.

Claw can grab you out of it easily.

ive been thrown, leg sweeped, jabbed out of it, not to mention individual characters unique moves

"shoryu" *thrown*

A shiet looks like i missed a blowup earlier today in this thread

you must have a wide definition of blowup

Guys ease up...I'm sure it's already embarrassing enough being called out. I'm a pretty good intermediate player, in fact right now at launch, I'm probably better than most guys in 2000lp and down, been playing SF for a while, but even I wanted to get that trophy right away, and before I hit 4K I got a super sluggish ridiculous match teleporting and just quit out of it, cuz I didn't feel like playing anymore and maybe losing points in that match when I was about to rank up? Would he have beat me? Probably not, could I just get to 4K anyway afterwards even with a loss? Probably. Am I a loser for that? Should I be banned from tournaments? Did I break the code of conduct because I don't want to sit through a lag match? Lol...come on ppl

Sometimes the artificial trophy addiction gets to you. Why do we want to 'get Gud'? Are we striving to go to Evo and win $10,000 for our struggling family? Perhaps some, but likely it's just for bragging rights. We want our skill acknowledged in some shape or form, how is that anyway more valued than wanting to get a platinum trophy?

It will be fixed soon. But maybe that's all some people have. A 100 win streak to 'pretend' they are Diago for a few weeks. Just don't forget this is a video game. Be kind to one another.

So it's ok to take away someone else's bragging rights by rage quitting so you can have your own?

And btw leaving during a laggy match is just fine in my book as long as it isn't during the end.
