I finally did this in a ranked match the other day and almost jumped out of my damn chair.

There should be a "lets go Justin!" Trophy if you parry chun Li's super art.

Also, once you time the first kick of the super, do you just mash the button to parry the rest?

So I've been playing with laura and I'm pretty upset about how few combos she has, and I'm terrible at knowing when to throw, help.

I don't know if this only happens to me or not but I thought I'd post about it. For some reason, whenever I beat people, a good chunk of the time -and not every time but let's say roughly half of the time- I get matched to them again. They get their runback, great for them. But, whenever I lose to someone, I almost never, NEVER, get rematched to them. I just want a runback so I can figure out the strategy here.

I'd love Casual match to have the option of best 2 out of 3 or have a Rematch option.

I played 6-7 matches today, and two of them were Rashid matches against two separate people. Quite an odd occurrence.

I ran into an "ok" Gold rank player in casuals. He didn't drop, but based on his skill I'd bet he was a dropper until he got the achievement and then left ranked forever.

So my girlfriend just made me realize I've spent roughly 310 us dollars on sf5. 60 on the digital version to play at midnight on launch, 100 on the collectors edition for the ryu statue and 150 on the rap 4 arcade stick. What have I done?! What's the most you've guys have spent on a single game?

That's fine, I think I've spent around 500€ on marvel heroes alone...

Keep in mind that you just need to activate the four cardinal directions twice (up, down, left, right), but not necessarily by themselves, such that left-up will count for both up and left. So you don't need to do a full 720 in order to do his ultra (or a full 360 to SPD, for the matter) .

Your best bet is probably to go to training mode, enable input display, and then give it a try. That should show you where you are going wrong. A tip to get started would also be to neutral jump, do the motion while air-borne, and then hit a button when you land.

Hmm that's really interesting thanks for the tips. I'll hit training mode and try it later. I can do his SPD and air grab fine it was just the 720 throwing me off so it's nice to know there isn't one set way to input it.

Trying to learn Chun-Li as well and she is super fun. Damn I think I'm going to go through the whole cast and Alex before I find someone I'm comfortable maining.

Yeah the trick with 720s is that the two circles don't have to be in the same direction. If you do this:

Up, left, down, right, down, left, up + P

It will work. With this, you only need to disguise your jump input once in the beginning AND it allows you to walk forward a tiny bit before activation, which is good for tick grabs.

Went up to 3750 LP, dropped down to 2900 LP, clawed back up to 3500 LP.

I'm either on a hot streak or a cold streak online, never anywhere in between.

If a command grab happens on the same frame as a normal grab, which one takes priority?

In some games this is actually random.

I wonder if anyone's tested it for SF5 yet.

Really starting to get into playing Necalli.

His crush counter buttons are just so damn good. Damage is through the roof. Combos are easy. Command grab. Super Saiyan mode? Laaaawd. Walk speed of a jack rabbit and even more damage.

I'm unsure wtf his dive kick is really for though.

Also, to anyone who plays him, does he have a combo that starts off light normals?

Heh, I sometimes get matched up to the same person 6 times in a row, losing each and every time. This tends to happen relatively consistently

what does he mean by odd and even frames

When two throws clash on the same frame and at least one of them cannot be teched (i.e. at least one of them is a command throw or an air throw), the winner of the trade is decided by the exact time that the throws clash:

- If you're on an odd-numbered frame of the round, then P1 wins.
- If you're on an even-numbered frame of the round, then P2 wins.

According to those videos, command throws do not have priority over normal throws or vice versa. The winner of the trade is decided solely by the exact moment they happen to be performed on.

Hm

I would have preferred one going over another.

Isn't it just a normal throw with different damage at that point? Is there anything else that makes command throws special?

edit: I guess you can't tech them, but you can still throw them lol

Dont you just love the sessions where nothing goes your way.. Gonna get a losing streak down to 0lp lol

Does the Ruy/Ken army get less after 1k lp? Low bracket is terrible

Further range, more damage, can't tech them, different positioning afterwards, possibly different meter gain

No, there's the slightest a delay you have to get down. I've practiced it in training for fun. It's harder than I thought it would be.
