Ok my in my last 100 games, 36 Ruy, 25 Ken.0 Birdie or Fang.

And there is ppl complaining that 16 characters is low? Might as well lower it to 5 QQ

Does Bison really have a further throw range than most of the roster or is that just something in people's head because of the animation?

Just did normal survival with Laura. God she's a lot of fun. Didn't expect to enjoy her moveset so much but here I am considering playing her as a secondary character. GJ Capcom.

Okay, guys. I was going to wait until I had an answer for every character. However, I have ways to cheese most of the characters in Hard survival. Unfortunately, I have never gotten past 41 Ryu, as he is a character I can't find a real answer for... Still, hopefully this info will help some other people get further and hopefully we can figure out some ways to beat some of the characters I don't have answers for. I made most of my attempts with R. Mika. However, I tried with a few other characters and this stuff seems to work with other characters.

If you jump back into the corner and just keep hammering a heavy attack some characters will walk into it, allowing for a free combo. After you finish the combo get back into the corner, rinse and repeat. A number of characters fall for this method. including...

Karin
She is the BEST character to gain health against. She will absolutely walk under you and allow you to land the neutral heavy attack. Rinse and repeat.

Dhalsim
Neutral jump fierce in the corner works well, but in a wonky way. He will sit back, spitting fire, for a lot of the round (just hop over it). Eventually he will teleport under you. This is when you bop him. He may tag you occasionally, but I wouldn’t be too concerned. I haven’t had him take more than a quarter of my health.

Necalli
Also an easy win, but will use his DP if you let him get right under you. Still, you should win without taking much damage.

Chun-Li
Not as effective as you would hope. She can mess you up, but it works fairly well most of the time. She will likely tag you with a few anti-airs. If you have less than half health going into this one it could go either way.

Laura
Similar to Necalli in that she is weak to the neutral jump heavy approach, but she will occasionally tag you with her DP grab (she can't follow it up for real damage, so don't sweat it). Stick to the plan, you should be able to walk away with the win.

Birdie
He has every tool in the world to deal with the strategy… but he won’t use them. Jump back fierce destroys him.

*Don't try this with anyone else not listed here; they will blow you up.*

Fang can be destroyed by just jumping at him aggressively. If he doesn't get a chance to breath he doesn't fight back. This can also work with Zangief, but occasionally he decides to anti-air and he will take half of your health with a crush-counter.

Another way to deal with Cammy and Zangief easily is to wait for them to walk forward and trip them. They eat the trip WAY more than not. This works a little on Vega, but it isn't nearly as consistent.

This next one is R. Mika specific... A way to take down R. Mika and Ken with R. Mika is to just space her HP Shooting Peach; they will continually walk into it.

As for Bison, Ryu, and Nash... I have no idea. Cross Ups work reasonably well on these characters to a certain extent. However, they all hit for crazy damage. I just can't seem to fight them without screwing up at some point and losing all the progress.

I hope this information is able to help someone. I hate this stupid mode.

The strategy for 90% of the higher ranks in survival mode is just do constant cross ups. Every time you get a knock down, go for a cross up. Make sure you time it well though. If it's well timed, they tend to always try to react with a anti air. But you should be behind them by then and it will whiff. Free punishes every time.

It's very effective against Bison, Ryu, and Ken.

I think it's pretty stupid that if you cross under Sim when he air TPs, his attack auto corrects.

Who thought that was OK.

I need to set up a machine to shock me every time I do a low sweep for no reason on a blocking opponent. So many bad habits I can't shake off.

so it turns out, if you purposely lag your connection while you play it makes it incredibly glitchy for your opponent but it stays smooth for you. ill now be quitting v players who lag.

How do you determine if they are lagging on purpose or not?
It's pretty obvious they just alt+tabbed when the first round was perfectly fine and in the second they're suddenly teleporting like mad. Tbh I wouldn't blame anyone for quitting on wi-fi warriors either but that's gonna get punished at some point (maybe 2017) so you'll have to get used to those eventually.

If Capcom won't fix their netcode lagswitching will become the next big issue, and it's gonna be a lot worse than the rq fiesta.

doesnt really matter if its on purpose. if you know your connection is acting up and you go and play anyway, you can get fucked. why should i just deal with playing at what might as well be 5 frames per second?

You'll probably get bopped by Capcom, but honestly I haven't seen many people try that tactic. Instead, it's just a bunch of people quitting at the last second.

Is it not enough that Cammy has one of the worst cross-ups in the entire game? Must she also have the worst throw distance?

Wait, what's that about alt-tabbing? What does it do? I've never alt-tabbed during a match or inbetween rounds, but I often do between matches when I'm waiting for the slow-ass server to find me an opponent. I hope that doesn't cause any issues.

Basically their netcode doesn't distribute rollbacks properly between both players but loads them all off onto only one of them. So if you force a delay, via alt+tabbing or other means, your opponent is gonna get proper rekt while everything stays silky smooth for you. Just alt+tabbing in menus or during loading screens shouldn't do anything though, only when the match has already begun.

Holy crap, I had a PC player yesterday that started to lag SO MUCH.

I wanted to quit, because this game was just ass, but I didn't. Next time I'll think twice though.

Quitting because connection is shitty is legit imo, lag doesn't put up a fair fight.

I'm pretty sure they removed Mika's corner cross-under. Can anyone confirm or deny? It's Passion Press, then f+MP in the corner. If you did cr. HP immediately, she would go under them, but if you delayed it she wouldn't. I could easily do it in the beta, now I can't at all. Help?

Had a Cammy do the same thing to me after I won round 1, it's ridiculous. Immediately left the game 10 seconds into round 2 when he started teleporting it up. I wonder if these people will send your "ragequits" to Capcom on purpose.

Rage quitting?

To be fair, if you join an apparently 5 bar connection game and it lags to shit and your playing ranked then you should just shut it down ASAP. Its no one's fault and its not a fair match up.

I have only done that once for that exact reason. I did it after about 5 seconds of play and just though "nope".

If I get that in casual I just let it go because what ever. I had one last night that was apparently 5 bar and the whol match was running at 2 fps. I couldnt do shit. I then watched the replay and I was just bouncing around randomly while they were patiently waiting for me to move to them and punishing. I get the feeling it was running normally for them and it did make me wonder if they had a way of doing this on purpose or not. But it was casual so what ever.

But pulling the plug in the first round on a laggy ranked match is fine. It's not rage quiting.

Or you can just go into your network request settings on and set the preferred connection and turn on battle confirmation to avoid the headache.

Both wi-fi warriors and lagswitchers will generally be displayed as 5 bars

I don't know if their system checks for nothing but ping or what but it's certainly incredibly far from elaborate

I got matched against the same person 6 of the last 7 matches, he just pulled the plug at the match up screen the last 2 times.

Any advice for Bison players vs Birdie. Birdie feels a lot more scary to me than Zangief as a grappler. Like Birdie is SFIV Zangief with one of the best AAs in fighting game history. I usually just try to get first hit and lame it out.

So I went on another 3 game win streak and was close to becoming a bronze player. I was pitted against a 3 game win streak birdy who was a bronze player too. I was nervous as hell.

Not only did I win but he didn't get a win off me. Not only is he now demoted to rookie but I am now Bronze!!!

Wooh so happy with my 4 game win streak

What improved my game a lot was playing survival on easy and then normal back to back. Then going to practice to work on some mix ups

Survival drains the soul out of a person when he/she losses, yet I keep coming back to this bullcrap. Made it to level 50, hard mode with full freaking health. I hyped myself so much I ended up losing within 20 secs. This nonsense to just unfair.

Congrats, who do you play as? I've been stuck in Ultra Bronze for about a week, but it's deserved. I can tell I'm getting nervous and pressing the issue against Silver opponents. I rely so much on cross ups and crush counters that I'm sort of lost when higher level players don't leave themselves open to that.

I got into the bronze league with my Laura >< So fucking funnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn

I just wish the loading didn't suck so bad.

Taking a break, playing a few rounds. Again matched with that pos player Bernardito or something like that. It sucks that he gets matched with me this frequently because he has way less LP but this was easily the 4th time he rage quit on me. Next time I'll pretend to let him win and rage quit myself.

Well, guys, it's decided. I'm going back to Ryu for the first time since my glory days with him on the SNES. Any specific things I should be learning first? I know MP is your friend. Aside from that, he is pretty basic, which is good, but I'd rather be an aggressive Ryu most of the time so any tips towards that end are appreciated. Right now, I still play him as late 90's Ryu! Also, do they have Hyper Fighting Ice Blue as an unlockable color??

This plus Alt-F4 ragequitting is the reason why I only play PS4 opponents anymore. At least they have to out in work to be scummy.

Man, Rashid's theme goes with everything

EDIT: About the alt tab issue, maybe I'm understanding it wrong, but doesn't the game already need a one-way lag/desync in order to be manipulated like this in the first place? Like, you can't alt tab a game that's perfect for both players and cause lag to the other.

Survival mode is hilariously unfair at the top. I literally had a match where the computer just stuffed every attack I did. I then sat still and the npc walked up to me. As soon as I pressed a button it countered into a kill combo...

This whole CPU responding perfectly to button presses needs to die lol.

I use ken Been my favorite since sf2
Love his Kicks in this game

It's pretty funny how the AI will sit there doing nothing if you just stand still. Waiting for any button presses to instantly react.

Ah, I see. Well, thankfully I haven't been doing that.

Yeah, honestly I wouldn't even be mad if someone D/Ced on me during a laggy match. It's just not worth it for either player. Plus whether you win or lose doesn't matter much; in both cases, you feel like you don't deserve it.
