DP spam?? I need these colors man.

I do a little bit of

Back away > H Arrow (namely against Gief, Ken, Birdie and Mika)

and

V-Skill > M Spike (everyone else except Bison, which I start with a Neutral Jump)

The first is one because Cammy's back up is faster than their walk forward, so they'll always try to hit it but fail.

fun fact...

Cammy's lip colour is listed in the files as "rip" colour, and Nadeshiko's wrist band is labelled "list band"

You have to go through each Difficulty (Easy/Normal/Hard) for EACH COSTUME. Not just each Character. You only get Fight Money once per Character per Difficulty, as well.

So I'm 99.999999% confident that it's designed to make rage enough to say 'fuck it, I'm spending Fight Money on that shit.'
Fk me sideways.

Okay I will wait till March update for the FM costumes.

Who are you using and what's giving you trouble?
Not-so-proud member of the online Karin brigade.

I've been spamming Ressenha WAY too much lately and I'm trying to tone it down because I can tell my opponents can see it coming from a mile away. Necalli's my worst matchup at the moment, every time I try and put pressure on him and his wakeups all nail me.

I'm just off my game, I can tell. I lost to a Bison with a sliver of health and I usually do really well against him.

I never fought a Karin in a set on my Fang yet. Want to play?

edit: In Texas btw. But I have had connections from New York that played fine.

Sure. This would be my first non-Ranked/Casual match, so should I create or do you? I'm old and these newfangled PS4s are baffling to me.

I'm down, what's your CFN ID?
I added you CountBlack, we’ll get in some sets soon.

GG's, if I made you work, I made you work for a beatdown then lol. Some notes that I was constantly thinking about

-You're not letting anyone dash in on you, you're constantly hitting buttons. I started fishing for counter hits because of this. A lot of bad confirms though just because I saw st. MP hit
-You were reading me correctly a lot, I ate so many jump ins. About a 1/3 of those were me screwing up my DP input or doing it too late. I was always trying to DP if I felt I could
-The constant whiffing of that kick move was throwing me off so much, I said to myself "hey it missed, my turn to hit a button". And almost every time it was too late.
-You're very very slippery. It was hard to land anything to even put you in block stun because you were constantly moving compared to my molasses Ryu that just tried to hold its ground.
-I knew you were DP'ing after move that were negative on block a lot. But I just couldn't react to them correctly. I think I punish st. HK only once correctly. Sweep is something I have a hard time punishing because it doesn't have that long hit stop like Ryu's.

I found myself at a lost against you a lot. Anytime I thought I was on to something, you changed it up and scrambled my mind again. Found it very frustrating, but also very challenging and fun.

yeah, I like to play pokey, I’m probably better off using a different character like Nash or something actually, but I can’t help it, I’m a ken fanboy lol. I like to rely on my Yomi because my execution isn’t the highest.

But that’s the beauty of the game, reacting and adjusting to your opponent is critical since it’s not a lot of “tricks” that will work more than once or twice. Sweeps spaced properly are not that easy to punish, heck even Ken’s c.mk FB string is significantly weaker in SFV than SFIV, but it’s about using it at the safest spaces.

Definitely a nice intense set though, you remind me of my friend on PS3 named SolidSnake, he mained Ryu as well and I bopped him early on, by mid-cycle he had caught up to me and we used to have 50 vs. 50 win sessions lol...

Man, I'm really having an off day. Love using Vega, but I almost kinda feel like I'm nowhere near intelligent enough to use him properly. I'm terrible at making reads and figuring out stuff in the heat of the moment, and that's not a good thing at all, since Vega has to work way harder for damage than characters like the Shotos or Bison.

Any other Vega players out there? I feel like I'm hitting a wall here.

Lol Arturo lost his rank 1 position, lost against a Silver Necalli. 285 points, hotdamn.

-Edit- Ultra Bronze Necalli, he ranked up to silver.

Just got this for PS4. Asking me to select region and I see all the flags. But the first one in the list is just a SFV logo.... There's also a USA flag (I'm in USA).... What do I pick? Is the SFV logo mean all regions? What do I do here?

It doesn't matter, pick what you want. The flags are superficial.

Thats hoe stupid and terrible the point system is, win get 1 point but lose lose 200+.
Yeah I like that the system is designed to be tough to get to Master rank and all that, but this does seem a bit overkill. You shouldn’t lose more than 150 for a loss, especially if you win a round.

Right now people seem like they are losing too many points for losses, leading to a ridiculous amount of people stuck in the Bronze League Ghetto. Only a handful are making it out into Silver+ when ideally you should probably have the majority of your players in Silver, maybe a quarter in Bronze, a quarter in Gold and a spattering of higher ranked hero players.

I have a 71% win percentage and I've gained a grand total of 150 points in the last 100+ games I've played because it takes 5+ wins to many up for any loss.

I had a marvelous break through tonight in a variety of ways.

A buddy of mine I have sparred with for years in fighters I almost beat in a first to 10 tonight. Generally ours sets are me barely eeking out 3 games at best. This goes in Xrd, SF4, and SF5.

Tonight though I played Vega after doing a lot of lab time. We first started with me messing around with Birdie against his R.Mika to just see how I fair as a Birdie player against a gold league player. It was so-so, but Mika is not his main.

I then said I had a limited time left to play and we backed out to main chickens. Picked Vega, he picked Cammy. (he also plays Nash. both are his mains and both play ridiculously strong)

We went down to the wire. 9 games each, final round, little health for either. I couldn't eek it out against his Cammy, but I FINALLY saw all the fruits of my labor pay off. I was claw on claw off on the fly, great combos, confirms, air to air, anti airs, mix ups, etc.

I wish I had recorded it for GAF to review. There's tons more to work on as far as capitalizing better to get bigger punishments and anti air with QCB HP and cr HP.

I may finally take him to ranked matches. I've only done a few. Rest has been Necalli and Bison.

Feels good man.

I just have no idea whats going on when I fight Laura...is that dash elbow into throw 1 move? Or are they throwing me after the elbow? Do i tech it or jump out?

GGs Mesosphere. Where do you live? It was pretty jittery but good games anyways.

yea I'm trying to hit 5k maybe on the weekend, or something. But rank is pretty much about playing at your best and being "in the zone". It's not a set, you play random characters and players ever time. So i don't play it until I warm up so to speak with casuals.

Rank is not just about your skill efficiency with your character either, but how well you play against the cast. That's why frauds are really frauds, they might excel with here offense, but have a bunch of holes in defense against certain cast members. I would say get good, and then have a least 3 sets with everyone in the cast, if you are doing well in the sets, you'll have a nice streak in ranked.

I can't beat stage 26 on Survival Normal as Karin. How did you guys manage to cheese Ryu?

Ryu is seriously the hardest one aside from Bison at 30. I lost to him on Karin too but I don't really know how to play her well so I don't have good advice.
