Man that looks awesome, I knew it was going to end up looking good. Feige hasn't been letting me down lately, looks like im going to enjoy it like Spy. Can't wait. Haters who didn't like this from the first "all women Ghostbusters' announcement are not going to change their mind no matter what so fuck em.

Um, can you even get your hate correct? Winston wasn't a scientist, he was just a hired on Ghostbuster halfway through the film. Venkman wasn't technically a scientist either.

Lol that's what it says in the trailer.

It would change my opinion 0%.

Pretty sick of the insinuation that anyone that doesn't like the trailer is sexist and hate it merely because of the gender of the actors.

Oh cmon you really don't think this movie is under a microscope because it's a reboot AND the fact it stars women? Everyone is entitled to their opinion but this could have had the best trailer ever and it still would have had detractors.

Looks great, I'd love to see the reaction to this movie if it was starring dudes.

Would have been just as negative but people wouldn't be doing the internet gender fight song and dance they do with everything these days.

Just look at every unnecessary movie remake recently. Robocop, Total Recall, etc.

Ill give them a sliver of credit for taking the risk with the female cast because at least its a talking point outside of "this just seems like a lazy cash grab from some studio that thinks the general public are gullible idiots who will see anything with a known brand" that surround every other remake.

Yeah for sure, but not so many detractors. Sony did a bad job with this trailer, for comparison Guardians of the Galaxy did a much better job at introducing the characters and keep people waiting to know more about them, Ghostbusters make them look like generic comedic stereotypes IMO

Everything has detractors, nobody is ever going to create something that is universally loved.

I'm absolutely positive there is a small group of people who are stupid enough to hate this just because of it stars women, just as there are also those who will LOVE this just because there are women in it.

It gets entirely old when you and others in this thread just can't help but *wonder* if maybe sexism is the reason most people dislike it.

Just for my own interest, I went back and found the original Ghostbusters trailer.

Yeah, it's also not funny. If I saw that trailer devoid of the context of a series I grew up in love with as a kid, I would probably think it was some shitty B-movie not worth my time.

So there's hope yet for folks that this left a bad taste in their mouth. Though I'm sure for some, no matter the quality of movie, they'll refuse to see it. For, y'know, reasons that have absolutely nothing to do with sexism. Nope, no sir. Definitely not.

From the beginning of this announcement I've held out some hope that a reboot is preferable to a sequel , the original cast tried a sequel once and it didn't quite work and they got a second chance with the videogame a few years back. As awesome as those guys are playing those characters , the time has past. A ghostbusters 3 should have made it out before 2000 if at all and well, Harold Ramis also died last year which to me , also killed any chance of a regular sequel or even a "ghostbusters the next generation" type deal.
For me it's not a matter of the cast at this point, it's a matter of the characters. It's not about Bill Murray and the gang, it's about Peter, Rey, Egon and Winston. These fictional characters are the Ghostbusters. I mean, just because Christopher Reeve died, it doesn't mean that the Clark Kent/Superman character died too. Someone else can step in and be that character.

That was the reason i never cared much about this reboot. Because it doesn't feature the same characters, not because it doesn't have the main cast, even though i would love it but i know it's impossible. They treat the ghost busting "profession" as the important thing here rather than the actual characters who were the ghostbusters, probably so they could shoehorn the all female cast. Because that was the whole point of that reboot, not Ghostbusters.

It's hard to compare a trailer from the mid 80's with trailers these days. That was pretty standard for the time.

It's not cringe worthy either. And doesn't look like slapstick comedy for kids.

Holy shit people what trailer did you watch

The negativity surrounding this film is nothing new, but there's no WAY I'll ever get used to this movie not getting anywhere near a fair shake

Both sides are pretty stupid in this situation.

But people shouldn't be defending a movie that isn't out just because of an all female cast.

Sorry, but it's a boring trailer.

Slapstick comedy for kids is exactly what this looks like.

Some things don't need to be rebooted and Ghostbusters might be one of those things.

A woman got vomited on, another one got slapped in the face twice and almost burnt her hand, and then another woman was standing in a wig display wearing a purple wig and a hat...

The vomiting is nothing new to this series, the wig thing made me laugh, the 2nd slap made me laugh... don't know what to tell you

I'm Not.

You're well within your right to find the trailer boring, but you might not be the target audience for this movie.

Pretty sure this is being aimed as a 'four quadrant film' by the studio, which means the target audience is literally everyone.

Possibly a reason why this trailer felt so...silly.

Looks ok. McCarthy trips all over her lines in it, though.

I do wonder too, why didn't they make a new Ghotbusters movie with the actual Ghostbusters characters? Just because the main cast is old and one of them died, doesn't mean new generation actors can't be Peter, Egon, Ray and Winston. Or at least a couple of these characters could return along with the new ones, if they wanted a lady Ghostbuster cast that much.

Two new actors being Peter and Ray or Winston and two ladies being two of the new characters. That would be the best of both worlds IMO.

Right. I agree with that. It should be a film with wide appeal. I feel like a lot of people are forgetting that there's an audience for the movie outside of their personal nostalgia.

I remember seeing similar different opinions when the first Jurassic World Trailer hit.

Does this mean Ghostbusters will be the surprise success of the summer?

Probably.

I kinda dug it, Fiegs a little hit and miss for me but i'm looking forward to this. I don't need a new classic, just a fun movie with a cast i really like. Looks like its going to nail that.

But you see why someone would think it's a slapstick made for kids?

I guess. There's comparable shit in so many gross-out R-rated comedies though. Just because it's slapstick and stupid doesn't mean it can't be worthy of the Ghostbusters name

There is no such thing as "the best trailer ever". There are too many people with too many different opinions to be so. There will always be people that dislike a movie/trailer that others find amazing.
