Excuse me, but I am female, a feminist, and I was looking forward to see how this movie turned out... and I think the trailer is completely terrible. I don't care about Batman whatsoever, though I don't know what this has to do with anything.
But yeah, not sure why you're saying this. People here on GAF who dislike the trailer have articulated why and I haven't seen much whining about feminists or PCness or whatnot (on the contrary some have even pointed out the racist stereotyping) so I don't know where this is coming from...
Just call me sexist if you really want to. Or show me proof that there's a giant "sexist campaign" that is significantly skewing the negative view of the trailer. Either way.
Sadly, you're probably right. It's akin to trying to convince the faithful that there isn't a God.
Denying that sexism is playing a role in the negative ratings is really naive.
Nobody is calling you a sexist for not liking the trailer, but for fuck's sake, please don't try to start fights by saying sexism doesn't exist.

Never said sexism didn't exist. Ever.
But it's a really, REALLY bad trailer.
Because the fact is that a lot of it is sexism. And arguing against that is, for some odd reason, a half-ass attempt to demonize the people that like the trailer. Because how dare someone like something you don't.
You know what I meant.
Yeah, and?
I never said it was or wasn't. I was merely commenting on how some people are getting way too hung up on the "nu uh not all people who downvoted it are sexist" response. Wait, let me get this straight.
this is the very definition of demonizing people and dismissing criticism.
I can't believe shit like this is OK on this board. Unbelievable.
It's acknowledging a very serious contingency of GB2016 critics.
In all fairness, what else do you expect Leslie Jones to say?
Are you busy sniffing your own farts between posts?Sadly, you're probably right. It's akin to trying to convince the faithful that there isn't a God.
The preview looks boring. It looks just about as boring as I'm sure the hundreds of scripts Bill Murray turned down over the past three decades looked. It has nothing to do with the cast and everything to do with the content. And you know what? There's nothing wrong with being dissapointed or upset with the obvious change they made to the cast of the new movie. Hey, it's ghost busters, but now THEY'RE GIRLS! Woooo, very exciting. It reeks of "we ran out of ideas after bill Murray turned the script down again". Maybe it'll be a fantastic movie, but I'm not impressed thus far.Denying that sexism is playing a role in the negative ratings is really naive.

Oh please. Get off your high horse.
It's painting all criticism with a broad brush and playing victim. It's basically Donald Trump tactics.
"Youtube is sending their sexists. Some, I assume, are good people."
The phrasing of the post inherently dictates that the poster was not claiming that all criticism was sexist.
That doesn't mean that it's not painting with a broad brush and creating a strawman to deflect legitimate criticism, all while playing the victim and labeling the critics as undesirables.
That's not how I understand it at all. She's saying she played the character as a regular person that feels real to her, or maybe even intersects with her own personality. That's what she means by regular person. Then, all of a sudden, you have a bunch of people calling that character a stereotype. That's gotta be confusing on a personal level. Like if you were walking down the street and someone said "look at the way you're holding your arms -- stop perpetuating stereotypes!"Leslie is ignoring WHY people have a problem with her portrayal. It has zero to do with her character "being a regular person".
Feels like she is being purposefully obtuse to the backlash.

It's about ethics in ghostbusting.

What kind of dumb logic is this? The trailer looked terrible because of the terrible content, it had nothing to do with the leads.Denying that sexism is playing a role in the negative ratings is really naive.

Well at least she has you to fight the fight for her.
Never seen her on SNL but I've seen her tell jokes. Her Stand-Up Special on Netflix is alright but I'm not sure if that's the kind of humor I'd like in a Ghostbusters Movie. This is her whole career on SNL. I really don't like her.

There was absolutely nothing in that trailer leading me to believe this will be even slightly enjoyable. Also, McCarthy is the worst...just the worst.
And nobody has claimed those tickets yet.You can even get tickets to the premiere of the reboot with a $5000 donation!

That can't be real.
Yeah I call bullshit.
Guy says he didn't even notice the Times Square reverting to the 70s.
No way that's something you can just miss.
This is good reminder to watch out for this stuff now.
He also seems to be unaware it's a reboot. He keeps being surprised they haven't referenced the old ones.
And wondering if there's connections to Gozer.
