Captain America: Civil War - Final Trailer

One thing that I think is bugging me about the spidey suit is the line work. I really don't like the thin two thing line thing going on. I'd rather have single thick lines.

Minor complaint but yeah :3

Because it's not focused on them. They're just supporting characters. The focus is on Cap, Bucky and Iron Man.

It's focus on a political issue. So every dude will make a speech when they want to take their side. And then you have new characters you have to introduce.

I wonder if they'll have Spider-man kill people like everyone else? Killing has been weird in these movies come to think of it.

Losing Garfield really sucked. A perfect match of actor and character.

Seriously, Garfield was damn perfect for the role and he got saddled with the raging dumpster fire that was ASM2 and will never get to shine.

High-res, non compressed image (sorry for stretching out the page, I think it is worth it, yeah?):

Suit looks so much better in higher resolution video/images. Can't wait for this movie.

It is jarring to see a character most associated with being a grown man sounding like a child. Tom Holland is like 19, isn't he?

Edit: People keep mentioning how it was ASM2 that killed the franchise, but the original was terrible too. Garfield was a good spidey, but a shitty Peter Parker. There a scene in ASM in which Peter Parker skateboards while bad alternative rock played. What the hell.

The Civil War comics made Tony out to be the world's biggest twat, but it looks like they're really trying to make it so both sides are as sympathetic as possible, like Tony's previous fuck ups haunting him and causing him to choose this path, and then Rhodey getting wounded/killed causes him to lose his shit.

Also Ant-Man/Hawkeye combination was baller as fuck.

finally home so I got to watch on my TV. so good.

wife update: she thinks spidey looks super fake and that he sounds like tobey maguire. she's wrong

Wait, this is total garbage:

There's no way the Chitauri invasion ONLY caused 18 billion in damages and only killed 74 people.

2 billion and 23 dead? No fucking way, a shit ton of people died.

Oh come on.

I didn't quite care for Spidey's costume at first, but looking at more pictures and gifs and getting more than a couple split seconds to actually examine it, I like it more and more. In fact, I think it's the best costume yet, mostly because of the expressive eyes. Thank god for Deadpool showing that expressive eyes can totally be done for superhero masks.

This shit is going to by hype as fuck.

Yeah, honestly I thought that was pretty stupid too. I'm willing to overlook that because Disney I guess.

Most Spiderman universes have him as being at least college age. If anything, a younger Spiderman is a more current product due to the Ultimate run.

Maybe Grown Man was a bad term, but he's certainly not associated with being a teenager.
Go read his early issues has nothing to do with ultimate he started in highschool

I'm gonna need to see more of dat Spidey in motion to really make a judgement.

Black Panther looks like a total boss.

Damn really unfortunate. Dude had hella talent as spidey. Would love to see him in a good spidey movie

Word is that Japanese Sony execs didn't like him too. Something about ditching last minute on a dinner invite.

Moreover, it appears that Garfield may be out as Spider-Man altogether. Garfield has been praised for his performance as Peter Parker, but his critical remarks that seemed to blame the studio for Amazing Spider-Man 2's tepid box office and critical reception may have annoyed the wrong people.

Garfield also stood up Sony at a corporate dinner in July. Garfield's attendance was going to be mentioned by Sony CEO Kaz Hirai and he was supposed to sit with some top Sony executives. His absence (with less than an hour of notice) was seen as an affront and slight by the company's Tokyo bosses.

Not really sourced, so take with a grain of salt.

Peter Parker was a high schooler in the original run.

I've always associated his character as having his origin story in high school.

Let me calculate the odds here.

Spider-Man. Crap.
Spider-Man 2. Crap.
Spider-Man 3. Crap.
Amazing Spider-Man. Crap.
Amazing Spider-Man 2. Crap.
The Incredible Hulk. Crap.
Thor. Crap.
Captain America. Crap.
Iron Man 2. Crap.
Thor 2. Mega Crap.

Just take this prepubescent Spider-Man, and put him in a day care somewhere.

Oh come on.
New York was especially brutal.
Perhaps the screen is cutting off the multiplier or something. Or the number climbs as the video goes on.

Some crazy people up in here. The suit looks great.

If I had to rank all the movie ones, it'd probably go:

1. ASM2
2. Civil War
3. ASM = Raimi Trilogy

ASM2 totally nails the comic book suit in a way the Raimi ones don't. Raimi's are really drug down for me because of the raised reflective webbing that almost always look like silver and the eye shapes that I'm not a fan of. I also think the ASM suit is really underrated as it's a great modern take on the design that is only drug down by the fact that it needs a belt (either a real one or a red strip) and again, the eyes which are really similar to Raimi's. The Civil War one is a a great modern take while totally nailing the classic elements (webbing, eyes) and adding a cool new feature with the expressive lenses. I'm a fan.

Didn't a newspaper headline in Daredevil say "Hundreds Dead" with a pic of the New York attack? I know TV is a separate-ish branch of Marvel, but I'd be surprised if this movie not only downplays New York to that degree but lacks that basic cohesion with Daredevil. Not in a 'double-checking with what Daredevil said' sort of way, but it's hard to believe that such a stringently controlled brand would let Daredevil float such an important number without taking it from an official canon source/MCU bible.

Maybe the numbers are in thousands.

* image goes up *

Falcon: "To be fair, 74 isn't a huge number for a crisis like this. Sad, but not tragic."

Ross: "Thousand. 74 thousand. Dead. Because of some 'dimensional portal'."

* Falcon buries head in hands *

Casualties in that sense should include injuries as well, so even fewer died. Not a big deal, but I did notice it during the trailer.

Let me guess, you were in charge of Spider-Man and Marvel took it from you.

Oh come on.

Yea especially New York which had no time to evacuate, and they had entire high rise buildings collapsing. DC had huge warships in air shooting guns at each other, all the missed shots had to land somewhere, and all the debris from flying aircraft carriers?

I mean, the casualties number is laughable, but beyond that, 3 Billion in losses for 3 helicarriers and SHIELD HQ really makes no sense.
