Jesus in all hell is that Napalm Mission both challenging and super hard with a group on Hard mode. Get that person to design future missions please, we actually had to think about what to do and that's a great sign.

That was a blast.
The department store is pretty difficult on hard. I played it with one other person, we couldn't down the boss. Other parts took multiple tries too.

I am having a fine time doing solo, level 17 now soloed everything and outside of Hardmode and DZ its all do-able and not hard if you are the same or higher level. Obviously things will be easier in groups as it is the same enemies but 3 or 4 people shooting them instead of one.

Man, I am glad you are awesome, but this game is clearly balanced to be a multipayer game after you level up a bit. I have died countless times rolling from position to position trying to play out the spots of multiple players. The encounters are just designed that way and it is not single player friendly at all once you hit level 8-9. I don't care how good you are, this is a multiplayer game through and through. And that is disappointing.

Can we see your gear, skills, and talents setup?

All I have found so far is green and blue gear. I love the game, but missions have so many enemies coming in from everywhere that it is obviously made for multiplayer. I still dig it, but I am going to have to match make to enjoy it all the way. As that is how it is obviously made.

LOL, I have been soloing this shit. It is a killer game, but with ZERO regard for the single player once you hit level 9 or so. The difficulty spike is a joke. Be warned single players.
Why don't you just group with randoms? Just pretend the other players are AI. I don't get it.

I mean it's really easy to group in this game, and no one ever talks, so it's not like you're going to have to deal with assholes.

Dang, you're making me not want to break the seal on this one. I have it sitting here, waiting to be played after Far Cry, but it sounds like a frustrating solo experience. I knew it was multiplayer-focused, but hoped it would still be reasonably enjoyable as a single player experience.

All I can relay is my experience. It's all good up to a certain point, but then it is clearly intended to be pure multiplayer for the regular missions and especially the DZ. The beta was a breeze compared to this shit. If you want to go solo, this is going to be a rough experience once you hit level 9 or so. I am just telling you straight up.

What the hell are you talking about? I am level 14 and not much has been all that hard solo for me so far other than the DZ.

Had my first crash PS4 at the worst possible time I can imagine.

Doing the mission scanning bills in the mall and fighting that cleaner boss...........
He's down to no health at all after this long ass fight and all the reinforcements........
I throw a turrent and unload and right as he is dieing CRASH CE-34878-0 an error has occured. I haven't had the urge to throw a control in along time. lol

I've played completely solo so far, i'm level 8 still but everything is fine you just have to be smart and use the land. DZ is near impossible solo.

it is amazing for the first 10 hours or so, but be warned. That difficulty spike and hint to group up is very real. I mean, you feel great and then you hit a fucking wall. Just stating it like it is.

Game is actually easier to solo in a lot of places as the enemy numbers seem to scale with player count. No clue what he/she is talking about.

Mind you, I'm only level 13 and haven't done hard modes. I've completed stuff just as easily on my own.

Dark Zone? Better off in a group for sure.

Oh, I am going to. As I don't stand a chance trying to go solo, lol. The game is not a solo affair at all after a certain point.

It really is a solo affair. You've been very absolute with you "this game is absolutely 100% not made for single player at all".

However it's probably just a gear thing for you. Chances are either your DPS is too low or your stamina. What are they at now at your level? If you're level 11 they should be around the 5,000+ level.

Edit: you're also putting people off playing this, which isn't really fair :/

Totally ridiculous, the number of enemies scale with the number of people in the group. The number of them in single player is an appropriate number for a solo player. in a 4 man group you get significantly more enemies.

EDIT: Aside from the Dark Zone, obviously, since it's a public area there's no scaling, but some places are very hard to do solo due to mob density.

^ As he said. Enemy numbers scale with your party members.

I'm now at level 17 and doing everything mostly solo. I've never had any problem with normal mode missions. Yes the enemies are plenty but if you focus your fire on the right enemies first you won't get overwhelmed. Focus on the normal enemies (red ones) first, then proceed with the elites (purple) then lastly the boss (yellow).

Here's my priorities:
1. Chargers (the ones with baseball bat)
2. Grenadiers
3. Snipers
4. Everything else

And be mobile, don't stay at your starting cover position at all times. Get behind/besides your enemies if you can. They won't realize you're moving if you're well covered.

Im guessing you have 1500-2000 health. My friend was doing the same thing. Only gearing up dps. Few changes and he can take a few hits now.

You get Phoenix Credits from daily missions at lvl 30 right? I'm at a DZ vendor (safehouse) and I see them selling:

I'm lvl 29 atm, plan on farming DZ ranks in this bracket since soloing in the 30 bracket seems like impossible.

How much Phoenix Credits do you get daily btw?

Agree, I dont want to start a conversation, I will just say I have played solo and only died near the end of a few missions when I face the elite boss. Doing the non-missions is not hard at all. (Side missions, encounters are a breeze). I am guessing he is just way underleveled for the zones he is in.

Just curious: is there a reason some folks are adamant to running solo? The game's always online anyway, it's super easy to group up and then get out and the story (to the point I've played at any rate) is not some narrative masterpiece of character and plot. What am I missing?

Almost lvl 14 and have played solo the entire time without an issue. There are a few slightly challenging spots in a few of the missions but nothing to hard. If you're scared about playing this because you plan on playing solo, don't be. It's totally playable by yourself.

I'm also jumping on the "this isn't unfriendly to single player" bandwagon.

I'm doing just as well solo as I am in a group. I don't think it has anything to do with me being incredible at the game either.

LOL, perhaps I have just been doing the wrong missions. I still love the game, but the encounters after a certain point are clearly balanced towards having players in different positions. I am not blind.

I have no mic and couldnt get a DZ group in the 4 times I tried. I will try matchmaking my next mission.

I prefer to play with my friends/people I know well instead of random people. Because of this I'm playing solo for the time being until my friends pick it up.

I'm level 13 and I'm not having trouble with the main missions. I usually match make with randoms just to make the missions more interesting.

I've been in around 8 different random groups so far and they were all fine.

Just went into the DZ with a full group of friends on our level 7 characters. That was pretty brutal. We ranked up to 7 pretty fast but then someone in our group got us Rogue and then lost a level along with everything I found which wasn't much luckily.

So yeah, after about an hour of trying to kill the mass of skull level purples and yellows, we high tailed it out of there. We'll head back when we're probably around 12/13.

Is there only one entrance into the DZ? On my other character I thought I had a mission at level 10 to go to the southern area but we entered into a section in the south west of the map.

So I'm seeing people mention levelling up stamina and dps. How? I've not seen any screens for investing stats like that so far, just perks and abilities.
I imagine by changing their weapons/gear which is where the stats are typically generated from.

Its a decent game but i just cant get into it. This coming from a destiny and a heavy FFXIV player. Maybe im sick of ranking up n grinding for loot.

Don't be afraid. Just read the comments here, the only who has issues with solo play is ironcreed.

I'm not saying he's bad and I'm good at the game either. Heck, I don't even play shooters games anymore these days. My last similar game was Mass Effect 3 which was years ago.

Open your inventory, it's at the top of your screen.

DPS | Stamina | Skill Power

For more in-dept analysis, change the tab to the right.

It's not that. I just don't to be burned like I did with Destiny as I had to constantly do quest by myself as I couldn't get into a group and it was a more like work than fun doing quests. But it does seem the matchmaking is much better in this game.

Help.... What do you do after the precent mission? I beat it and a boss. The game said go to Manhattan and then went to a queue of like 500. It went down to 0 and started loading but never finished and got stuck. Restarted and I have no missions. Any ideas?

I'm 12 and things haven't been that hard. Sure there are wipes but it's quite doable. Knowing where enemies come out is important to survival.

Yes, everything can be done via matchmaking. Free roam, missions, to dark zones. It's pretty seamless as well.

Ha, Ha, Ha.

You're not helping us to help you..

No, I am on normal and it has been smooth sailing until I hit level 9. Now every mission is a death sentence. But I am open minded and will not quit. Perhaps I need new gear and a different approach. I do still love the game.

Yeah, I'm focused on a Damage/Stamina build and always keep the healing skill on.
