No, I am on normal and it has been smooth sailing until I hit level 9. Now every mission is a death sentence. But I am open minded and will not quit. Perhaps I need new gear and a different approach. I do still love the game.

I seriously think it's just your gear. For me I found some great weapon in the beta and found it pretty easy. Now in the release I haven't found anything near as good and at level ten its harder than it was(still doable). I just know if I could gear up a little better it'd be smoother sailing.

What are Phoenix Credits?

End game currency used to purchase level 30 high-end and legendary gear and blueprints from special gear vendor, located in BoO's 2nd floor.

Phoenix Credits can be gained by doing daily missions, killing named NPC's in DZ etc.

Edit:
Should I be concerned with min/maxxing redeeming the uplay currency thing? Phoenix Credits look like they're an end game sorta thing?

Grab that Phoenix Credit pack, 30 is decent headstart to that farm.

Ironcreed, completely retreat back into the level if you have to. Also, try to remember where the spawns are. Up close, the shield guys, the shot gun to the face is your friend. It drops them in one hit. Try to herd mobs into corridors if possible. Use guerrilla hit and run tactics when called for.

Like a few have said, it's possibly your gear too. My main does 5k, the others drop shit my level in 3-5 hits to the body. 1 if it's the head using a scar marksman rifle.

Btw, my main gun classic ak47 chews up purple armor dudes.

I was feeling this game a lot but now I'm not really sure what to think. At level 15 in Dark Zone solo, enemies are unfun ammo sponges and some of the spawning is really frustrating. At one point I had maybe 13 enemies all waiting for me at the spawn door.

I also haven't seen any other players in the Dark Zone for at all today (over 4 hours) and loot hasn't been worth it either. It's also surprising that there is literally nothing to do in the Dark Zone except shoot random spawned NPCs.

Headshots are really satisfying, and the gear progression is solid. But I can't see myself putting in much more time solo

Just played in the dark zone for 2 hours, saw one other player. What gives?

Thats one more than I've seen in 4 hours. It's been pretty boring.

I noticed a pretty decent bump in difficulty/frustration when I hit level 10. Failed out on a few map encounters and I've died a few times. Before then I'd only died twice. I'd appreciate an easy option so I can move past the more frustrating encounters and enjoy the game by myself, seeing as I don't give a shit about being a badass urban warrior or anything.

Are they gonna fix this?

IMO from 1-29, the only truly bullshit/anti-solo element I found was
those huge ass dudes with a big unbreakable shield. For fuck's sake, they barely get affected by CC all that long before they go back to having auto-facing your character with their big ass shield (90% of headshots are blocked unless you get on high ground) while they whittle you down with their pistol or even mounting their LMG on their shields, lmao.

I feel like I must really suck at this game. I can't do the fifth mission (broadway) at all. There seems to be only one enemy class and they all have flamethrowers and I'm just getting stomped repeatedly. The last mission got a bit hard at the end but this just seems hopeless. This was with four players too so I dunno how to go about this really except keep joining new groups and hoping. Is it really gonna be THIS hard?

What level you guys are? If below 30 then I can see DZ being barren of players, as I imagine most staying out of there until 30. I'm level 30 and seeing other players running around etc. in DZ is very common. Very few rogues, but I think it's because everyone just wants high DZ Rank and gear up.

15, but last night I saw plenty in the 1-14 zone.

With the flame thrower dudes you need to keep your distance. I also reccomend having everyone on the team running with some healing thing, that makes life so much better. The cleaners imo are the harder of the factions.

Just curious: is there a reason some folks are adamant to running solo? The game's always online anyway, it's super easy to group up and then get out and the story (to the point I've played at any rate) is not some narrative masterpiece of character and plot. What am I missing?

The reason I have been going more solo than group is because everyone in groups just bum-rushes the objectives. I like taking my time, looking at the details, exploring etc.I'm not having a hard time at all, I mean some parts are hard but I'm okay with that, but nothing so far has been impossible.

Lol lost 92k DZ credits, 4 keys and gone down from lvl 32 to 30 after getting killed while trying to survive a manhunt.

Yeah going rogue is very sadly a bad idea.

I like solo just for taking it slow and taking everything in and playing at my own pace. I've had no real problems playing solo except maybe a few times. Really enjoy taking in the atmosphere, but playing with some friends that you can coordinate with is a whole other level of fun.

Okay, I have hit the wall. This is not single player friendly at all beyond a certain point and you will get absolutely wrecked unless you start to match make at level 11 or so. Absolute bullshit levels of difficulty for the single player. Don't be fooled how easy it is for the first few hours. The game is unbalanced as hell and is clearly intended for all multiplayer. Even the DZ is a death sentence,

What? I went to 21 solo and only grouped then because I wanted better loot.

Sounds like maybe you're not using a marksman rifle as primary nor going for headshots. You also need to devote at least 1 skill to healing.

Having heaps of fun with this so far. Even though some of the side missions get repetitive enjoying them enough in between the main ones.

Dark Zone is pretty good so far - in the easy zone about 10 of us all just seemed to band together to take out mobs and call extractions. Was on edge the entire time but everyone was a good guy.

I am assault rifle and shotgun and I have plenty of head shots as well. But I'll switch it up some.

I'll help myself. No offense, but this is not my first rodeo. This is just a different kind of RPG. I dig that in a way.

Well, fair enough then. :)

Yeah, the cleaners are nasty. But I heard that there is an even nastier faction later at level 20+.

How to change who I write to on chat? Either my group or global?

Chat commands:

/w [Nickname] – you can use this command to chat privately with a specific player in the game.
/p, /g or /group – any one of these commands switches the channel to group chat, so you can talk to your teammates.
/1 – use this to switch back to public chat.
/s – this command is used for chatting with nearby players.

Love goading players in the DZ to start shooting me. Killing rogue agents is by far the fastest way to get dz xp I've found.

If you're soloing that is.

Is it better to go with the armor pieces that increase your overall stats (DPS, Health, Skill Power), or the one that has a higher base value on the armor itself?

Issue of player availability in level ranges matchmaking bracket, especially when outside of primetime.

That doesn't makes sense considering there were plenty of people yesterday during the same time, unless they all qut or didnt level up once in 24 hours. Or is there an issue where levels can only see other certain level ranges in the DZ?

there have also been problems with matchmaking, with taking a long time to only find one other person.

So is the DZ basically MMO-land for The Division? I just got to level 10 but haven't entered yet. Thinking of doing all story missions first and getting to a higher level before entering.

So after calling this game boring, I have been converted. I am level 16 having played around 8hrs. Play as a squad an a friend which helps. The first time I went into the DZ I thought everyone would be after each other. But nope, we joined up with 6 other people and just went around clearing the first DZ area out. The only problem was we had this one guy that would always run in your line of fire so you became roque.

What a fucking joke. Had all purple items for dead zone and just got ganked by a bunch of kiwi morons. Fuck this game. Lost it all.

Im about to try darkzone for the first time, level 10... I'm nervous. I did it in beta and would consistently get my ass handed to me. I just want good gear :( my gear is crap!

There's nothing quite like chasing a rogue in the DZ and taking them out. Especially when they blindsided you first and took all your loot.

Two things bug me right now regarding endgame.

I already have high end stuff in every slot. There is little reason to do anything now since Incursions are not in yet.

Gear score is also not visible to us so I don't even know if I'm prepared for the incursions. Hopefully they make the gear score visible before incursions drop so we can prepare ahead of time.

Tomorrow I guess all that is left is getting to DZ lvl 50.

I am conflicted now, lol. Based on this it seems like I can just grind dailies and just stay away from DZ completely to gear up, since even DZ vendor gear is worse than phoenix credit crafted gear. Even worse when all the DZ high end gear requires rank 50 to even buy them to begin with.

So...
1) Get to lvl 30 and do dailies, grind missions to get loot to breakdown to craft from the phoenix credit blueprints, stay away from DZ forever (impossible to solo in the 30s bracket, DZ gear being inferior and take forever to grind ranks anyway)

or

2) Stay in the 25-29 bracket and farm DZ rank, lose out on phoenix credit from dailies.

Attn Xbone players: I'm level 24, in the 20-24 DZ bracket. Looking to level dark zone up. Anyone wanna join?

Is there a dz lfg site?

LOL. Maybe you should wait a few levels so you don't get your ass kicked!

I did it at level 10 and was fine. All depends who is in the dz with you.

On another subject. Is there a way to make crafting less random with a skill or perk? Or does it stay as just luck?

Well DZ is divided into matchmaking brackets, if there isn't that many players in bracket into which you belong then you won't be seeing a lots of other players. I don't remember level ranges for matchmaking brackets, but you see it at up left as "DZ Player bracket: X - Y" when inside DZ.

Can't comment on matchmaking too much, only used in once to get players into challenge mission. Took only few seconds to find 2 players.

So you don't even have best gear equipped ;)

Finally found.someone online to play with and really enjoyed running around.doing side stuff grabbing Intel and doing a mission

I have zero idea why anyone.would play these types of games.solo

Love the game so far but destiny felt like it had a better sense of community and I liked seeing.players everywhere when this game feels like a ghost town most the time.

My friend just got it and I played with him a few levels. Once he was ready I introduced him to the Dark Zone. We ended up having one of the best times ever with a multiplayer game in there. Could possibly even say it was Destiny raid levels of fun.

We got stuck on a gas station roof with enemies surrounding us. Two rogues down below as well. Fighting through that and ultimately getting our maxed out bags on the rope was exhilarating. Two hours of paranoia, strategy, and fun. The busiest I've ever seen the Dark Zone.

Been trying but that boss at the end has way too much reach. I've spent most of my night playing this damn mission over and over only to get to the end and have everyone quit. Then that means teleporting back to HQ, walk all the way back out there again and matchmake for another fail. The only updside is I'm learning a bit about the stats and perks forcibly but the brick wall is really not fun.
