What jappened with tomb rauder then? the reason tomb raider didn't sell is because it wasn't on ps4? I heard that a lot

It's not in NA, anyway. They're not leaving dedicated gaming hardware as long as they make money on software and licensing for Xbox, which seems like they are. They're not getting that 30% cut on the volumes of game software there anywhere else and Gold subs aren't going to fly on Win. All they're doing is tying their other devices to an interconnected platform with their Win10 devices strategy because it's smart and because Xbox is MS' only mega success outside of Windows/enterprise software/services. They may be making disappointing decisions, like killing off some of their studios, but that's just them ensuring the kind of profitability a massive corporation always aims for. As much as the market has contracted and is still contracting, their second place is still an enviable position that is only overshadowed by Sony's success. In the last cycle, PS3 seemed to be a worse platform to be maintaining compared to X360 from a money-making perspective, so there's always the future of not making the same mistakes again with what remains of this one and this one may be the first to fully transition to the model every other consumer software platform already thrives upon.
For sure, R&C looks very good at a very good price point. I'm sure it will help in selling a some consoles.

Tomb Raider is a franchise associated with Playstation and sells a lot more on Playstation than Xbox. Street Fighter is not comparable to that situation.
You mean in 2007 when they disbanded FASA, Bungie left and Peter Moore jumped ship to EA? Or 2009 when they shut down Ensemble and Aces?

So... not a single human being bought a PS4 to play Street Fighter? EVO's record number of Street Fighter entries are only from people who were already PS4 owners? That seems at least a little unlikely...
When they shut down PC studios development......... In order to focus gaming on consoles..............

The game is out on PC. I'm not saying you're wrong, but having a PS4 isn't the only way to play it.

I'm not happy that SFV bombed, but it's deserved. I think the weak response to SFV has been in the making for awhile now.
- Four versions of Street Fighter IV
- Burning people with the transition from Marvel vs. Capcom 3 to Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3
- The awful handling of Street Fighter X Tekken
After all of this I think it would be obvious Capcom couldn't release SFV in it's current state, but they did. Hopefully SFV has long legs, because this could effect green lighting other fighting games from Capcom going forward.
I had dismissed the talk of MS exiting the HW side of the Xbox business. I thought it was 1+1 = 4.

The reason for high PS4 sales this month isn't SFV. It had a minimal impact.

X1 will definitely fall behind 360/PS3 this year if it hasn't already.
So they forced a successful PC developer to make failed Xbox games then shut it down in the context of axing PC first party studios and cutting loose thier third party PC partners....

Same here, also I have missed the baseline used to deduce the PS4 is around 400K, anyone could clarify ?
If MS were to back out I'm pretty sure this would see a return to form for Nintendo. They kind of bowed out after the GC gen because there was no market in having three consoles all doing exactly the same thing.

OK, let me explain.
There are two different paths through the game which differentiate after a few missions and have completely different missions (including maps), playable characters and even the focus is different. One version is more hardcore in that it does not allow for grinding and has more challenging maps, whereas the other (more popular, sadly) version is more inviting, allows for grinding and has an increased focus on social interaction between the characters in the game ("Waifu simulator"-content). Game engine, story and some characters are the same, though in one game you play on one side of the war, in the other game on the other side of the war. People who bought the Special Edition have obtained both versions and additionally a third path through the game which will now be released as a DLC for the stand alone versions.
People who have bought either version still have the option to get the other version as DLC for a reduced price of 20$, so, if Nintendo is not counting this DLC as additional sales of FE Fates, then it's probably fair to count the 400k as sales for one game, if they do count the DLC as additionally sold copies of Fire Emblem Fates, then it is very difficult to get a clear picture of how many people bought Fates.
