Leaping/rolling into the Base of Operations entrance is the new Mega Man boss door jump. You actually save a couple seconds b/c of how slow you walk lol.

Anyone else do this?

i'm that dude in the dark zone watching to see how your intense battle with PVE enemies is going

Laughed hard at post + gif.

Spot on!

The one time I've been in the DZ so far has been a doozy. I had some nice stuff and was waiting on the extraction heli to land. With about 6 seconds left, all these rioters came out of no where and gunned me down.

I came back and tried again. This time I was ready for them. The helicopter actually dropped the rope before the enemies appeared. I threw out a turret and it distracted them. I was able to extract my loot and got out of there with the quickness.

Right now I'm at level 15 in the normal zone and I have been encountering more firefights when roaming the streets than ever before. Is anyone else experiencing this? I have no problem with it, as it helps build my level up, but I wonder if this happens by design.

I will now, find it super annoying that the game slows down to a walk when your entering. I want to sprint right through that shit mang.

I keep walking through the world in the game. Like it's not loading in this specific piece of road and it's pretty funny.

I really have no idea, but it probably depends also on the number of people in area and the respawn time, still, currently at lvl 23 and it seems a lot more active, lots of elites as well

So, it could scale up a bit as you level i guess?

Discovered yesterday that if you're playing in a group, and exit the game entirely (my game crashed to desktop) and come back, you'll automatically be placed back in their game.

More games should do this. That's awesome
Does this on xbone as well. I kept falling through the floor, so dashboarded and logged back in... I was still in the group, and helped them in the mission. This game

Binged a bit and got to DZ rank 10 from 0 last night.

Y'all. The DZ is pretty damned fun. I still have a question mark re: its staying power. I hope they add more of a variety of things to do in the Zone later (like events that bring players together, other than extraction), but for now, that feeling of "oh shit, another player" is enough.

Had the best experience last night that I'm dying to share, so here goes.

I'm still level 7ish (having a 9 month old to take care of I'm surprised I'm not lower level) and it's 10 PM Wednesday night. I had done a few side activities and tweaked some mods and my loadout when I decide "Ok, I'm going to go do that trainyard medical mission". I haven't really tried the matchmaking yet so I figure I'd give it a try.

About a minute or two later, I get a hit and join up. Luckily they were still at the beginning. A quick glance at the party list shows me they're level 5-6. Not sure why they're so underleveled, but whatever.

So we make our way through the mission, and we are just getting dumpstered left and right by elites with flamethrowers. In one of the big firefights (hah), a huge wave of enemies engages us from the front, and we get flanked by elites every time and killed. After a few tries, I get up on some high ground while the squaddies lay down some cover fire, pull out my marksman rifle, and explode a few normals in single shots, using the turret from odd angles to cover weird pushes from the enemies. Ok, awesome. We made it through to the boss room...

...And then proceed to wipe about 8 times. After the 6th or 7th, someone quits, and we try everything to get the encounter clear. I switch skills time and time again. Smart cover doesn't work. The sticky bomb isn't really doing it for us. Scan doesn't change anything. Every time, the same result: we take out the first wave, then the boss wave shows up and we get baited into attacking the left flank while they sneak around the right. We attack the right, and they all bunch left. We try getting high ground, and spreading out, they cut through the gap we leave, stranding our sniper, and cutting through to take us out.

Finally, I've had enough. R1: Turret. L1: Heal. Let's go. It's just the three of us, like I said. First wave down, boom. Second wave starts up. I hit the cover on the right side, taking shots at anyone trying to flank us. A quick glance to my left shows that the elites are starting to bunch up and push that side. So I toss my turret on top of our rightmost cover, and pull out the marksman rifle. I see an elite that's low on life, no armor. Tap out 3-4 shots without even thinking, and he goes down. Same for another. Tag a normal with low HP. Shit, right flank again. Barely manage to take down the next elite and heal up with a medpak lying around that I happen to scramble across.

Then I realize it's gone quiet. It's just the boss left now; I see my squadmates taking shots at him. One gets hit by him and his turret and loses a good 3/4ths HP, and I get an idea. Flank on the right. Good, he didn't see me. They're keeping him busy. I check my skill indicator, and my turret comes off cooldown. I'm flanking him now. Grinning, I toss the turret on the cover right next to him and start firing. He freaks, backs off, and jumps behind some better cover, with my turret rattling off shots nonstop.

And then I see it.

"Suppressed"

My character looks down his scope once more, lines up the shots, and he goes down. Finally, he goes down.

Many jumping jacks were jumped that day.

Then I looked at the clock and realized it was 12:30 AM. Shit.

Most of the game is pure PvE and the dark zone is locked off by level, you've got nothing to worry about.

game is perfectly fine for whatever pace

Thanks for the replies. I never tried the betas because I figured I wouldn't be able to put in the proper amount of time. However, the positive impressions, tax return money burning a hole in my pocket, and good ole GCU may have me pick up the game this weekend.

I'm impressed at how fast you guys got to 30 I'm still 14 O_o

If you only do main mission and side mission you level up pretty quickly. I've cleaned up the maps from lvl 1 to 9 (with the exception of item pick-ups like phone and such) Those take a lot of time for little reward. I'm nearly done with the base of operation and im only 14 too. I like a clean map :3

Does anyone know of a way (as a lvl 15 (not DZ lvl)) to play with my sub lvl 14 friends in the DZ?

If not I would LOVE it if they had a handicapping feature so I could play with them. Would also be cool to "match" the leaders level in missions so there isn't that over powered enemy problem.

I went down into the sewers last night while just roaming around exploring. I didn't find anything down there, and I eventually found another ladder up to the manhole exit. As soon as I climbed to the top and exited on to the desolate street, I noticed it was eerily quiet. Just the sound of the wind sweeping between buildings. Except I could hear ever so faintly the voice of a girl singing, coming from a nearby apartment. I realized she was singing Amazing Grace and it gave me some serious feels. What an amazing moment.

I also was running up the street last night and watched a guy drop to his knees and slowly die in the street. I couldn't help but stop and watch. I actually felt like "Man, I wish there was something I could do to help this guy! Take a medkit! Granola bar?"

I think some people are underestimating the power of the electronics stat. You're skills are so much more effective the higher the number goes. I love being able to go and look at each skill in the skill tab and see the entire breakdown of the damage, duration and cool downs for each one.

I don't even know if shotguns are viable in PvE endgame, i mean, you can barely peak out of cover and you helath drops by 2 almost instantly, it's insanely risk, unless you can one shot npcs

Neither of those are shotguns, so I'm curious where that came from. Assault + marksman

So I asked this question during one of the betas, and was told that these things were in the game, but I still can't seem to find any streamers doing it, or articles mention it, maybe I'm blind, who knows.

But, to get to the question. What's there to do in the game once you hit lvl 30? Are there actually any content designed around group play like strikes or dungeons? I guess the incursion thing coming later will probably be a raid type thing, but for right now, what's there to do for someone interested in pve content? ( and group content specifically )

Because I'm trying to watch some streams, and litterally the only thing I see is people sprinting in streets and collecting cahces of loot.

The dailies, which is harder version of the main mission, so basically hard mode strikes if you played Destiny, or nightfall = challenge mode (for better loot). But because going into the DZ awards the same best loot, its more efficient, mainly quicker to find top loot since there's not a lot of people contesting those zones yet and since people don't really grief yet.

For what I have read from this thread, it is basically looting for better gear, which takes a lot of time, DZ fun and play the daily missions. I suppose that updates will bring new and more balanced content. Think about how much has Diablo 3 changed since release. It's a different game honestly.

The Division |OT2| They got Alex!

New York....so

|OT2| Dey got Alex!

No, i meant having a viable build outside of a.rifle + marksman sounds hard atm

I tried shotguns but to me their are not worth the risk

Ahh. Shotguns have only been viable for me when I'm cheesing a low mission or doing DZ stuff. Only other combo I like is SMG+Marksman

So "strikes" in the division, is just story missions, but harder? And that's the endgame group pve content?

Seriously?

My Uplay keeps trying to redownload that 650mb patch even though I already have it and I can't verify game files so I may have to uninstall and reinstall. Is my character saved server side? If i reinstall will i still have all my weapons and such.

So I have been mildly interested in this title since trying the beta. Since its been compared to Destiny, one hesitation is that the grind of vanilla Destiny really didn't appeal to me after the lackluster story content. So that's one thing I'm grappling with here. That and I'd probably play solo most often with my schedule.

The other that I'd like some perspective on is the "real world" setting of this game and the weapon progression. My impression from the beta is that this is a game where you start with shit gear and the goal is to get good gear. But is it all just stat based improvements? Games like Diablo, Borderlands, and even Destiny to a certain extent had settings/themes where even as you are progressing from scrub to god you can get some quirky fun weapons that went beyond just a stat bump. Since this is real world based, I'm guessing there is less creative progression of weapons here, beyond just the stat bumps. I fear just chasing a higher % reload speed and such will not hold my interest.

Any thoughts or experience from those who've been playing awhile? Thanks.

Pretty fucking annoyed when some missions are glitched. Doing this security wing encounter, killed all the guys and still not complete.

So now that the game has been out more than three days, when will we see the first "I played for 100 hours and there is no content here, this is Destiny all over again, refund please!" Posts/threads?

I learned from Destiny. There's no reason to rush to level cap in these kinds of games. Soon enough we will all be at level cap looking for things to do.

This x100... i learned my lesson in Destiny. Never again. I'll get there when i get there i'm too busy screwing around and enjoying the city, exploring and doing missions i like over and over with different builds etc.
