Captain America: Civil War - Final Trailer

I feel like regardless of if the characterization of Peter and Mary Jane is comic accurate or not, the character story told in that film is more successful than anything in the MCU by a fair margin.

yeah maybe although I also didn't really like the soap opera tone that some of those scenes had. also Marvel typically doesn't really spend a lot of time with stuff like that, they tend to have those fleeting type of character moments where it's just a line and a look to convey something like Cap and Widow's talk while driving in Winter Soldier.

lol no shit

;p

basically what I look for in comic book movies has been successfully created with the MCU movies. I want the comic book characters to come to life on the big screen. that's essentially what's most important to me. so if a comic book movie excels at everything except the proper characterization of the main characters that's going to bug me, especially when it's regarding my favorite hero.

sorry if I'm coming off like a dick, it's hard to present opinions that clearly go against the wider consensus

He's clearly just working out/getting into physical shape for stunts. And yes to be able to do some level of moves. What you're seeing isn't exactly what he's going to do in the film.
That, and he's been doing acrobatics way before the Spider-Man casting. It's not like he started doing backflips specifically because of the character, he started his career performing dance routines in musicals and festivals when he was tiny.

now we're getting meta

They ever do this I hope they replace him with Miguel O Hara for their ethnic Spider-Man instead of boring Miles.

But of course they shouldn't do it all because that's friggin lame. Let him grow up and have a child and let her be Spider-Girl.

Miquel's too good for the unwashed masses

People complain about web shooters wait until you add fangs and claws into the mix

I like the costume, but it feels like a "V.1" and we'll get a new costume without the black highlights and bulky web-shooters in the first Spider-Man movie.

Honestly this shouldn't even need to be spelled out :p

Actors in physically demanding roles do this all the time. The moves he's doing isn't "what you see is what you get"

Even a mention of Spider-Man 2 makes me want to go watch for the upteenth time. I remember when Spidey did this. Small moment, sure, but man did I totally feel like I was watching Spidey go.

I don't know. Marvel should probably fire him because someone on the internet didn't like out of context gymnastics that demonstrates an interest and initiative to preparing for a physically demanding role.

I have possibly a dumb question which has probably been answered already, but would the movie's version of the Superhero Registration Act (comic also; I didn't read them) make superheroes reveal any secret identities?

True enough.

I still can't wait for the salt from Fox News if/when T'Challa puts America in its place

Marvel hasn't let me down yet, and I just feel if they going to do it, it is going to be Wakanda. But to be fair they go some woke ass dudes on script and on the comic so I am crossing my fingers.

Yo everyone's entitled to their opinions but I won't have anyone disrespect Spiderman 2. It is your OG and will be respected as such.

Secret identities in the MCU are barely a thing, but I do think that the Sokovia Accords may involve registering ones identity with the government, which would be an issue for the small fries like Spidey and Daredevil. Maybe it will come up and would be the reason for Peter's switch from Tony's position.

It makes plenty of sense actually. (A lot more than your use of spoiler tags in discussions about the the business of Marvel)

Granted RDJ established the brand. But if you take a poll who people would rather see Spidey or Ironman, it wouldn't even be close. And guess what? Tom Holland is probably the cheapest Avenger at the moment.

If you want keep the brand fresh, you need to move on. Stark's schtick is getting old and his character is venturing into Annoying Land.

Eh, idk about that.

RDJ Stark is incredibly popular.

Spidey is the GOAT hero though, maybe he'll reestablishing his cinematic brand with this film. So far I'm optimistic. I think he'll be big in the New Avengers but will primarily run solo.

Yeah, that was the first thing I thought of when I saw that Spidey appears to be on Team Stark. Like, is he not super invested in his identity not being public?

That's he first time I've heard that. Care to elaborate?

It has a lot of the same shit that turned me off to Spidey 3.

-- The "raindrops" sequence is on the same tier of bad as EmoParkerDancing.gif in my opinion
-- Mary Jane is secretly an unlikable super bitch in both movies
-- Villains in both movies share really lame victim of science origins
-- Way too campy in spots (I swear if another woman screams while directly looking into the camera...)
-- Harry Osborne refuses to think anywhere remotely in the realm of the logical
-- Tobey is a shitty Spidey in both movies (his Parker is good though)

And in general I think both Spider-Man 2 and Spider-Man 3 have a bunch of dumb shit that pull me right out of the movie. Whether it being Sandman being jammed into the Uncle Ben origin, Spider-Man's random superpower impotence in #2, or Harry continuing to hate Spider-Man despite knowing full well that his father was a goddamn murderous psychopath. I know that Back to the Future gif of Doc explaining how Spider-Man 3 retroactively made the other ones shit goes around a bit, but that was honestly true for me. Spidey 3 ruined Spidey 2 for me because they both feel like they share a lot of things I dislike.

Seeing that gif... I'm glad I snagged the extended edition of SM2 on iTunes for 3,99€ 2 weeks ago.

I hope someone dies in this. Otherwise it's almost a cartoon. If there aren't any real stakes then the movie could fall flat.

Needs to be someone major too. I don't think anyone is going to bat an eye if they kill off someone who was just introduced again.

I don't really think
quicksilver is gonna be dead for long anyways. They took his body
. The actor also signed for multiple movies IIRC. I think they revive him for Infinity Wars after they introduce the occult in Dr. Strange.

SPIDER-MAN 2 is the best movie featuring Spider-Man yet.

I'd like to see Marvel top it with this new standalone movie.

I wish we had an alternate ending of that movie where he just splats into the truck

Wakanda's secret Vibranium mine in Manitoba.

i believe its the border of Washington and Canada

Oh you sneaky cads

Showed a friend the trailer and he said "when can we have a spider-man where he's not in high school?"

Apparently 30-year old Tobey and Andrew pretending to be high schoolers for half a movie counts or something
