Is the 2nd one on PC? I don't remember it ever being released on PC.
It was a simultaneous release.

Why would you need to finish FC on PC?I see little point in buying SC for the time being. I almost got it for the PSP last year, but now that I know that 3rd is a PC-exclusive, I don't see the point in buying the PSP version of SC and I still have to finish FC on PC if I want to get SC there.
Yeah, if you're concerned about the save file, it's easy to download a 100% complete FC save. Why would you need to finish FC on PC?
Editing costs a lot of time. The voices are being recorded as we speak, meaning they probably did the editing on those first and all non-voiced lines in the coming months. Why is CS II fall though? It seems the localization is pretty far at the moment.

It's not far. The game's completely 100% translated right now, and it's like most of the way through editing.

Because things take time. They need to record voices and after that is done they need to put those into the game and IIRC there's still some non-voiced dialogue that will need editing and then there's QA that can take its time with a long-ass JRPG like Cold Steel II and then there's Sony's certification process and then there's manufacturing & figuring out logistics etc. While none of those would take too much time by themselves, they accumulate to something that means it'll still take more than 3-4 months for this to hit store shelves. Why is CS II fall though? Is Zero lengthier than SC?I'm not a PC gamer myself, but will gladly make an exception for The 3rd. What helps is that the game's is approximately FC's length -- the two shortest games of the series.

The bonuses for transferring SC's saves to 3rd are pretty minimal. But if you care that much for it you can just get a 100% save file somewhere.

Pretty sure SC has the most text in the entire series, by people from XSEED's estimates.

And on top of this, a lot of these things you mentioned, like putting the finished files into the game proper etc are handled on Falcom's end, which means more time.
That said, I think it should be clear that XSEED has apparently figured out how to localize these games in a way that works for them schedule-wise.
An SC-level catastrophe is probably not ever gonna happen again. Not with this series at least.
Text doesn't necessarily equate to length though, FC has more text than either Cold Steel game.
Last year Tom estimated that if they really pushed for it, they could probably "catch up" with the Japanese releases (including the upcoming Cold Steel 3) in about 5 years.
Doesn't necessarily mean they will do that, but they seem to have a good idea of the scope of each project and how long it would take. I wouldn't be surprised if the biggest hurdle for Crossbell ends up being the need for a viable version to release.
Yeah, the lack of a good version of Ao might be the biggest hurdle remaining. They seem to have the translation process figured out.
It's not a huge deal I just prefer jrpgs like this on handhelds. If Xseed is pulling away from the vita in 2017 then I guess the vita will be dead in 2017.Yeah thats how it is
Bummer but expected
Did you play it with a controller or some other way? I've tried to play FC/SC on my tablet but the game won't respond to my controllers inputs for whatever reason.What.
I played through a chunk of SC in my tablet without any major issues (other than slowdowns in foggy areas), and you and I both know that my tablet is way crappier than yours.
Less of an issue with Sony and more just PSP being a deader than dead platform & the PSP versions being a bitch to work on.Damn, PC only. Guess I'll buy it on Steam when it launches, I wonder why they couldn't just put it on the psp Vita store front. If they're already doing a PC release, I can't imagine it being too costly to do a PSP Vita release.
I bet this has to be an issue on Sony's side but of course it's just speculation.
That really differs per player. SC took me 100 hours, Zero 75; but I've seen those digits swapped more often. The scripts are approximately the same size.Is Zero lengthier than SC?

The hype train lives on! Too bad I can't really use that avatar anymore though, eh.![]()
The dream lives on! Oh, how we took to those beautiful blue skies~
Say this the day they confirm they're not doing Tokyo Xanadu (which seems doubtful). It's been explained again and again why they wouldn't do 3rd PSP or 3rd Evo.It's not a huge deal I just prefer jrpgs like this on handhelds. Huh? Nothing's been said about it yet, but just because nothing's been said yet, people assume they aren't going to do it for some reason.
Where do you start (and continue) with this franchise? PC only.

I'm so happy about that !
... But i wonder why Carpe Fulgur wasn't chosen ? Trails in the Cold Steel wasn't too bad but i kinda though it lacked the "extra Ompf" that First and Second Chapter have.
Maybe just my imagination ?

I think you read that backwards, it's a double negative saying it's likely they will work on Tokyo Xanadu.
