Someone with power needs to pin this directly on Trump and keep doing it.

Who?

The media won't since Trump is a rating magnet, and that's all they care about.

There's nobody in the GOP who can, as his supporters hate the establishment.

There's no Democrat who can as it'll just get passed off as liberals trying to silence him, which will only rule his base up even more.

Trump isn't an idiot, he knows exactly what he's doing.

Agreed.

Tbh I think it's wrong when protesters try to ruin a rally. We either live in a democrazy or we don't. If we do, free speech, even if uncomfortable, is allowed.

Of course, that would be different if the government said Trump has gone too far and his movement is illegal. Then it should be shut down. But unless that happens, let him speak. Everybody here would complain if Trump supporters sabotaged a Clinton rally.

Trump has the right to speak at a rally. Protesters have the right to protest. It's how free speech works. The only time when free speech would be violated is if the government tried to shut down the rally. UIC, a state school and a government institution, let Trump hold the rally as the First Amendment dictates. UIC students and protesters protested the rally, as it is within their right.

When you say that everyone is racist, you yourself admit that you are a racist. Well, guess what? Not everyone is like you. "Everyone is racist" is such a horrible right-wing framing of racism and it's a shallow attempt at deflection.
It's true, though. People are prone to prejudical beliefs. It's important to make an effort to eliminate such prejudices, but if you refuse to accept that you are racist that will never happen. Obviously, there are varying degrees of racist beliefs, attitudes, and behaviors (A lot of people think that because they don't hate X group of people, tell racist jokes, or consciously harbor ill will they aren't racist. Not so).

What are you even talking about here, how could the government even do that with free speech laws? But let me ask another question, according to your post should no one be able to protest anyone else because according to your definition they're infringing on someone's speech?

Well, can we all take note now that Trump has spoken on all three big news networks and goes in depth with CNN.

He had his rally another way.

Gotta love Trump complaining you can't have a rally without violence...right, except every other candidate's rally this season but yours.

Talk about living in your bubble.

His supporters are still simply a plurality of the GOP voters, not a majority. The anti-establishment sentiment does not run so deep as to make his majority support a certainty.

If the establishment GOP were lambasting Trump every day like they did Obama for the last 8 years it would absolutely make an impact on independants and the majority GOP voters.

You just know CNN was rooting for people to get seriously hurt at the rally. Violence and death would seriously boost their ratings. They(CNN and the corporate media in general) help stoke the tension whenever possible.

If only Romney was relevant. This distilled anger and hate we're seeing that is Donald and his supporters are immune to casual republican failures like Romney and the Bushes.

It's not really about changing the minds of his supporters, they're minds are largely already made up. It's about keeping other republicans and independents from moving towards him by showing just how disliked and ugly he really is. His supports are a big part of the republican party but a much smaller part of the American public, the more people can do to show that he isn't a unifier but a divider is going to help keep new people from joining his side.

My best guess is that they would just wait until the next Trump-type candidate comes around for them to vote for - either that or they'll run back to the establishment Republicans. With that said, I definitely wouldn't rule out violence or an attempt at insurrection (at least from a few people).

Or even worse, an assination attempt.

I wouldn't put anything past some of these people, they're that deranged.

And that scares the ever loving fuck out of me.

So Trump is trying to spin this as:

1) My freedom of speech was violated.
2) The police advised me to shut down the rally, it was nothing the protestors did.
3) The protesters incited violence first! (at previous rallies)
4) The anger you are seeing is due to lack of jobs.
5) The anger isn't directed at me.

No offense but I'm tired of statements like this; his speeches are rambling nonsense; but I've literally seen him called a "great orator"... Or "you have to admit he's a genius", no the fuck I don't.

He's a lying moron; he's successful because this country has a large swath of lying morons whose egos are propped up by intellectually dishonest drivel like what Trump spews. I really don't buy this idea that he's some smart strategist; he's just an asshole spewing turds at the right place / right time.

Trump on CNN

Question: Would you be willing to meet with protestors?
Trump: I wouldn't mind meeting with them, as long as it's in good spirits and they aren't agitators.

As I've said, if you still support Trump at this point, you're selfish at best, and racist at worst.

He spinning so hard he may negate the Earth rotation.

Yeah, the sheer amount of free media attention he gets is fucking ridiculous. Do they have no shame? Just call in by phone and talk for however long you want. Nobody else running gets that treatment. What a shitshow.
