Massive ongoing protest in Chicago makes Trump "postpone" his event

What exactly is controversial about this statement? Is the tweet an autostereogram, and I have to cross my eyes and read between the lines to see what's so disgusting about her statements?

I don't get it either, on Super Tuesday the message Clinton strode out with was "Make America Whole again". The tweet points out violence being unacceptable and uses an example of a hateful symbol linked to a tragic event and the bipartisan response.

Clinton: The ugly, divisive rhetoric we are hearing from Donald Trump & the encouragement of violence & aggression is wrong & it's dangerous

yeah i'm quick to call out "both sides" nonsense too, but i'm not seeing it here

OK.

Look, I'm not suggesting that Hillary should have said "FUCK DONALD DRUMPF! KILL ALL HIS SUPPORTERS!!! RAAAWWWRRRR!!!" but she could have simply pointed out that he has been inciting hate and violence at his rallies for months, has been encouraging his supporters to assault non-violent protestors at his rallies and then orgistrated yesterdays events to create a situation where his supporters would be outnumbered by protestors at a rally. There's no need to then do the "both sides can learn from this" game. It suggests that there equal culpability to both sides when there's not.

She just did that:

Again: you're reading way more into her statement than what's actually there.

According to this, back in November, both Trump and Carson requested it.

Back in 2012, it seems like Romney 'requested' it but somebody else approached him about it.

I'm guessing the candidate has to formally request the Secret Service detail but somebody from Homeland Security pretty much forces it on them.

How does Drumpf think he'd be able to order private industry around as president? Is he promising nationalization?

He's promising what you wanna hear.

I think I've learned over the last few days I'm done with jokes about Drumpf and quoting Drumpf and his stances ironically now. I used to not care about it but now that he's getting closer to a nom' and his supporters are getting worse and worse. It's getting to be really hard to figure out who is joking anymore and who isn't and that's really really bad.

Portia Boulger is on twitter. Someone said something to the effect you better have a good lawyer and she said my Husband is a lawyer -- Damn good one at that.

Anyway, the woman is identified.

I'm still kinda disgusted that the guy who says he wants to change the first amendment is using the flawed First Amendment defense.

No, now she's cleaning up her statements (which has been a habit for her lately). Her original statement was clear in that it was trying to place partial blame on the methods of the protest. I'm glad that she's on the correct message now.

Part of me wants to believe a huge segment of rally attendees just want to see the guy who they've watched on The Apprentice for ten years in real life. Like Apprentice Trump would never interact with the general public in Iowa or Ohio, so it's a novelty for these people.

This is all just a novelty right?

Please somebody say yes.

Saw the people directing to a different woman, she didn't really look like the woman in the photo either. Thought it was strange.

No, she was pretty clearly trying to frame liberals as being a force of unity and loving in juxtaposition to the hatred demonstrated at trump rallies.

This is why I don't think brevity is wit, nor do people deserve it.

I get the feeling that many of Trump's supporters actually use the Nazi salute in private, but now those same people get to do it in public again as a show of support for Trump.

If Trump gets physically attack by the GE, he has the election in the bag

Keep on wishing and hoping. Your guy is cooked and you know it. This is the tip of the iceberg and he is completely sunk.

He is getting the nom, but at this point, liberals want him too, and the conservatives dont. That says it all.

I agree, she is cleaning up her statements because somehow she's being really misinterpreted. I don't see the Hillary "both sides just as bad" narrative, it makes no sense, this whole episode is free advertising for Democrats right now, why torpedo that? Criticize her for something real, like the fact the twitter post everyone has been quoting for pages was a weak, centrist response because she's trying to maximize her electability right now. It was a clear, albeit disappointingly flaccid condemnation, I just cant see the other interpretation of what she said. She literally condemns divisive rhetoric and states people assembling are part of the solution.

I was asking about Maddow's comments last night. I was able to find they up on YouTube here if anyone else is interested.

I usually don't subscribe to what could be considered conspiracy theories but I think she's on the money regarding the seeds for this shit being planted by Donald. Why else would he pick these tinderbox cities where racial tensions are already so high? Another point she makes is that most if not all other Trump rallies extensive screening was put into place so that they could ensure the attendees actually supported the campaign. That wasn't done at all last night. Why is that?

You shouldn't underestimate Trump's chances against Hillary Clinton. It would be the most vicious campaign we have seen in modern American politics.
