Bloodborne: The Card Game announced

Bloodborne is getting its own licensed card game.

The spin-off was announced on Twitter via card game designer Eric Lang, who created XCOM: The Board Game and A Game of Thrones: The Card Game, among many other licensed projects.

The developer estimated that an average round of the Bloodborne card game will last a half-hour. "Bloodborne: risk management with a bit of groupthink, inventory management/upgrades and tactical play in an intense 30 minute card game," was his Twitter-friendly elevator pitch.

"My goal with Bloodborne was to channel the intensity and frustration of the video game into a contest between players," he said. "Lots of death."

The XCOM board game is really fun, so I'm into this.

I will keep an eye on this, though I never played Bloodborne and probably won't too soon. But if it is a good game with the same artwork quality, I might be in.

My trump card!

Oh wow. Eric Lang is one of my favorite board game designers (Blood Rage and CitOW are two of the best board games money can buy) and Bloodborne was my favorite game of 2015.

This news can't be true.

Good. Now CDPR can release a Gwent card game so that Bloodborne gets robbed again. :")

On a more serious note, is it more like a board game ?

Oh, bitch bitch bitch.
Holy shit, Eric Lang is on this? Dude is a board game god and he is hot off his best game yet in Blood Rage.

I wonder how it will play. Constructed decks like Netrunner, or a deckbuilder like Ascension? Or maybe something else?
Eric Lang has already made some extemely good card games, if you didn't know. Warhammer: Invasion and CoC are great. If this is anything like those, people are in for a treat.

I usually don't care much for card games but I'm not gonna lie the idea of a Blooborne card game sounds pretty fuckin' rad.

Looking forward to the art on the cards at the very least.

For those that don't know, Eric Lang is a pretty damn good game designer. XCOM is excellent and Call of Cthulu card game is great. He also made one of my absolute favorite board games, Chaos in the Old World.

Looks like Warhammer: Invasion, CoC, and Game of Thrones are all LCGs. They all also have "The Card Game" in their titles, which Bloodborne shares, so it looks like it might turn out to be an LCG as well. I used to be way into TCGs/CCGs in the mid-late 2000s, but collecting was almost always a pain. The LCG model is exactly what those types of games should be in the modern era imo. Bodes well for Bloodborne if so.

Yeah, glad this will probably be a LCG.
