Im just laying in bed thinking about all the stuff I plan to do and buy this year. I've got some weddings to attend one is for one of my best friends. I've got the Internet Retail Expo middle of the year which should be a fun work trip. I'm planning to really expand and tweak my media centre into something super special which might be my biggest thing im looking forward to.

Some movies I'm looking forward to on the more immediate horizon and some games towards the back end other year.

What about you GAF. What you looking forward too?

I'd love to hear about some pet projects that people are working on. No one ever really takes about things like that but I like hearing people's level of passion about something.

At the Drive-In show in June
BOTTOMLESS PIT WHEN
New films from Jim Jarmusch, Kelly Reichardt, Asghar Farhadi, and Derek Cianfrance
New album from The Fall of Troy

Hopefully bringing one of these home...

Or a vacation....or I plan on moving this year so maybe those two previous items wont happen :P

Looking forward to finishing my (proper) FreeNAS/home server build. Got what should be the last parts ordered finally, once they arrive it's just some stress testing to make sure none of the HDDs are duds and I'm good to go.

After that, guess I'll save up to do some work on my scooter. #LifeInTheSlowLane

Traveling. Already went to Maui in February, that was fantastic. We're taking our 9-year old Harry Potter fan to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in June, too, that should be great.

Visiting Boulder and Denver. I've been bugging my wife about moving to CO for about a year now despite the fact we've never actually been.

Possibly getting a new job. I've sent out a couple of applications, so hoping someone bites. 2 of them are directly up my alley, but we'll see. My job is changing locations in about 2 years, to a location that will double my commute, which I of course am against.

Spending quality time with my horse. I am completely attached to him

Finishing off graduate school

Finishing up my thesis project that I worked on since I started graduate school.

Getting a job in my field.

My vacation time will be spent on these events/trips/items:
- E3
- GOP Convention (CHAOS!)
- the next Zelda game
- the next Nintendo system
- camping trip on the beach
- General Election events

Buying a new bike in a couple of weeks.

I graduate in May.

Have Premier Fan passes to AX this year, so that'll be fun. Going to see Mitski while we're in LA.

And I'll probably buy an NX.

San Diego Comic Con
Getting married in October
Honeymoon at a fancy resort in Hawaii

Buying: Nier: Automata, Persona 5, saving up for a house next year, and Uncharted 4

Going to England and France for the first time. Might buy a PC too. I don't know much about doing either of those things but life is about adventures.

Doing - Trips to Hawaii and Ireland. Will be my first time away from mainland USA or out of the country. Proposing to long time gf. Long overdue.

Buying - all I really spend my extra money on is records, beer, games and clothes. So more of that I guess. Just bought my first real pair of boots ever. Can't wear them since I have athletes foot and I don't want to get that on them.

Looking forward to moving out the Bay Area and potentially to southern California later this year. Just waiting on them grad school applications..

I'm looking to put together an outdoor movie theater setup in the backyard for the kids and friends this summer. I'm testing out a projector and I think I found a good screen solution. I'm still trying to figure out how sound is going to work and make a clean but quick setup.

Learning to drum (just got a set).
Learning more recording engineering, mixing, and mastering type stuff.
Getting a job.

If I get the job I want then:
Buying a new guitar.
Hopefully a trip to Europe. Or somewhere else.
Maybe a new car, but as much as I want a new car I'm also looking forward to my car not breaking down.

On the immediate horizon for me is seeing Kendrick Lamar perform at a music festival this coming weekend. Feeling pretty pumped because it'll be my first festival and the first time seeing him live. There's also other acts such as Kamasi Washington to look forward to and overall I'm feeling psyched.

I plan on volunteering at a campaign office in my county. This is the political year and is important. Most of my time is going towards it.

Hopefully bringing one of these home...

Or a vacation....or I plan on moving this year so maybe those two previous items wont happen :P

I've been tempted, but I always fall back on the "my little Monster is fine and will keep me from killing myself" mentality.

i can't wait to buy Zero Time Dilemma.... well i have it pre-ordered so i'm looking forward to playing it.

and i can't wait to buy a turbo grafx/pc engine duo this year.

Getting married in July, not looking forward to dropping the huge amount of money on that but pretty much saved up
Going on vacation in August (honeymoon), this I am looking forward to

Pretty much saved up enough for the wedding and I really want to buy a new MacBook Pro if Apple comes out with a new model.

Traveling to Virginia to visit some friends in June. As for purchases, new iPad Pro 9.7" if it's announced.

Buying
- Boyband Road Trip XV
- Persona 5
- Deus Ex 4

Doing
- Graduating in December
edit: watching Shokugeki no Souma season 2

I'm going to order the parts to put together a high end gaming PC next week. I've never had anything but low end trash tier laptops before, so I am really looking forward to the experience. I keep checking all the PC threads here on gaf, going back to pc part picker every few hours to check for new deals and potential price drops, and lately I've taken to watching tutorial videos about how to apply thermal paste to an aftermarket CPU cooler. I've been wanting to do this for 5 years now, but the funds were never there. I got a nice tax return this year, so my wife and I agreed we will build it together. It's going to be so much fun.
