It is, it just launched in Japan for now, we will be later in the month but seeing how this APK already has everything in it, I am expecting next week or the end of the month for NA/EU

If you have the Xposed framework installed, you can install a module called RootCloak that will let you run the app. I just tried it and it works.

Well I'm assuming people who get invited will be going through the store page too.
Takes like 2 min if you make a JP gmail account.
A word of caution though about this.
You can earn Miitomo platinum points for My Nintendo through the daily missions (in addition for the regular platinum points gained elsewhere), and these points can be redeemed for digital goods like Twilight Princess Picross, WarioWare Touched, Mario 3DS theme, various discount coupons for eShop titles that's on My Nintendo.
This means that you will be harassing your friends and your friends will be harassing you to log in every day in order to complete the daily missions:
+10 points: receive 5 hearts on your answers
+10 points: receive 5 comments on your answers
+5 points: listen to 10 answers from your friends
The missions you can do on your own:
+5 points: change your outfit
+5 points: answer 3 questions

I'm guessing most people don't want two separate My Nintendo accounts, especially when all these mobile games will be released worldwide anyway.

This is pretty cool stuff. I'll definitely have this to get the Platinum Points if anything! I wonder if we'll get the exact same discounts in the west?
Weird. I'm running my phone's stock rom, so maybe the app also blocks custom roms (if that's even possible)?

It is bad tbh. Let me search or add them by ID like any other app it does. This says a lot about Nintendo still not changing their mind and what we can expect from Nintendo NX regarding the friends system.

Looks like a cute game that will likely catch on in Japan. The jury is out on worldwide success.
I have been running CM nightlies for a while out of order and dirty flashing, so it totally could be on my end...
I have other devices to try see what happens, if anything it'll be out officially soon enough.
I'm also on CM13 nightly, can't get Miitomo working even with rootcloak

IDs? Most mobile apps use Facebook to suggest contacts and friends to me.
Also running a CM, same deal. Only seen one game elude me due to this kind of stuff (Tsumu Tsumu)...
This is a silly statement. Nintendo making it easy to link to Twitter and Facebook accounts and finding friends that way is not them "not changing their minds" or their old way of doing things. My Nintendo and linking accounts and finding friends in this app are both quite fresh and new for Nintendo. But I agree there should be an ID search for adding friends as well.

I have a Facebook and Twitter I'm logged into but don't actually use. I purposely don't have friends, nor pictures or really any information (except a few likes I put up when I first joined).
I plan to continue keeping the profiles as free of myself as possible.
I was hoping to add people from GAF or my NNID friends list.

I already have an Nintendo ID, why not use that or let people scan QR codes to add them as a friend? LINE, Kakao Talk etc. all use that.

So I removed my jailbreak from my iPhone 5 by updating and it's still crashing. Welp. Guess I'm stuck with a non-jailbroken phone. I've tried restarting/rebooting a couple of times too... oh well.

Does this app try to connect to your other social media accounts? I try to keep my social media and my game media accounts separate.
If I had to guess, based on how they shitcanned Flipnote 3D because they were worried about it being a hotbed for pedophiles preying on minors, offloading it to Facebook and Twitter or actual physical proximity at the very least lets them off the hook.
No go on my old ass Samsung galaxy tab 3 with negalite rom, also with rootcloak. I also check in Droid4x and nada there, I'd check bluestacks but it's become bloated shit...
Gonna be miffed as fuck if I cant run this when it's out stateside.
Edit: force closing deleting cache and data then rebooting and starting it at least got me to the ". . ." and then it crapped out...also, new nightly on my g3, so new hope.

Yeah, you can choose to link it to Facebook or Twitter, but I think it's mainly for friend searching. It doesn't spam my Twitter feed or anything like that it seems.
