SO excited for this.
SO excited for this.
If you and your friend are on Facebook and you both have Miitomo linked to it, when you go to add friends, you will see them as people that you can add as Miitomo friends.
Boy do I regret spending my first moments with the app examining the My Nintendo Rewards and gamified motivators that Nintendo doesn't usually believe in, but had to implement. Really made me take an annoyingly cynical stance on what is a well produced, charming piece of software that really *does* make you want to interact more with the people you know.
It's a great little social app that does a good job at making you feel comfortable to answer all kinds of questions, and it feels very much relevant with modern times, with confident and convenient sharing integration placed where necessary, and questions that are relevant to the platform ("what smartphone app can't you live without").
And yes, kudos to Nintendo for putting user experience first, when many "big publisher" apps don't. The interface is slick and well laid out while adhering to iOS human interface guidelines for the most part, and there's solid, tangible sound effects complementing the usual cheerful Nintendo soundtrack you'd expect.
So yes, while the monetisation may be cynical, there's a lot to appreciate here. In a way the monetisation is a reminder that this is the price Nintendo has to pay to distribute a game to the masses as a free-to-start download, anything else just won't reach the same audience or generate the kind of money to make these apps sustainable.
After all, DeNA wants these games to generate money, so their goal has to be satisfied even though Nintendo only wants people to interact with their brand again. Though the two do go hand-in-hand at times, given how user engagement is tied to My Nintendo reward gathering (which in turn can be spent on more Miitomo coins and...you get the picture)...
Damnit! Unavailable in my country.![]()
Bastards! I guess I'll just keep waiting...It's only just launched in Japan, with all other countries listed as "soon."
Yeah, I think at the very least it checks for root. (Didn't work on my Nexus 6p which is rooted, even when I disabled root, but after installing rootcloak and disabling root it works now.) Although people have said that rootcloak doesn't fix it for them, so it might be checking for custom ROMs as well. (Although I'm not sure how possible that is, I'm on stock.)Miitomo not being available in your country doesn't mean you cannot use it
Many have downloaded the APK and installed it.
Though a few of us cannot get it to work for some reason (mostly on rooted devices?).
Nope!Huh, so it's not connected to your Wii U/3DS friends at all?
Ok so I just finished going through the thread and adding everyone to a Twitter list. I'll try to keep it up to date when new handles are being posted here.
You can just go through the list clicking Follow and you'll have added everyone in no time.
(Be aware that you have to follow each other to be able to add someone as a friend in Miitomo!)

I think I'll create a special Miitomo Twitter account to avoid bloating my timeline...
I have CyanogenMod on my HP Touchpad, installed RootCloak (with Xposed), didn't work, disabled root, didn't work. But then I heard some people have the same problem with stock ROMs. So I don't particularly get it.Yeah, I think at the very least it checks for root. Although I downloaded it from the Play Store properly, so I might just have it working thanks to that plus rootcloak.
How vital is having a Twitter account to this app?

Ah, ok. Thanks for the info. I thought this was something completely different lol.pretty vital if none of your friends outside of the internet don't play the game. It's the easiest way to add people from online.

Yeah, it's confusing.I have CyanogenMod on my HP Touchpad, installed RootCloak (with Xposed), didn't work, disabled root, didn't work. But then I heard some people have the same problem with stock ROMs. So I don't particularly get it.
EDIT: Just got to see that someone with a unrooted stock ROM can't get it to boot either. So this is REALLY weird.

I saw what you initially wrote...
The Twitter list should be updated now again!
Can you add me to the list?
My twitter is @Kouriozan, same avatar as here.
If anyone is in for a laugh, check out the comments field of any Miitomo article on the Apple fan site of your choosing. The absolute butthurt that Apple fans are having that Nintendo has the gall to release this and not a proper Pokemon or Mario game is palpable and hilarious.
How do you share Miifotos with others on Miitomo?![]()
So how are you all playing this if it isn't available anywhere outside of Japan?
I think it's automatic...
