Star Citizen Alpha 2.0 | The 'Verse Awakens

Hell yeah, the Sabre is available from here!

Thanks anyways Aztechnology. :)

EDIT: My poor wallet. I want a Super Hornet as well...

No problem, glad it's gone on sale so you can just grab it yourself. You should really consider grabbing a cheap LTI ship off Reddit. They usually sell some at cost and then you have an LTI Sabre! I think a lot of people grabbed Kore Reliants when they were on sale with LTI.

Also there will be a few new LTI ship hitting soon on concept sale that should both be cheaper than the Sabre.

Just finished watching the Starfarer overview. Once the escape pods are operational I want to see a video of every pod doing a synchronized eject while the ship is in self destruct mode. Also gets me to thinking about the number of pods the Idris must have if the Starfarer has that many.

Can't wait to see it explode fully fueled. That is probably why we have not seen it yet, the servers can't handle the explosions ;). Really glad they showed it off today, hope 2.3 is next week over my kids spring break.

I like how they explicitly mentioned how the fuel tanks weren't invincible, and to be careful to not shoot them with the rear turrets. Looking like the scene is definitely set for some nice fireworks. =)

Now, lets theorize about the Gemini for a moment. Supposedly it has bigger guns, more armor, but less cargo. Now, I can't see how the first two would impact the internal storage area at all. The location of it would be unaffected by either. So if there's a reduction in storage, it must be from the fuel canister area. My guess is that there's either going to be a shroud around those tanks, or they're going to be individually armored. A shroud seems the most likely as that would also reduce dry transport container capacity and thus keep the ship statistically balanced for both roles.

When does that start? Because the Sabre is only available until Monday.

Then you would need to get a CCU chain going. First buy a ship that is always in the store that costs under the sabre like the Hornet. Once you have the Hornet then buy the CCU from a Hornet to Sabre, but dont apply it. Then you wait for your LTI token to come out say the Drake bike. It will most likely be under the $110 Hornet in cost. Buy the Drake Bike, then melt your Hornet. Upgrade your Bike (LTI Token) to a Hornet then use your Hornet to Sabre CCU.

Yes I agree. Willing to bet both the fuel containers and the shroud are thicker lined making them have a smaller holding capacity. I would guess the inside of the ship is the same size, just different themed as it is Aegis doing it.

Saw this as well:

We have added two new FPS weapons to Crusader!

One is the Arrowhead Sniper Rifle.
The other is the Devastator-12 Shotgun.

Still D/L, someone on Reddit posted the Khartu-al speeds are : 220 SCM, 325 Afterburner, 620 cruise speed... looks like place holder as these match the base hornet.

The transformation animations are super neat on the Scout. And it has a different Quantum Jump effect.

Whoa, that's a crazy process.

If I'm understanding correctly, attaining LTI on a Sabre would cost the price of another Hornet, right? Seems like a steep price to pay for something that's supposed to only give you the slightest monetary return in-game.

No, it costs exactly as much as a Sabre if you do it correctly.

Buy eg. Hornet (this is actually optional at this point) $110.
Buy Hornet to Sabre CCU $60.
Wait for cheap LTI token eg. Dragonfly with price smaller than hornet.
Melt Hornet (if you already bought it) and get store credit back.
Buy Dragonfly with LTI.
Buy CCU from Dragonfly to Hornet and apply it. (Dragonfly price plus differnce to Hornet = $110)
Apply Hornet to Sabre CCU.
Total: Dragonfly + CCU Dragonfly to Hornet + Hornet to Sabre = $170

It looks great!

Now they need to fix the terrible strafe speeds, wonky roll speed. Visibility is so so. It also blacks out pretty easy even with these "place holder" slow speeds.

Looking at the HoloXPLOR the Scout has a place holder size 3 SuperHornet GODI_S3_F4_Q2 shield right now. 5400 Hit Points. 4 coolers on it as well.

You can make them do some silly stuff as they stop very fast. You need to give them boost a lot to control the drifts and boost with no strafe/throttle to control them.

Anyone know how far along the Reliant is, I'm so ready to melt my mustang.

It was one of the ships listed as possibly becoming hangar ready for 2.3. It looks like it is pretty far along from all the videos and images they have been showing. I would guess in the next month we should have it in Hangar and flight ready soon after. They may even sneak it into 2.3.x build.

Sweet. I'm so freaking stoked for that ship!!!!!

Reliant will most likely be 2.4.

They probably don't want to over-work their team and rush everything out one patch.

Right now it looks like they do two major ship milestones a big patch.

Xian Scout being fly-ready and Starfarer being Hangar ready for 2.3. And also the "Large Hangars" in addition to that.

Judging from the video however; the Starfarer can fly. Just buggy.

I have a Starfarer and it is killing me not to be able to walk around inside of it because I don't have access to the PTU. :(

Okay, that's seems super sweet. Any time line of when the Dragonfly or any other cheap LTI ship will be coming out?

They said they want to do a concept sale every 6 weeks or so. One is just in progress but it costs 250. It is for the alien ship Vanduul Blade. So just buy a Hornet to Sabre CCU (or anything that is also always available but a bit more expansive than a hornet like a Constellation Taurus for 150. This would make the CCU from Taurus to Sabre 20 and you can even buy a LTI concept ship that is more expensive than a hornet. Like a concept ship for 130 or so) now and apply it once you buy the concept ship in 6n weeks (n element N).

Oh yeah, getting a Taurus CCU is a good idea. I think I'm gonna hunker down and get both a Super Hornet and a Sabre. I assume there's no limitation on buying more then 1 LTI ship when they do become available?

When the Starfarer becomes flyable, the first thing I'm going to do is invite as many people as I can to hop aboard, fly out to the weapons free zone, and then have an FPS deathmatch. Whoever is left standing gets to fly the beast back to Port Olisar and do it all over again.

Count me in!

10 bucks says somebody blows the thing up before your deathmatch is resolved.

That would be the best FPS level since I can remember! Deathmatch among a ship spewing sparks and emergency lights, trying to get the final kill before the entire thing goes kaboom. More exciting than anything going on in Alpha 2.x these days, that's for sure.

Ship itself might even split apart into multiple pieces with their own local physics grid requiring EVA from one half to the other. Or at least I think that sort of functionality was supposed to exist for the larger ships.

Got a chance to log onto the PTU and my GOD! Please, for all that is holy, let the Starfarer become flyable in 2.4 Best way to describe that ship would be like a ship from Star Trek. Nooks and crannies all over. I even got lost for a second while exploring the ship/

Does that nullify the TTK shown in the video?
I can only say that it gets weird. Sometimes the ship spins and becomes unkillable, other times it doesn't respond to damage in the same way as normal.

The other player may not have any control, or the game might be crashed on the other end. Sometimes it is an issue with the server not responding.
