I'm going to wait until I see the quality of the output before deciding if I want to contribute it not.
Long time GT fan back to the days when Epic Battlecry ruled but I kinda fell away from the site over the last 6/12 months or so.

Hopefully they can grow the audience that's willing to contribute (like Giant Bomb has) and maybe get some sponsors.
Edit: E3 will be a big factor - they have the most jolly coverage in the business, and I bet it'll get them some more followers/patrons.

This hasn't happened to any Patreon campaigns I've taken part in. It's mostly been a steady, but very slow, increase, which eventually stabilizes. The only real reduction happens on the 1st of the month following the campaign start, when the pledges are collected for the first time.
If you weren't a fan of the last 18 months of GT, you likely won't be a fan of this. It's a continuation of that as it was that period that got them this cult following.
Hopefully, but they don't ham up their responses for the stream so for them to get the coverage they did last year, they're going to need some big announcements to go mental over!

Seriously, though, even without the Shenmue-esque megatons, things like Bets are fun and they have a totally different tone of coverage than other peeps.
I went from maining Giant Bomb through E3 to staying tuned into GT because of how up-beat they are about everything (not that I'll ever stop watching GB's E3 stuff either - I just do it in post now).
i don't think any of them have the same emotional connection with an potential Crash Bandicoot announcement as Huber had with Shenmue 3, gonna be a low key E3 for EZA

Quick Question...I don't get this Patreon thing the young kids are talking nowadays...does this mean that the show will be exclusive to patreon? Or are they creating a exclusive site? Are they uploading videos to youtube?

No, shows aren't exclusive to Patreon.
This is just a way of showing support and funding them.
I'm from the UK and it was still easy for me to pledge to them.

Their podcasts and stuff will release on patreon 2 days earlier for subs there, then put up on youtube for everyone else for free. Can back them on patreon with paypal or a credit card.
Everything will be free eventually on Youtube and Twitch. Some shows will be hosted on the Patreon page two days before they're released for free to give an incentive for people to back them.

You'll find most of their stuff on their new YT channel, but there will be some patreon exclusive stuff. Nothing serious so you really don't have to feel bad about being excluded.
To clarify, there are some backer exclusive shows as well, but not the ones you're used to seeing at the old GT that were goal amounts. Already mentioned Brandon having a weekly editorial show.

True. We shouldn't expect all of their money to be coming from Patreon. Expect to hear a lot of "this show is sponsored by SquareSpace". Also, Twitch subscribers as well.
