Druckmann: New Project in work since 2020, up to Sony when to announce it.

A woman killed a man. The women in this post apocalyptic world aren't hot, etc...
Of course.. it's that silly stuff.
Yeah, I don't care if every character in his next game is ugly as sin tractor-lesbians who is crushing dudes skulls with their giant thighs.
If gameplay and story is as awesome as TLOU 2 i'm all in.

At this point i dont care if abby got a dick surgery and is fucking zombies.
Just give us something already
I'm also thirsty for non remake/remaster shite too.

Well, maybe not new info, but I think at least we can suppose that this games is in late stage of development.
Nowadays AAA games take around 5-9 years of development, maybe even a bit more in case of new IP/covid in the middle. Meaning, it may be 1 to maybe even 5 years away from release.

Remember when Jason Rubin was their director and they put out a groundbreaking game that moved the medium forward every year?

Remember when Amy Henning took over and they released a masterpiece Uncharted game every two years?

Remember when Druckman took over, 12 years ago now, and they've only managed to release three new games since then?
What Jason and Amy did outside ND? In these 12 years Druckman/ND released several bangers.

The excuse that "HD" games are harder to make doesn't cut it. The excuse that "budgets have gone up" doesn't make sense either.
It is a fact that budgets and time needed to make AAA games increased every generation for every single studio, not only ND

Why does everyone hate this dude?
Druckmann and hate is like peanut butter and jelly.

This is why it would be more fun if some of the more well known dev leads just leaned into it and did a heel turn, but unfortunately a large portion of the internet doesn't like most heel turned devs anymore because the minute they say anything close to 'don't like it, don't buy it' the audience loses it.

I feel like only veteran Japanese leads are able to get away with it in today's age, like Harada and Kamiya.

Yah we know its the TLOU Part 2 PC. Should be next year to match up with TLOU Season 2

They already told why they droped factions. They dont want to leave some of the studio tied to supporting a GAAS for years. They rather have all staff woking on single player games. It just sucks that nowadays the simple idea of making a solid multiplayer game without turning into a GAAS is not viable anymore.
Yeah they said that after all the insiders confirmed that the project was cancelled due to the influence Bungie had after visiting the studio. At the end of the day, they could have formed a team within ND or formed another within Sony Bend or just somewhere that could work on the project because let's be fair, it's a huge franchise for PlayStation, the TV show did really well. They missed a huge opportunity based on feedback from a GaaS "specialist" that can't even hit their own targets.

There were plenty of ways the project could have been supported. ND didn't have to hold onto it forever. They could have launched it then slowly handed it to someone else for upkeep, providing they were in communication with ND staff. If it was successful it would have paid for itself.

Ugly lesbians.

If they were Japanime hot, they'd love him.
Is Ellie actually considered ugly? I know I'm gay but she's like a pretty girl, no?

It's not always easy to look good after the Zombie apocalypse but she always came off as attractive.

No normal human being thinks that she's ugly, like, you have to be an actual deranged culture warrior to believe that, there's no other way around.

Last of us 2 was my favourite game in 2020.
Very excited to see what his next project is!
Killed off their favorite character.
Forced us to play as his killer.
Made the killer an unlikeable and insufferable cunt.
Made Ellie an unlikeable and insufferable cunt.
Hasn't done shit in the last 4 years. Kojima also fucked up with Raiden in MGS2 but turned around and gave us arguably the best MGS game in three years saving his reputation. Neil hasn't because he was out in hollywood palling around with actors while studio had nothing to do.

Of course it does.... Why are you acting like this is a ND/Druckman only problem? Seems like every AAA type of game takes a minimum of 4 years now. You may not like that, I personally think devs waste too much time but it's just the reality.

Genius move. Loved it.

Wut? He's been working on a new game since 2020 as he said in the stream.
thats the point. no one has seen it. when people see his new game, opinions will change. right now he's only remembered for the bad things in TLOU2.

I find this logic strange.
Dude's been working on a game since 2020 and Sony have not decided to show it yet. Can't hate the dude because of that.

And TLOU2 hate is just silly.
Game is amazing, and they did some really brave stuff in there.
People can of course disagree and be disappointed in the game, but the "hate" is just silly noise which of course should be ignored.

New game concept from ND:

You work as a Sweetbaby employee.

You fight off incels and conservatives similar to The last of us combat.

Hermen is the main protagonist

Some where you're forced to play some version of horizon.

They dont hate the game because he hasnt released anything. They hate him for the reasons i described above. The fact that he hasnt released a game means he hasnt been able to redefine his image like Kojima did back in 2004 with MGS3.

Killed off their favorite character. ✔️
Forced us to play as his killer. ✔️
Made the killer an unlikeable and insufferable mentally challenged cunt ✔️
Infested/allowed to infest the TLOU universe with cringe teen modern terminology and phrases like "oof", "yikes" and diarrhea of this sort. ✔️
Diluted the TLOU universe groundedness with inapposite strong push on all sorts of political messages. ✔️
Made sure no more Uncharted games with Nathan Drake are possible, killing therefore one of my favorite series and one of my favorite fictional characters. ✔️
Made sure no more TLOU with Joel are possible, killing therefore one of my favorite series and one of my favorite fictional characters. ✔️
Responsible for departures of favorite gaming industry developers I admired like Balestra, Straley and Hennig. ✔️
Has complete control over what once was an elite studio producing stuff I loved. ✔️
He multiple times engineered online conflicts between "haters" and his ass-licking followers. ✔️
His very personal stunning and brave choices ultimately led 70% of my once favorite studio to leave. ✔️

It's so stunning and brave to shit on the fan-favorite male character, something nobody else has ever done, except Spiderman, Kratos, Indiana Jones, Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Joker, Obi-Wan, Thor, Loki, Sam (Uncharted), Tommy (TLOU), among others.

We can discuss the quality of that delivery, but calling that "brave" is hilarious.

Keeping in mind, of course, that the majority of those "bad things" are really only "bad things" if you're a proper delicate little twit with the emotional maturity and stability of a small child, and an unusually daft one at that.

On topic of a new game from ND, I'd personally like to see them go in an entirely new direction. Something less dark, perhaps. More adventure.

What a weird take. If anything, the events of TLOU2 made Joel a stronger character, and certainly more memorable.

Weird? They explicitly SPIT on his corpse. It's literal.

As said, we can discuss whether the revenge story is well-told. As a revenge story, I think it's good. The birthday flashback is very touching, an obvious attempt at reconciling with players.

The question is: why did they choose that, among all the things that could have been done? They could have expanded the story 3-4 games, like Uncharted. They went the easy route story-wise. A revenge tale is always the easiest one to pull and the one that in the end gets you to a void resolution.

Was that really necessary? Maybe it was groundbreaking 20 years ago, but not in this decade. It's become a bad cliche. Being nihilistic is not cool anymore.

In TWD, from which TLOU borrows heavily, there are traumatic events too, but the writing is infinitely better.

Total confidence in Drukmann and ND, I love their style and approach to games. Looking forward to his next game.

You can't be serious that they took the 'easy' route. It was the exact opposite and the polarized opinions of the game prove it.

By FAR the easiest thing they could have done was have Joel and Ellie palling around in the post apocalypse again. That is what people who don't like the game wanted. The simplest, most boring thing we could have gotten.

They tried something different and interesting instead.

Hating what they did is completely valid. Calling it the easy route is completely untrue.

Exactly. This forum sometimes man...

Imagine saying killing Joel, one of the most beloved gaming characters of the last decade as "the easy way out" lmao. They could easily just have no time skips and having Joel and Ellie doing ...something and everyone would love it. They knew they would get hate from what they did but calling "the easy way out" makes no sense.

TLOU 3 starring Abby adventure with joel flashback

Great example of why it was brilliant the way it was. TWD turned into a soap opera and could have used a hell of a lot more, and fast, pruning of characters. This just smells of people not being to accept fast closure and instead demand serialization. Weird to see people advocate for sequelitis.

I think it is going to be medieval dark fantasy theme setting like Game of Throne. More grounded, nothing like the Witcher or any other games nowadays that involve magic.

They already got the melee combat system with stellar animation down, there is no point of switching to anything else entirely.

Of course it will share some similarity interm of hand to hand combat but that end there. With sword, Axe, Hammer and much more that they could expand. I think it will be a brutal and visceral combat game that set in a dark medieval fantasy world.
That would be the best possible news. But I'm afraid it's going to be much lighter, less violent, high fantasy vibes this time.

Well, it obviously made lots of folks quite emotional.
Perhaps "brave" is the wrong word, but they avoided the easy route ane took the a route that very few expected, even though, as you write, it's been done lots of times before.

This.
I bet most of the same folks who always keep shitting at every video game character (except the ones who in reality would have to go through lots and lots of surgery) are bathing in 10/10 pussy irl...

Ellie is a damn sexy tomboy. Hot as fuck in TLOU2.
