Dark Souls III [Import OT] Kindle the fire, one last time

I got the miracle merchant finally, and she's selling only 4 miracles.

I think one is heal, and the one on the far right with a picture of a house is probably homeward... but the other two I'm not sure. google translator says "tears of healing" on the one. the other might be force.

Ring of Soul Protection needs to be a one-time use thing, it was way too powerful in DS2 because it permanently negated one of the most important aspects of the series.

Killed the first boss. Jeeze, game's roughing me up but it's a lot of fun. Trying to decide what to do with my
Raw Gem
or if i should even bother upgrading weapons yet. I'd love to farm those knights in the first area but I feel like i'd be better served getting to know their attacks better. Monsters feel way, way WAY harder to stab bait this time around.

Boss was way easier than his build up, I think i might just need to take my time more.

YO, did it break permanently or can it be fixed? I loved how cheap fixing the ring of soul protection was in DkS2

It broke permanently. Gone from my inventory. Message popped up when I died, but had no clue what it said.

Up to my 3rd boss, got him to like 2% then fucked up and lost 70%hp in half a second. These bosses so far have been DS2 difficulty for me (I did get a 100% phys shield from one of the knight guys though, so that made things a lot easier). Still using my starting axe, though I did upgrade it to what I think is Raw (dmg went up, lost scaling), was planning on getting my vit/stam up early so 1st weapon may aswell be Raw.

For those wondering, post credits gives you the option to NG+ right away or otherwise do it at a bonfire later.

Q for anyone who has been doing coop: do estus flasks replenish after you return to your own world when helping others?

It broke permanently. Gone from my inventory.

Fuck, bummer, but not surprising. Oh well, back to losing hundreds of thousands souls then.

Someone beat Dark Souls 3 in X hours. You think X < Y = BB length. I retort, "for some individuals, their BB completion time is Z <=X."

There are people who have finished Dark Souls 2 in under two hours. Did they do it on their very first playthrough? Absolutely not, so what's your point? Considering those who were given out copies were only supposed to stream specific areas, this sounds like a stream from someone who downloaded the PS4 version. I guess it's possible that they simply ran past everything to be the first to reach the final boss, but that sounds like a pretty lame thing to do for those who were actually watching the stream.

I'm confident that the difficulty in DkS3, gonna depend more than ever in what kind a character you play. A guy with good armor and shield with have an easier time with the tough enemies of the first area.

They are more harder than the black knights in ds1, for a character that relies on rolls.

Where?

A video I was watching with Namco representatives said that they designed the game to be tougher for those who rely heavily on rolling.

in
Undead settlement, buy the 1500 key from the old lady in the hub after giving her the item that updates her shop

after that open the door near the giant rat

the item that updates the shop is located before the
tree
boss and I think it's called:
burial ash

I've put about five hours into the game and have moved past what has been shown in demo videos. I am having fun even though I think I am rusty and have died a bunch. I am not expert when it comes to framerates, but it does seem pretty bad in some areas. It can pretty choppy. I am also seeing texture pop-in sometimes.

Yes and pop in, frame pacing etc

That's disappointed. Oh well, I tolerated Blightown so I guess it can't be worse than it, right?

it's similar to BB, generally, with some areas really getting even worse.

you can live with it, but comparing this to 60 fps on PC will be a generational leap, night and day, no reason for anyone who owns a decent PC to play it any other way IMO

60fps is really game changer but I already pre-order PS4 version. Maybe I will get PC ver on sale

Oh nice, got
Lucatiel's sword
from a Boss Soul. Not sure which or what the name of the actual sword is though, but I always liked the design ;p.

And matching armour now too ^^..No hat though.

Man. The whole lead up to the fifth boss was hectic as shit. And the boss itself destroyed me several times. Everyone seems to beat the boss with ease. What gives??

How is it compared to OG dark souls on consoles?

I have no idea what frame pacing is so, other than that it runs similat to DS1 on PS3.

no area is as bad is blighttown so far.

Is the second boss optional? The trophy pops up grouped with the first (mandatory) boss, but I don't think I got anything or opened any new areas from defeating it.
s

Tree
boss? yes it's optional.
the item it gives you is boss weapons.

kind like
flamelurker
soul except this one is optional.

Nevermind. ; )

How are people enjoying the game? I'm playing through BB now (first playthrough) and I'm enjoying it, but am still tempted to buy this on the way home tonight!

My first session ended at a bit under 8 hours.
Got to the first bonfire of the new area (
forest after the frost knight
) but still have the optional boss to dispatch before I explore it.

I made two attempts before going to bed but I was too tired and ended up not playing well by that time :-P (it was 4am).

Now one day at work but once I'm back, it's DkS3 evening once again <3
