It's gonna happen isn't it.
Alright I'm jumping on the hype train.
It's gonna happen isn't it.
Same here. This controller looks like a joke to me so far.It I have to look down to see what I'm pressing I am never, ever buying this.
I mean, I could tolerate this as a handheld that plays Nintendo's phone games as well or something, but the console is going to need a "Pro" controller. I just feel this will be vastly worse than even the WiiU gamepad in all aspects but weight for how I play.
He said some things about NX before. Can't remember what tho, wasn't so active back then. I'm sure someone can dig up the thread.Who is 10k?
You have 2 pressable sticks and 2 shoulder buttons/wheels as the norm, the other touch inputs should be no worse than in mobile games which most people seem to figure out quickly.Calling it now. 240p. /s
The main problem I can see with this is the different button placement. If each game has wildly different layouts it's going to take a very long time to get used to.
Also I don't mind this as the default controller as long as I have an alternative with physical buttons.
Read the sentence again. I'm speaking of the hypothetical future.
We "grasp" the concept.
We think it´s shit.

Speak for yourself. I see potential in this idea for a controller.

Couldn't this be done with the existing Wii U pad?
If this is true he shouldn't do stuff like that. Now he'll have everyone quoting him like he knows stuff....10k isn't an insider though, guys.
Who is 10k?
does it matter if it's a handheld or a console controller if it plays the same games?
Didn't people already berate you for doing this in the previous thread without having real info to present?

Even the first one probably covers more than it would in real lifewhich situation is more likely?

I think what causes grief is that if it's a handheld, you're gonna be staring at the screen anyways.
If it's a console controller, no matter if it's 4K120fps gaming, it means squat if you have to keep looking at your controller just to be sure of what tactile button you're pressing.
His profile says "Occupation: carpenter."

Well no shit

How can you know there are no advantages? And the Wii U was crippled? If you want to suggest that it wasn't powerful enough for third parties, sure, but nothing about the touch screen on the controller "crippled" the console. (I generally agree that the concept didn't seem like a big value add, but that doesn't mean it was crippled.)
which situation is more likely?

The fiscal meeting is may isn't it?
Figured this would be a good exercise. Made a quick UI animation concept:

Hear it with sound for that extra OOMPH.
- Contextual actions/buttons
- Click down on left analog stick for weapon wheel
The hell is this guy?

Nice for a handheld. Unusable for a console.
This thing is the handheld guys, I told you!
160 pages of guys debating and theorizing about absolutely nonsensical control method..
Sorry, I'm a little confused. Is the consensus we would customize the buttons or are the buttons set on the screen already?
I grasp the concept and I still don't want it.

Yep. Monster Hunter 4U is a perfect example, because it wasn't just buttons that you could add to the bottom screen. There was an extra D-pad (which could be resized and repositioned), a minimap, a player display, a lock-on button, and all sorts of stuff like that. Its somewhat similar to how MH3U and 4U implemented the touchscreen as "additional" buttons, and had a virtual D-Pad for camera control that was movable, and resizable. I got used to using the D-Pad, but having to keep track of multiple buttons without a tactile sensation from a standard controller seems like it'd be a problem. Being able to feel the button gives me a sense of reassurance that I am going to be pressing the right button.
Maybe that guy wants to fool us. Maybe he doesn't know. Maybe it is the handheld. Maybe all of this is fake. The guy who leaked it said it's the console's controller.
The majority of people would say that its the Nintendo games that sell consoles. If they don't have a strong enough catalogue to sell a traditional console, is just having a gimmick filled one really the answer.
Yeah the smiley was a mistake for a thread like this. My bad.April 27.
You know how vague statements ending with an emoji are interpreted in threads like this.

Honestly, the 3DS feels like the pinnacle of the DS design. I am satisfied with it and a third clamshell system wouldn't really grab my attention. I'm ready for a new handheld design, especially after watching the Vita get jettisoned.
Bring on the customizable UI.
Have we discussed the HDMI cable?

Could it be connected to the controller? What does the string on the connector say?
Is this some Asian charset?
You're just reminding me that this puts them back in "extra work for a Nintendo port" territory again.I (have a small, but still realistic) fear though we could see a possibility of overzealous developers cramming in as many action buttons as they can, and we might as well be reading braille when trying to play our games.
Because most things from the DS didn't work with the second screen being so far removed from the primary one. And the ergonomics also made any attempt of motion controls really awkward. It was like a crippled DS, plus a few other halfbaked features.
And this might theoretically go even further by doing digital buttons and removing screen space.
It's a Belkin HDMI cable...
