Dark Souls III [Import OT] Kindle the fire, one last time

the catacombs are pretty insane

ended up sprinting through when my estus got low straight into a boss fight, seemed to be pretty easy until he one shot me and idk how
 
Does anyone know what the boss count for this game is? I feel like I read in an early interview that it was
15
but that was a long time ago and I might be misremembering. Just want to get my expectations in check as to the size of the game because if I'm right then that's a step down from the previous entries.
 
Boss weapon spoilers
Are either off the Blood of the Wolf weapons Dex? I guess the Wolf Knight is STR because it seems to be Artorias' sword but Farron Greatsword looks like a Dex weapon.

I have seen people say 20, dunno if it's correct. There's at least 18 confirmed
 
Word is that performance improves on PS4 in offline mode?

Anyone confirm this? Can't try it myself until later tonight.

Farron Greatsword is Dex, I'm using it and it is spectacular, loving the moveset
 
being in ember form in the forest/swamp is pretty fucking stupid, I get invaded by 3 people for some reason and summoning doesn't work 90% of the time. plus enemies following you through the whole map
 
Speaking about boss weapons. How do you get them this time? Like DS1? by transforming an upgraded normal item or you just trade them with souls like DS2?

Also how high can you upgrade a weapon up to +10 or +15?

Works like DS2 as far as I can tell. The little guy back at Firelink can do it for you once you've beaten a couple bosses.

Aha and what about weapon upgrade? Is it +10 or +15? Also upgrading was far easier in DS2 than DS1. The materials were much easier to find. How is it now?

No idea honestly on the limit. I've gotten to a +3 so far. Haven't had too much trouble getting Titanite Shards. Got a lot of infusion stones too.
 
So does anyone know how to get to the
trench area in undead settlement. It's way down low in that big trench in front of the church/tower. This whole are is overwhelming to me... Also, the gated door with the woman sitting down behind the bars near the church.

For both of these -
you need to bring Ashes that you'll find in the area to the maiden in the hub, and buy a key from her. The key opens a locked door in the sewers of the settlement.

Ooooh the Mortician's ashes? I think I already did bring them, I just didn't notice the key. Thanks man!

This sounds great, I hate knowing that I want to use certain types of spells but having to wait until much later into the game to buy or find them and then only being able to use what I like for a smaller portion in the late game.

there is a dude
sitting on one of the thrones
that when given the item you get from the
third boss
, will start crafting boss items for you.

I'm not sure what you mean, maybe I haven't reached that part yet. You can burn embers and return to "fired up" form which allows you to summon and get invaded, plus gives you more health. At the main bonfire, you can also burn

strengthens your Estus Flasks i.e. provides more healing or FP recovery per use

any idea what the curse level does? Seems like it's increasing every time I die, I got it from the Dark Sigils so I'd assume it's not good.

it is but I still have no clue why I can get invaded by 2+ people when I'm alone and I didn't use the Dried Finger.

I as going by google translates for that name. It's just one of the main options at a bonfire so assume it's just burning stuff then.

Man, playing in Japanese kind of recreates some of the early DeS / DS1 feeling of not knowing wtf is going on or how anything works
 
Aldrich the witch
(~9th boss) is completely wrecking me. Haven't had much trouble with any other bosses before this one. Anyone beaten it and have some advice?

edit: got it down after 8 attempts. Hardest boss I've fought so far. I feel like I sorta lucked into killing it because it didn't do one of it's moves the whole fight :/.
 
I wonder if spamming from's twitter with obscenities will make them release the US version faster.

Is it me or are those knights in the 1st main area the spitting image of the ones from
undead parish in DS

I've been enjoying it so far. Been 2handing
Uchigatana
for the whole game pretty much and I just killed my 9th boss. I also tried out the Dex greatsword and it felt pretty good but I'm just too used to the other weapon's moveset to switch right now.
 
NPC question/spoiler

has anyone seen patches yet? the wiki says he appears at the top of the firelink shrine tower after you've collected the firekeeper soul but he's definitely not there for me
 
So... I caved and did the whole Japan Xbox store thing. How do I actually download it to my US Xbox when I get home now? Will it just appear in the games list?
